Horrible. Soooo rude. Litterally the WORST towing employee/ company everrrrrr. We have permission to park in the back of a cracker barrel over night from multiple managers, who have permission from the property manager. A certain *gentleman* would stop harassing me last night after I offered my name and to provide my tag and insurance info to prove my tags are just in the mail and when I offered he said he wasn't a cop bit that he's gonna tow and call the police on us, the best part to me is the cracker barrel was open for another hour at least so we all tried to get him to talk to the manager and when we all were told that we are absolutely aloud to stay the night and they have no clue what this man or his company is talking about as no one even called them. He just wanted to harass people and he even flipped me off on his way back to his truck. So lol yea spend u money somewhere else. Placer Towing was extremely understanding over the phone and spent time with me to plan a pickup the following morning that best fit my schedule. Their price was slightly under the first place I called and their tow driver showed up directly at 8:30am as scheduled. I was stranded in a parking lot due to a faulty starter on a car with 260k+ miles on it. I used my Geico Mobile App and they dispatched Placer Towing in Minutes. I was expecting to wait 60-90 mins as that has been my experience in the past with other companies. Placer Towing showed up super quick (even before my ride home showed up) I was greeted by Austin who quickly helped get my car ready to tow. He even showed me where my tow hook was in the trunk... (after 12 years and 260k+ miles, I never knew it was there) Austin was super nice and easy going. He even offered to fill out the paperwork for me at the dealer and put the key in the night slot. If I could give a .5 star review I would. Having read the other reviews from this month I probably had the same person come to tow my car (I read the reviews after my experience today). He was completely unprofessional and rude. I asked him if he could try and jump start the car first before seeing if we needed a tow. He laughed at me and said no. I asked if it was because he got more money for a tow and he said of course. What an attitude! The end result after waiting for 1.5 hours was that he refused tow my car. I called Placer Towing this morning at 7:10. The guy on the phone was nice and said that a truck would be at my house in about 40 minutes. He texted me 25 later verifying my address. Then he followed up saying: Thank you. I had to divert your driver to a young lady stranded on the edge of the freeway in the 65/80 interchange. If it diverts him too long I will call in another driver to you. I texted him back at 9:05 asking the ETA. He told me he was the night dispatch and he was off work at 8:00. He said he'd check in with day shift for me. I didn't hear back so I called at 9:21 asking the status. The lady said that they were dropping a car off in Lincoln but the driver would be at my house in about a half hour. I called back at 10:16 (almost an hour later) and the phone went to voice mail. I called again at 10:19 and again at 10:21. I decided to call some other companies to see who would get here first. I called a local guy (I'm about to post a review for them, so check my reviews for the 5 star service) and the guy said he could be at my house in 10 minutes. I called Placer towing back and FINALLY got someone. I told the lady to cancel my tow truck because I found someone else. I was quoted 40 minutes. I gave up after just over 3 hours. I needed a jump for my car so I could get it home. My insurance company called placer towing. The guy got there after about 45 minutes and tried to jump it. He said it couldn't be jumped. He said that there was no way it would get me home. But refused to tow it to my house even though my insurance covered it. The next morning, I had the same guy towing it to the Walmart auto center to get a replacement battery. Miraculously, Walmart was able to jumpstart it just fine. They said I did need a new battery, but that I wouldn't have had to be towed. The driver lied to be to get me to tow it so he could make more money. Ridiculous and dishonest company. read more

Placer towing did the job right. I got a flat tire around 11:30 pm and called Geico's road side assistance service. I assumed it would be a quick fix to put the spare tire on...wrong. The first company Geico sent claimed the key to my wheel locks was missing and basically just left saying he couldn't help me, that I needed a flat bed truck and tow to the dealership. Geico was then unable to locate a flat bed truck. At that point, it was nearly 1am, so I decided to leave my car behind and head home for the night. Geico sent Placer towing the next morning with the plan of delivering my car to the dealership to have the locks cut off, but, low and behold, this driver had a brain and, voila, found the damn key was right there in a small concealed pocket inside the tool kit all along. He replaced the flat with the spare tire in mere minutes. Honestly, I'd never even laid eyes on the key before, so I didn't even know what I was looking for but you'd think most tow drivers would be clued in - grateful Placer towing was.. :-) Good save from what would have been a costly and unnecessary trip to the dealership. read more

Last night driving with my daughter my car would not start so stranded I searched for a local towing company in Rocklin area "Placer towing" came up first so I called and they were not interested in towing my vehicle and told me to call my insurance company. I laughed at such business practice especially after I told them my insurance company reimburses me for my tow. It was like i had interrupted there 24hour service. The only reason I even gave them one star is because the woman who let us into the tow yard to get into our car was very nice and tried to be helpful.. My husband's car was hit by a drunk driver and totaled. Placer towing was called by chp to clear the seen. My husband had just been in a major accident and was still in shock when the driver told him to get what he needed out of the car. He had maybe three minutes before the car was hauled off. We were not allowed to get into the tow yard until three days later. By then everything we had of value in the car had been stolen. There response, " oh we don't have security camera's set up yet. A++++ My vehicle was badly disabled. Placer towing was sent from my insurance. I got a call within 10 minutes from Kyle who said he was nearby and would see if he could tow me or if we needed a flatbed. After determining a flatbed was needed he sent Marvin who arrived no more than 20-30 minutes later. This was not an easy tow as my front wheel had snapped back and was wedged into the body. He was able to remove the tire and get it onto the truck without doing any further damage to my vehicle. I am extremely impressed!!! We used my phone to call & the call went through right away & we told the lady we would like an update since it's been hours!! She refused to give up her name & only said he bosses name was Marlin. Once we asked to speak to her boss she hung up & has now blocked both of our numbers!!! Don't EVER use this company!!!! What a waste of time. I used them recently to tow a vehicle from my home up to a repair shop in Loomis, I prescheduled the tow and the driver showed up five minutes early. The vehicle was delivered to the service place and returned to me a few days later, again on time. Whoever the woman is who answered the call however, could learn some manners in dealing customers. I couldn't be happier with the service from this company. I had a flat tire and needed the donut tire put on my car. I spoke to the company and they were incredibly nice and understanding. They offered to call me when they were getting close and allowed me to go to a nearby store to wait, since it was 95 degrees outside. Sure enough, they called when they were close. My insurance company had arranged for a tow with Placer Towing from Auburn, California, as my 2000 Honda Accord Coupe, EX model, had started a grinding noise coming from the transmission. It was 7:00 p.m. at night and getting dark. A young man who had identified as Cameron arrived with a regular tow truck. As I had proceeded to let him know that this particular car needed a flat bed tow truck, Cameron got indignant, rude, sarcastic, and a "KNOW IT ALL" attitude. Cameron told me to call my insurance company and cancel the call while he sat in his tow truck for approximately 5 minutes. He proceeded to drive off without ever getting out of his tow truck. The frightening and scary though/thoughts are what if I had a disability or multiple disabilities; was 6 months pregnant; had 3 young, under 5 years old, children with me; or was an elderly person who had mobility issues/problems? To drive off and leave me without offering to find a flat bed tow truck; or to offer to call another tow truck company was downright poor customer service. I don't recommend this particular tow truck company to any one in need of automobile help, for example, change flat tire; battery jump; towing to home or a repair place; or other emergency vehicle services. I wish i could leave negative stars!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The driver showed up as scheduled, in the process of him using the wheel lift on my car, which by the way was being towed for a front driver tire that was showing the thread, not popped still held air. The driver lifted my car to far off the ground and a loud pop was heard, my neighbor watched the whole thing, once my neighbr was seen the driver hurried and got on his way. I was informed and called les shwab since i didnt have to ride to see my car, they said they didnt know of any damage nothing was told to them, i noticed the damage to my car when i picked it up from les shwab later that night and immediately called geico. How dare the driver do damage and not say anything no knock on my door little does he know he was seen by a witness to him doing this and having his hands on both side of his head cussing, my neighbor was out the whole time. Once the driver noticed he was being watched he hurried up and got outta the area and car delivered. This happened July 25th and its now August 7th and no word from the driver who is cowering and not manning up to his mistake he made or tow truck company that employees dishonest people. I have filed a complaint with geico and will be getting my front end fixed. How do you pick up cars with no damage and your driver damages my car and not a word from anybody. Pathetic way to run a business. I will be filing a complaint with the bbb as well.
