This review is specifically for the afternoon tea. We had afternoon tea at 2pm on a Friday. I chose the Bazzar tea which was delicious. The service comes with many courses of treats and food. We tried many different foods we had never eaten before. It was $74 for adults and $35 for the children. Overall it was a great experience!

Nice place. It is pretty fast to get the table for 4. Service and ambience 5 star. For paying $38 per person, it could have more variety. 5 to 6 star hotel in Asian countries has much more to choose for the breakfast buffet. Hence I give food for 4.5

Located in the beautiful hotel Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac. Their breakfast is $35/person or you can order items a-la-carte if you don't want the full breakfast. We got their around 10:00 a.m. We waited about 30 minutes for our party of 4 to be seated. Although our waitress, Isabelle, was very friendly and did her best considering how busy they were, service was a bit slow. It took quite some time for us to receive our food, however, everything tasted good (with exception of cheese blintz; too much bread not enough cheese filling), and was well worth the price. The oatmeal was a bit bland (maybe would have been better if I put the maple syrup in it that came on the side). Nevertheless, it's definitely convenient especially if you're staying at the hotel. Breakfast served from 7:00-11:00 am on weekends. Weekdays ends a bit earlier.

Best breakfast I've ever had. The coffee was delicious the apple juice was very fresh and the pastries were really delicious. The service was very good. And overall the atmosphere was very good.

A beautiful spread of breakfast and brunch items on plush seats with impeccable service and quality. There's creamy scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict on muffins, bacon, Maple syrup ham, sausages, crepes with Maple syrup of course, bread pudding, an array of pastries, fresh loaves of bread (I prefer the flaky croissants) and bagels (there's a toaster as well), an assortment of fruits, cold cuts, smoked salmon, 4 different types of cheeses made in Quebec and a fruit tart for dessert. There's a plethora of fruit juices and fresh coffee. If you want to fill up before a long day exploring the beauty that is Quebec City, this would be a great option! Loved everything about this Chateau.

The best breakfast Buffet bar in Canada! Definitely, I recommend everyone visiting to Quebec City try this yummy buffet! Verity of fresh fruit and good selection of breakfast items. You will not regret it! Specially, if just us you stay in beautiful Chateau Frontenac!

We were offered breakfast for two at Place Dufferin for booking with Hotels and Fine Resorts through American Express. Breakfast gave us full access to the buffet brunch. They have pastries, toast, fish, cheese, yogurts, as well as a selection of hot foods. They have bacon, sausages, eggs, potatoes, beans, crepes, waffles, and maple bacon, which was our favorite. You can order omelettes or eggs Benedict. For drinks, there is a large selection of juices, orange, apple, grapefruit, etc. and they offer everyone coffee. They have tea and milks available to order. The view is great, and they offer newspapers and magazines if you are dining alone. One of my favorite parts was they offered gluten free bread for toast and are flexible enough to make eggs benedict using it! Great for gluten free travelers!

Absolute must do for us when were in Quebec City, what you pay for is totally worth it! Would suggest to do the full menu, we usually come in at 10am for brunch. Cozy interior, polite staff, and if you come in driving, you can leave the car for valet and theyll give you a ticket that you can have validated on the restaurant for the free parking. We usually enjoy a stroll outside and snap photos after a heavy meal.

It is a awesome change from some of the foo foo bistros in old Town Quebec City in that you get a tremendous bang for your buck and quality food cheap at 'Continents. What really gets me is looking at the reviews of this place right after I saw some lady's yelp review of a expensive Quebec City restaurant that complimented the single crispy grape tomato that came with her food. Geez Louise gimme a break. Bottom line if you are visiting Quebec City and happen to have a hot date (or if you want to gawk at people's hot dates) choose the expensive bistro. If you are a tourist with kids, coming to Buffet les Continents is a sure shot and should be a no brainer. It's only a few miles away from the old Town and they have a parking lot. Also kids up to 12 years old are free! Coffee is included too! The salad here was fresh with a decent array of stuff. From cucumbers to tomatoes, spinach to hardboiled eggs. The mussels were tasty, decent sized and not sandy (gotta love that we are in Quebec) and the linguini was cooked pretty well. Meat sauce spaghetti was also pretty good. They had a pretty nice spread overall for a lunch buffet. Pesto pasta, fettuccine, even aisles of food from different continents (hence the name). Hop from one aisle where you go from Greek souvlaki and Greek grilled chicken to the other with mapo tofu and other Asian fare. They also had salmon and several other tasty fishes, and ice cream. Smoked meat at the meat carving station tasted almost as good as the restaurant near my hotel (Radio Cafe in Beaupre) that charged $2.75 extra for a small sprinkling of smoked meat on my poutine. It was no Schwartz on St Laurent in Montreal but it was good. I went back for my third helping of smoked meat. The servers were so gracious. Always telling us bon Appétit and was so happy with the 20% tip we left. It wasn't much being 20% of $15 per adult (and 4 kids eating free) but she was really happy.

We didn't care since it was rainy and was not in a great rush. After us, a few more customers came in and pretty much everyone was doing the AYCE. The way it works is you write down the item # and followed by quantity. They did emphasize that you will be penalized should you waste any food twice before we actually placed our order. We waited a good 20-30 minutes or so before we were served actual food. The waiter did hand us the Japanese seaweed salad quickly as that didn't need to be cooked. BTW, everything is served as 1pc! So in preparation for the long wait, we were ordering our next order as the wait was long. Waiter was handing food 1 by 1. Midway during our lunch we were informed that the French couple eating at the other table was done and that the "OWNER" preferred the French way of ppl eating AYCE. As they hardly ate anything, left and paid AYCE price. I was like what the ....! To top it off we were asked multiple times if we were full. The whole situation was so absurd and laughable. Was I eating for free? Last time I checked I was a paying customer. If they felt cheated regarding the price versus quantity of eating they should have thought of that as NOT all people walking to through their door will eat like a bird! Food wise it was okay. The udon broths were good, we had seafood and spicy beef. Seafood fried rice was good. In terms of sushi and hand roll, fish to rice ratio was 1 to 3. It was pretty much all rice, I guess this is how they make up their margin. Also, no tuna it was just pretty much salmon. Shrimp tempura was okay. The sushi pizza was swimming in mayo. We ordered 1x Grilled Saury but was informed much later that they don't have it. Drinks are not included in the AYCE. So if you want to be harassed and be constantly reminded of how much you shouldn't be eating, then come here. Or if you need a no frill lunch and dinner at a decent pricing then this is the spot for you.

However, the food itself was quite disappointing. It was marketed to us as a high-end, fancy dining experience, but the food quality was meh. It was bland, particularly the rice and veggies. As for the different meat/protein options, it was alright. Nothing shockingly fancy, each individual sauces does complement the meat well, but not as flavourful as I had initially anticipated. The maple duck drumstick was a cool addition as that's something I haven't tried before, but as you can see from the photo, barely any meat.. portion sizes were also not huge as they strive for that "fancy" dining experience. It took a great deal of courage to consume it. And the "loaded baked potato" for the additional $5, was nothing short of having butter on the potato and it was tasteless and limited to about two small bites. The rest of the potato was just potato. I'd also like to bring to your attention a math trick they use to charge clients more. I usually pay my tip based on the total food/drink bill before the taxes are added as I don't wish to pay a tip on the taxes. When they present the check, the tip amounts shown on the check are actually calculated against the food/drink bill total, which is correct in how I look at paying a tip. However, when they present the machine at your table to pay your bill and you choose to add the 15%, 20%, 25% tip to your check, they set up the machine, unbeknownst to the paying client, to calculate the tip against the entire bill, including the taxes, so you pay more in your tip than what they show on the original paper check. I've never seen a restaurant use this ruse to take advantage of its clients' good will. Example: the bill is $1.00 and the taxes are 30% so the total bill would be $1.30. 15% tip should be .15. So the total would be $1.00 plus .15 plus .30, or $1.45. That is what they'd show on the paper check for a 15% tip. However, when you pay using the machine and choose a 15% tip, the tip is calculated against $1.30, so the tip now is .15 x $1.30, or .195 for a total bill of $1,00 plus .30 plus .20 (.195 rounded) or $1.50 vs 1.45. When you do this to everyone on regular meal bills, the restaurant is making an additional income stream by cheating the clients willingly. They know what they are doing with this deceitful practice. They know that no one is going to question them. In the end, I'd never return there because the beef was disgusting and the blatant thievery. Look at the check that I was given and note the tip amount if you choose a 15% tip; it's $14.40. Now look at my bill after choosing to pay a 15% tip; it's $22.08. Almost $8.00 higher. Multiply this swindle times a gazillion clients each month.
