Cozy and delicious. Beautiful dimly lit ambiance with exposed brick, distressed walls and pleasant staff. The menu is well thought out and executed. I love the glance into the open kitchen and always opt for counter seating. I haven't been in a few years but we decided to come over for a light dinner after checking out their latest venture Golden Ratio a few doors down. Shared the carrot cavatelli and crispy maitake and some red. The glaze on the cavatelli had a delicious smoky, meaty taste to it and the maitake was perfectly crispy. 10/10 recommend.

My partner planned my birthday dinner for the two of us here! The candle light was a nice touch and the place itself was the perfect level of dim. Although I will say the tables are quite snug together and I felt risqué sliding between my neighbors table to get to the inner seat They gave complimentary champagne and a handwritten birthday card which was a lovely surprise! We ordered an olive oil cake slice with pistachios and mascarpone creme. Taste wise didn't stand out particularly but it was beautiful and came with a little birthday candle in it My favorite dish was the bonito with hazelnut and passion fruit sauce. Hope to come back for another special occasion and maybe try out the side-by-side seating at the picnic table

Upping to 5 stars because this place is awesome. Returned for dinner, booking ahead for a group of 4. They were amazing about accommodating a bunch of allergies in our party! This time, I tried: + Rhubarb cosmo + Laurel sourdough + crispy maitake mushroom + Little gem + carraflex cabbage + grilled short rib + Tuna belly toast + Mortadella + Campanelle + Basque cheesecake + chocolate choux Cocktail was great. Food highlights were the mushroom, tuna belly toast, campanelle and desserts. Also liked the cabbage and mortadella. They had another reservation coming in, so we had to shift to bar seating for dessert - and they comped us a cucumber sorbet, which was a nice touch!

This Spanish wine bar located in Brooklyn is truly a gem. The inside of the restaurant is romantic, warm, and inviting. The staff here is so friendly and helpful in giving recommendations for both food, wine pairings, and just wine in general. When I went, I got the fluke, sweet potato, santa maria steak, and one of their specials that day. Everything was delicious, but my favorite dish was definitely the sweet potato with caviar. It just had a phenomenal kombu-based sauce that I really loved. Their desserts were also delicious and I loved the squash gelato. All of the wines that I had this night were also amazing, and I would come back just for the wines. Highly highly recommend!

Outstanding experience. I sat at the bar without a reservation. My server, Morgan, was lovely. He made great recommendations and was very attentive (even for a busy night) I got the sardine toast (an absolute MUST if you enjoy seafood). The bread was made at their sister restraint and had the perfect toast. I also ordered the lamb tartar with chickpea crapes. This was very savory... with the perfect amount of freshness from the garbanzo beans - absolutely delicious! I also had the flan. It was light and came in a different format than i was expecting. What a perfect end to my meal. I will absolutely come again, and definitely will be making this a "must go" spot every time I'm in town.

A disappointing restaurant, though perhaps a better wine-bar experience. Another wine bar with a French name and a vaguely mediterranean menu (if you squint). Some dishes were unique (the crispy maitake mushrooms were a highlight; the pork rib chop was small but tender and delicious), others were a fair bit underwhelming (thinly sliced mortadella; a few pieces of lettuce with green goddess dressing). At this price point, I would have expected more of *something*: more quantity, more taste, more adventurous dishes. That said, the service was quick and prompt, especially on water refills (an area where many competitors leave you out to dry). The setting was intimate and cozy as well. The place was busy and humming but not loud at all.

Choux Craqulin.

A friend and I made a stop here on a weeknight for a drink. This cute wine bar has a cozy, yet clean feel. We got a bar seat in the back where we were able to watch them slice up some salami, which was fun. For drinks, I had the Nectarine Sling ($17). This was light and refreshing with the sweetness from the nectarine. It's a tad pricey for a simple cocktail, but was delicious. Since we just had dinner, I decided to opt for the Choux Craqulin ($15) for dessert. It's a nice sized choux filled with a blueberry compote in the middle. The flavors were well balanced and not too sweet, so I enjoyed this. Despite that, it's quite expensive for a dessert item though.

Iberico pork collar. Cavatelli.

Excellent wine. Great service. Delicious food. Everything we ordered was amazing. The sardine toast was the perfect mix of salty (the fish) and savory (the butter) and tart (the grapefruit kosho). The iberico pork collar and cavatelli were both rich and flavorful, and they complemented each other very well. The choux pastry dessert was not too sweet, with the seasonal grape compote and the creative soba cha cream. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.

Amazing meal, space, menu, team, loved it all. We sat at the bar, food came quickly once we figured out what we wanted to order and the team was great explaining everything to us. Would recommend anything on the menu as we didn't have a single weak dish. Dessert was also fantastic. I'll be thinking about the fried mushrooms for a long while.

The last Place des Fêtes I went to was a quiet station on Metro Line 7bis, the Franklin Avenue shuttle equivalent of Paris, in the uncelebrated 19ème. This Place des Fêtes was far more welcoming and befitting of its celebratory name. From a vegetarian's standpoint, the destination dish here is the maitake mushroom with black garlic fudge, whose flavor is as elusive as its title. It pairs well with the sourdough, of which we consumed far too much. In the spirit of the upcoming fête of unleaveaned bread, we also tried the farinata, which came with a smoky mix of garbanzo and avocado and was a lovely light addition to the meal.

On a night we weren't sure what we wanted to do, lucky enough to snag two seats at the bar. What a great experience. Food was unique and amazingly fresh and delish. Service was superb and friendly. Loved it

Mussels and Mushrooms

I really do believe I was born to hang out and eat at places like this. I don't think it is necessary for every restaurant to prioritize their vibe, but there is something so magical when the food, drinks, service, and vibe come together in the right way. We foolishly ate pizza and were verging on full before we came, but once we got dinner seating instead of bar seating, we made room for some more snacks. Place des Fetes recommends everything be shared, and that a table orders 3-5 plates per person. Instead, we went with the popular Bangs Island Mussels en Verde and Crispy Maitake Mushroom small dishes. The mussels had a great bright green sauce that makes it appealing for even the least seafood friendly person at the table. The mushrooms were served fried with a black garlic fudge. So, so delicious. Yes, this is a wine bar.. but we couldn't help ourselves but to order cocktails. I got the Yuzu Collins which essentially tasted like 7up. My friend made the genius decision to get a Margarita. I promise you, this is the best balanced margarita I've ever had. Really great balance of each element. And of course, once we knew there was a dessert menu, I needed to have it. We ordered the Basque Cheesecake (plum and magnolia) and the Choux Craquelin with Soba Cha and Grape. I'm not typically a cheesecake fan so while I thought it was good I wasn't too impressed. The choux on the other hand... amazing and fantastic. Literally yum! Also check out their bathroom - an individual towel for every customer TLDR -- Definitely come, do not stuff yourself with pizza before, make a reservation as soon as possible, and be prepared to spend some money.

We split a bottle of one of the lightly chilled chiantis the Fiasco and it was perfection. We mainly got the winter specials which were the asparagus, smoked eel, duck salad and scallops which were all truly phenomenal. The scallop dish was quite small so not the best for sharing but the rest were all amazing. From the regular menu we got the mushroom toast which was absolutely delicious and great for sharing and the pork chop which is one of the best dishes I have ever had. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and was incredibly juicy. For dessert, we got the creme brûlée which I am also still thinking about and one of the best desserts I have ever had. Tasty cocktails but I do wish they had more options on the menu -- there are only 3 cocktails to order from. Half chicken with scallion ginger sauce was pricey for the portion size with no sides but perfectly cooked and seasoned. Chocolate dessert was also fantastic!

Everything on the menu looked amazing, so I had the waiter choose my dish/wine pairing and he did a great job! I got the pesto with shrimp. The pasta is handmade and the wine is natural from Italy. Instead of picking a wine from a menu, you tell your server the flavor and mood of wine you're looking for and they bring out glasses or a bottle for you based on that. The food here is delicious and I was happy to see gluten free pasta options. The pork ragu was good but I was truly impressed by how good the texture of the gluten free pasta was. For me, the show stopper was the branzino. It was seasoned perfectly and the potato crust was a fun touch. The salad was nice and simple, but didn't blow me away. Portion sizes were good, though the prices are on the higher side. The restaurant is a great place for a friends' night or date night, and I'd keep the group small or make a reservation in advanced because it gets busy. It is definitely a more expensive spot, but worth it!
