    Cold Brew Shaken Espresso
    Brenda K.

First time here. Went inside since I wasn't sure what to order. The staff was very helpful and did not rush me. I ordered a pralines and cream, cold brew shaken espresso. Very tasty. The service was fast. The restaurant seemed like a nice place just to hang out and have your morning coffee. I don't live nearby, and was just in the area, but would definitely stop by again.

My "Large" Peach Palmer in an obviously smaller sized cup.

We're frequent customers at PJ's Coffee and truly want to support our local business owners, but our experience has been inconsistent--and today was especially disappointing. We regularly order the same drinks, yet the quality, pricing, and service vary each time we visit. Today, I redeemed loyalty points for a free drink and ordered my usual large White Mocha--no issues there. However, the drink I ordered for my daughter, a large Peach Palmer with Mango Boba, was clearly not a large. When I politely questioned the size, the employee informed me that PJ's had recently reduced the drink sizes but kept the same names. She showed me what is now considered a medium, which was even smaller than what we were given as a "large." She wasn't able to show me a small at all. If the cup sizes have indeed been reduced but the prices remain the same, that's really frustrating--especially for loyal customers who notice the difference. I genuinely want to support this business, but changes like this, without transparency, make it difficult. We value consistency, honesty, and good service--hoping PJ's can return to delivering all three.

It's the Iced Chai Tea Latté

Ughh... yuck I spent 17$ for two medium size coffee and they came out disgusting!!! Disappointing I do not recommend this place at all!truly disappointed and will never come back to the spot. If I wanted a bottle of syrup I would've just bought it from the store and added water to it

Stumbled upon this great small business when stopping for gas off I-29 South in Platte City. Very inviting atmosphere with plenty of space for seating and a separate room for meeting, etc. Had a hot 20oz latte and it was definitely hot and tasty. The employees were friendly, professional and prices which beat the major chains. Will revisit on my next Omaha trip.

Private room that can be used if not reserved, two other chairs are not shown

We were in this area for business and decided to try out this coffee shop. It had a variety of seating to choose from and a room that can be reserved with 4 leather armchairs. We used it because no one had reserved it at the time we were there. It is a casual and homey place with good service and a wide variety of various beverages and bakery/food choices as well. My husband had a panini and a green tea with blue raspberry syrup. I had a gluten free chocolate chunk brownie and an iced oat milk latte with sugar free caramel syrup. My brownie was delicious but my the syrup in my latte tasted rather chemical (fake). My husband's panini was good and his ice tea was good in general but he felt the flavored syrup also tasted overly saccharine like. It is possible if I would have not gotten the sugar free syrup that it would have been fine. I notice some coffee shops sugar free syrups taste good and others have that "chemical" taste to them.

What a nice addition to Platte City. A coffee shop that you can enjoy on the go with the drive thru or inside with a group in their cozy seating areas. A New Orleans vibe as soon as you walk in from the smell of fresh beignets and coffee. We ordered a beignet, a kids smoothie, pumpkin iced coffee and a mocha. The service was fast and friendly. My daughter didn't care for her smoothie so we had to throw it away. They used a lot of cream so it was not to her liking. We thought it would be more fruit based. My pumpkin drink was ok. I wasn't able to finish it as I like a little more coffee than the added flare. My husband enjoyed his mocha. The beignets was wonderful and fresh. A nice treat if you can't travel to Louisiana.

    An overwhelming and clustered counter

When I saw PJ's Coffee had opened in Platte City I had confused them with PT's Coffee - the Topeka roaster that has a few locations in the metro. I later saw a photo of the shop - boasting "New Orleans style coffee" I was intrigued and after doing some research, I made a drive up to Platte City to check them out. Based in New Orleans for the past 40+ years, they have grown to 180 franchise locations from Fl to Co to NJ. The Platte City location is the third in Missouri and the only one in the metro. I ordered Beignet's and in keeping with the French Quarter theme a Praline & Cream Latte. No issues with either product that I consumed while dining in. price points were in line and the cashier / barista was efficient and brought my 2 items to my table instead of calling my name twice. Always bonus points for providing customer service and not making the customer get up from their table. My small complaints: Beignets - have a variety. The traditional were warm and sweet but maybe offer several different fillings or toppings. The ordering counter - It's a cluste#*uck. With so many food pics, stacks of cups, and decorations; it's nearly impossible to see the menu boards on the wall, and even they aren't complete. I would not have known beignets were available if I hadn't looked on line before going. With so few coffee shops in the Northland, I'm glad they are here and if I lived in PC I'd be a regular, but they they didn't wow be enough to make the 20 minute drive again.

What a great place to just go in and sit for a bit and clear ones mind and catch a great cup of brew. Baristas are friendly and helpful. Generally neutral bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Lovely baked goods - croissants, scones, muffins, and cookies. They have a drive thru. I was so glad to find this gem of a coffee shop on a trip to Platte City today. I will be back. They also have cool merch and bags of beans on sale.

Yum!! Great little coffee shop! The feta spinach croissant was absolutely delicious!! They cooked it for the perfect amount of time to make the cheese gooey but the croissant crispy. The coffee was good too. Staff seemed stressed but worked well!

Young man with integrity! An elderly man accidentally tipped $100. The cashier took notice and addressed the man politely. It was a mistake and the man was refunded the tip. The coffee shop has a lively vibe with plants, earthy warm wood tables and local products for sale along with the PJs merch. My white chocolate mocha latte is pretty good, too.

(Especially in this economy) While ordering online, be aware that the time it says on the ordering portal/site is not generally accurate. I, on multiple occasions, have ordered something with a specific pick up time selected (I left plenty of time, thirty minutes from when I ordered to when I wanted to pick it up) and the food still was not ready. Ex: ordered at 11:30 am, pick up time of 11:55-12:00, food was ready closer to 12:10 and I received the 'your food is ready text' at 12:45 pm. While this isn't a bad thing if you have time, if you're on a tight lunch schedule I'd look otherwise. This location is also a bit smaller than their Parkville location, so if it's crowded it's very noticeable and can get a little overwhelming. I do prefer the Platte City location to Parkville though, as their Parkville location doesn't do that good of a job when I order online (this may just be me but I have to take it into consideration). Overall, I do recommend it, just be aware that it is pricey, when packed it can get a little overwhelming, and be aware of how long you have to eat.

I love the various options on their menu. They serve a variety of deli meats and cheeses, available to go as well as on sandwiches. The wall of chips is impressive too! The bagel was incredibly fresh, with a warm, slightly chewy texture reminiscent of homemade bread. My drink was made with half the usual sweetness, using creamy oat milk, and had a rich, balanced flavor that was very satisfying. I got an iced tea, and my wife ordered a hot tea, both of which arrived quickly. They took our food order efficiently too, so no complaints about the service speed. For food, my wife went with a breakfast scramble served with an English muffin, and I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with hashbrowns and toast. The food came out hot and fast, but that's where the positives end. My wife's scramble looked nice but lacked flavor and was overcooked to the point of being hard. The English muffin was just okay, nothing special. My omelet was a letdown. It had a single slice of unmelted cheese slapped on top, barely any ham, and the egg was dry and tough. The hashbrowns were undercooked, and the toast was dry as well. Overall, not a great experience. If you're starving and have no other options, Roxanne's might do in a pinch, but don't expect much.
