Took my brother here for birthday brunch, since I had read and heard it was good. It's attached to a TREX truckstop and not huge, so if they are busy might be a wait. I had a shortstack, sausage & eggs. The birthday boy had the protein plate, with a biscuit. He says he knows that ruined it being a protein plate but it's what he wanted. The service was good and the TREX store fun. We also visited the antique mall across the street, which was pretty cool. The pancakes were to die for. I only eat them a couple times a year so this place will stay on the list for good ones. It wasn't too loud so you could have a conversation and the booths were comfy. Clean, well run establishment with a nice place to use the necessary. Those of us ladies of a certain age can appreciate those things. This was my second or third time eating here. I gotta tell you that it's good. Service is good and they stay on top of getting your needs met. The pancakes are huge My one wish that I will never understand why it's not a common entree on a breakfast menu - I just want a dish that has pancakes, meat (bacon/sausage) and eggs. I don't want to have to order one of those items ala carte, but so be it - it was still good. Food is always good - service isn't. The person that wiped off our table and gave us menus was scowling and said nothing. Our waitress took our order and never came back to see if we needed anything else. Flagged her down for more napkins- never brought them, or our check. The cafe wasn't busy either. One day we decided to try this place out and have been going ever since. This place is located in the truck stop. Makes it very convenient. You stop for gas, can have a nice home cooked meal and check out all the good stuff in the truck stop. I, myself, love to check out truck stops and see what kind of stuff I can find. The Cafe has delicious food. You also will want to come hungry because the portions are pretty good sized. I usually get the catfish dinner or the shrimp basket. Both are delicious. The catfish is so tender it falls apart and the homemade tartar sauce for it is just as good! The shrimp basket comes with a good amount of nice crispy shrimp along with regular fries or curly fries. Personally, I love the curly fries. But either are delicious. The shrimp is crunchy yet tender. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. Also, every booth & table also has its out outlet so you can charge your phone or any electronic you have with you. Super convenient and not something you see a whole lot of (at least I dont). The atmosphere gives you a "hometown" vibe with friendly and knowledgeable servers. The diner is in a truck stop, but it is totally separate and serves good food. Stopped in Country Cafe on our way to Chiefs game for breakfast. Wanting to get in and out. They did not disappoint. Service was great and food came out super fast and delicious. 4 hungry guys were full and very satisfied with everything including the price. Went to eat here now 2 days in a row and both times we sat for 1hr and no food with our children. No refills on drinks as well. My husband had to go into the gas station portion to get us drinks. Our food sat at the window for 30min and waitress even kept telling us our food will be out soon. Tables around us were already served and gone x2! My husband finally just went up to pay so we could leave, asked if we wanted our food and he told her about how it's been sitting there and she has grabbed other plates and has seen our order plenty of times. A man behind him to pay had told her that he was sitting at their bar and those plates have in fact been there and it wasn't right to make children wait for a pancake. This morning I had the most amazing breakfast at the Country Cafe. Service was fast and friendly and the food was served hot. I ate the country fried steak breakfast with two eggs, hash browns and toast. The country fried steak was moist, tender, and tasty. No part of the country fried steak was dry which is usually the case. I left the cafe satisfied and happy from the great food and friendly service.
