It is clear from the reviews and the menu that you come here for the pizza! Don't order the special! I was intrigued by the sliced sirloin with Parmesan and salad. The waitress said it was good. It is high protein, low carbs. Sounds like a responsible choice. NOT. Don't ask a pizza chef to make a steak? It came out the first time raw. I think the waitress, who was very nice, understood medium. However the cooks did not. We sent it back. Some time later it came back well, well done. This is sirloin. It is going to be tough. However, no parmesan, no dressing, no questions. I sawed through it for a while before telling the waitress it was missing all the lure of the special; cheese, salad, sauce, etc. read more

Ample portions just like Mamma used to make--that is, if she had access to a big wood burning pizza oven. I've had my fair share of hipster pizza joints in the US and I'm happy to say that this place beats them all and has none of the attitude. Great service (as much as enjoyed reading that negative review about a rude waiter, I can't imagine anyone I saw being like that. On the contrary, they were all charming). I had pizza with gorgonzola and ample prosciutto (cured + cooked). Along with a side or an appetizer you could easily split one and feel well fed. Pasta dishes also looked amazing. read more

WAITER WAS VERY ANTI-AMERICAN!!!! I don't even know what to say, or how to rate this. We had a nice evening, food was good, atmosphere was nice, service was good. We went to pay by credit card. In the US, when you pay by credit card, they take your card to the machine, swipe it, and bring back the receipts. In England, they bring the card reader to your table, you put it in the machine, it prints out the receipt. My husband said to the waiter that he liked the way they do it in England, that he wished we did it that way in America. The waiter replied that they do everything better in England. Ha ha, no big deal. Then the waiter starts telling us that America is going to blow itself up. Okay, that's a little dark there, but we tried to keep it light. Then, he said when 9/11 happened, he APPLAUDED! He was HAPPY WHEN THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE WERE KILLED! We should have asked for the manager, but we were so stunned and sickened by his words, we just left. I don't care what your views are, you don't tell your customers that you were happy when their country experienced the worst terrorist attack ever on their soil! You keep it to yourself. The customer is paying your wages and tips. Americans spend a lot of dollars on tourism in the UK. As a visitor from the states, southern New Jersey to be specific, I was unsure about the London dining scene, but had modest expectations as far as fish and chips and other British specialties go. Pizzicotto happened to be just less than a mile from our apartment and we stumbled on it our first night. The place is small and intimidate, and offers some sound proofing to help contain loud groups. The food was outstanding! My group of 4 all acknowledged the food was well above average, and reasonably priced. I had the special pizza with the acorn fed ham, which became a side joke during our trip. The others had assorted dishes and appetizers, and then deserts. Everything was excellent. Some of the best tiramisu I've had lately. But, the meal wasn't everything. And when it comes to extras, the staff at Pizzicotto went the extra mile, as only the best Italian restaurants do. They were never intrusive, but invited us to try their limoncello, which was outstanding. And when I asked for the bill, they again brought more limoncello. Went here last night and had a great meal with the family. We ordered some pizzas and my son ordered the spaghetti with clams. He loved it! I had a pizza with argula and Parma - one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. My wife got the burrata for a starter - it was so creamy and delicious. We were group of 6, 4 adults and 2 kids, visiting from America Hotel concierge recommended this restaurant for Italian food Staff are very polite and attentive Family friendly restaurant We ordered different foods including: Spaghetti, pizza, Salads In my opinion, was authentic Italian food, Everything was very delicious, much different than Italian food, I'm used to in the states. Cute establishment...two of us decided to impulsively stop by for a pizza here, noting that it could turn out expensive if the pizzas were of piddly proportions but gosh, we feel foolish now to have even thought that. It took us some time to decide on a pizza from the excellent range on offer, especially as one of the party wanted to avoid unpasteurized cheeses for health reasons, and we settled on the Napoleane which sounded relatively mainstream in its list of ingredients vs. other options but we were pleasantly surprised at the sheer quality and beautiful presentation of the ingredients - yum! Have a trip to Italy coming up soon and I feel like this was the perfect reminder of the good times to come :) read more

It's a little tricky, as these restaurants stand the challenge of being up to par with those glorious meals I once had all over Tuscany. Pizzicotto, I'm happy to say, has been one of the few places around the world that actually took me to that perfect afternoon in Firenze , when I was having a glass of Vin Santo in front of the river, after having had one of those amazing meals. Went here with a colleague who is vegetarian. He ordered the margherita pizza and I ordered one with some sausage on it...I can't remember the name...only that is was amazing. We only had 30 minutes for lunch and they came through. The service was amazing. I had paid for the bill before the food came out which is especially important when you have very little time.
