Not another review about I Love Frankie's!…read more First time trying. My parents used to own a very well known and favorite Greek pizza place in Norwich, CT. I've never been a big fan of Italian, NY style. And the wait times I keep hearing about here??! I didn't experience that. And if you have experienced a long wait time...all I'm saying is that it's worth it. We got a medium pepperoni and mac and cheese this afternoon around 11:30. I called it in. My husband picked it up after his drs. appt, which was 9 mins away. They quoted 15 to 20 minutes and my husband said he didn't have to wait to pick it up. We are both pizza snobs and I definitely didn't think he was going to like it, but holy cow! Our remarks were that the the pizza sauce was beautifully robust, with high notes of pepper, which, in our opinion, wasn't overpowering, but a bold choice, instead of making a mild marinara, honorably sticking to their own tastes and representing THEIR own flavors. The mac and cheese? This is where I can't. Because I caaaant! Holy deliciousness. Again? Picky mac and cheese-ers and their's is the stuff dreams are made of. Thick. Creamy. Probably setting you back a lbs or two, and maybe a year or two. But worth the richness. The pepperoni cups were crisp, as was the crust. I, initially, hated that they displayed basil leaves on their creations, but I'll say this adds SO much flavor. They seem to use baby basil leaves for appearance, but I'm not sure. It makes the pizza, however. The fresh basil is excellent. Overall? I can't wait to try their vodka sauce and Philly cheesesteaks! What I love is that it seems like the family is very priced conscious, for us. Not greedy. All of the items are very fairly priced. We ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and Mac and cheese. This is literally going to be about five meals for us! Their medium pizza is larger than most pizza restaurants large!

It was as good as my favorite North End Spots. Why 5 stars- The excitement around the food creations. Quality and authentic Italy. The thing that caught me was the place still looked brand new. It wasn't a sign of a restaurant that had been there running out the course. This place was alive. I will be back.

They also had a Cesar Salad and that was awesome! The decor is cute and comfortable with plenty of lighting and had a great vibe. There was even a trivia night going on when we were there. There's also something to be said about exceptional service everyone here is genuinely nice, and that really makes a difference. For the wings alone we'd be back to try the other flavors (Maple Mustard and Mango Habanero). We are craving Pepperoni and Hot Honey, and their version with a ricotta ''sauce' instead of a red sauce was totally the right move! It gave the pizza a more cheesier taste and showcased the cup pepperonis and hot honey flavors. Our only qualm was that there wasn't enough hot honey. We food the thinner Artisan crust too be light and still provide enough body to carry the load. Maybe they could have par- bashed the crust before putting the toppings on to make the 'underbelly' crisper, but it was great regardless. Their list of craft cocktails was good, but nothing jumped off the page. And a lack of wine choices (my gf likes Moscato - tbh not many places carry Moscato, so it's not a big deal) and no be menu made it a lotto he frustrating to know what to drink. The server was attentive and made sure we had clean plates and plenty to drink. The runner was friendly, as were the greeters. Overall, we'd come back for another meal. The Specialty Dinners almost had us choosing them over the pizza; they were that enticing! There's enough variety for everyone, and your little ones wouldn't be disappointed either.
