This was one of my favorite spots when I lived closer. Recently I had to take my partner for a procedure at the hospital nearby and enjoyed some Pizzabar happy hour while I waited. Staff was super friendly just like before. I was happy with my slices. Will always return to this place when I can. I had such a positive experience at Pizza Bar. The hot honey pizza was amazing. Ranch is good too! As a chocolate cookie girl, I don't recommend it BUT only $8 for a slice and a cookie. Very affordable for college students, Inside was sparkly clean. I was surprised by how lively it was inside. Could definitely celebrate something here. Outside seating is awesome for pet owners, bring your dog and stay outside. I was helped by the sweetest girl with curly brown hair, with the coolest gel nails, and a red headband. Good pizza with a sports bar vibe. It took about 20 minutes for our pie to come out which was pretty good. Wow! I don't say this lightly, but this place is in a tie with Bonjournos for best pizza in North County. The crust is perfection- thin, crispy and just the right amount of chewiness. We tried several different slices: Buffalo chicken, Bbq Chicken, pepperoni with hot honey and Hawaiian. We couldn't pick a favorite- they were all amazing! We found the staff to be very sweet and helpful. The restaurant interior was clean, bright and spacious and would work well for large parties. Tried this place since it had decent reviews but after trying their food, not sure I had the same food as all these other people giving 3-4 stars. I ordered 12 pieces of chicken wings and 18" of mixed meat and veggie pizza. I struggled to finish the first and last slice. It tasted like food that was in the freezer for too long but not sure if it was the pizza crust or the veggies or both that this freezer taste was coming from. The chicken wings were just too dry. Soggy on the outside and dry/brittle/tasteless meat on the inside. I tried 2 pieces and though I'm still pretty hungry, I can't bring myself to have more of this. read more

Pros and cons.... We have loved Pizza Bar for a quick dinner and we also really enjoy the fact that they do 2Good2Go (an app that allows you to pick up restaurant leftovers at close for very very discounted prices!) but there are a few things that make it a little bit less of a fav for us. First of all, the prices for single slices are absolutely ridiculous. $4 for one slice of pizza is just wild for the quality. Second, the staff and cleanliness is really not the greatest. For example, the last time we were there - It was about 45 mins before close and we were picking up a few slices for dinner. The little signs that say which pizza is which were missing and we were having trouble deciding, so the young lady at the register came over and told us the names of each pizza. The only problem with that, is that she stuck the entire tip of her finger into each slice she pointed to. Carrying sauce and all to the next pizza. I was shocked. I seriously couldn't help but burst out laughing. She had been on register handling cash and such too and hadn't even washed her hands before she decided to stick them right onto at least one slice of each of the pizzas! I can only imagine what she does when no one is looking?? She was very nice, just a tremendous lack of training or knowledge or manners or something. Bummed to write this because as you can see in my past review, this place had previously been great with customer service. Went to order online for PICK UP this evening (with hours advance notice because it is Halloween), and their ordering site says there's an automatic 20% gratuity added because it's Halloween and there's extra staff. Would have cost me $70 to PICK UP 2 pizzas. Could i possibly understand and auto grat on delivery on a holiday, mayyyybe. But to come pick up my pizza in a box and leave with it, because it's Halloween? Pizza bar has been a staple in the family ever since it opened. I go here regularly for their lunch specials and order whole pizza pies on the weekend when we have family over. It's always been friendly service and good food. However I have to say lately the toppings on their pizzas have been minimal. I posted an example of the recent order I got. The pesto and mushroom slice has been my all time favorite. I almost always order it as one of the slices in the two slice combo. Normally the pizza would be topped with mushrooms with several dollops of whipped goat cheese. The last slice I got barely had any mushrooms and two sad little squirts of goat cheese. :( I know ingredients are expensive, but this is just sad. read more

The ingredients here indicate high quality: ricotta, blue cheese, artichoke hearts. Super easy parking right out front. Her reply was that it hadn't been updated. We both ordered a beer and asked about lunch specials which she also told us incorrect information. We paid for our beers and left. We won't be back. Flippin' Pizza used to be in this spot. It had its fans. I wasn't one of them. I don't know why but I had low expectations for PizzaBar. But I was very pleasantly surprised with how good it was. The place is far more spacious than you might think from the outside. They also have an absolutely beautiful bar inside with four TVs for your sports needs. The decor and color scheme inside is very cool and sleek, too. By the way, their draft beer menu is terrific. I'd say there were at least 16 choices, most of them local and high quality. How's the pizza? Really, really good. It's a little thicker than traditional New York style pizza and I'm not complaining. My slices were very fresh and delicious. Speaking of which, I will support just about any place that sells pizza by the slice. There were eight options during my visit. I sampled the Buffalo Chicken (very good), Meat Lovers (even better) and the BBQ Chicken (excellent). My only knock? It's pricey. Four bucks a slice is pricey. Worth it? I'd say yes. I appreciate the fact that they put work into this restaurant and didn't just reuse the existing decor. It looks great.. This is a slices place with plenty of larger tables and booths..
