It has been so long since we have had the salad with the signature Pink Stuff dressing. So glad to have found a Pizza Shoppe near us. This store was in Blue Springs. They had my favorite beer on tap, KC Bier Company Dunkle. The cheesy Garlic bread was as good as we remembered. We got Veggie Pizza sans the Artichoke Hearts and Feta was delightful. Lots of green pepper. The pepperoni was not too spicy, but definitely has a kick. Two Queen Pizzas will give us good eating over the weekend. Service was good with a convivial server. There were several families and couples when we arrived and when we left the crew was cleaning up. So glad to find this store nearby. We.missed the Pizza Shoppe. read more

We ordered a King Pizza ($25.50) from Pizza Shoppe and used a coupon for a free Prince Pizza. When we got home, the King pizza was overdone. After contacting the restaurant, they offered to remake it, but by the time we would have waited, picked it up, and returned home, it would have been another 45-50 minutes. We requested a refund instead. The King Pizza was refunded, but the Prince Pizza was not. The owner mentioned she felt the pizza was only "slightly" overcooked. Be aware that when you order online, this restaurant will not honor the coupons you see online!! You have to order by phone, print the coupon, take it with you to the restaurant and hope they will honor it. The coupon states boldly: "Exclusive Web Site Coupon". This doesn't mean it applies if you order online. Very misleading. I even called while ordering and talked with Tammy who assured me that they would help me when I came to get my pizzas. HORRIBLE customer service!!! We have eaten here many times as residents of Blue Springs. We came to dinner with family. We each had orders. One half of the party order came out in a timely manner. The waitress told me my pizza was still in the oven and would be out soon. We waited and waited. We saw several parties who came in after us get their orders and we still didn't receive our pizza. I asked the waitress again if our pizza was coming and if I had ordered it. She said one of our pizza orders was lost in the kitchen but my to Go order pizza was ready to go. She offered to bring me the to go pizza, and I said no because it was not for us. At This time, it had been an hour. I went up to the bar to talk with a manager. Manager said when they get multiple orders from dining room or bar area, sometimes orders get split up. I said they didn't make any sense since both orders were put in at same time. The order was NEVER put in, it wasnt lost! The owner came to the cash register and asked what happened, the waitress said the pizza was lost in the kitchen and she was giving me 10% off. So, $6 off my order of over $60 after having to wait over an hour and time it was lost when it was never put in!! The OWNER came to our table; came stomping around the corner, aggressive and defensive pointing her finger at us. She said wait times were long and people have had to wait. We said it's not a wait time; the pizza was never put in!!! The owner said 10% off was all she was going to do. She said what more do you want, if we give the pizza for free, you can't have it. We said that's awful customer service to treat a customer that way and only get 10% discount for a mistake the server made. She said what do you want? At that time, I just said forget it and paid the bill. We Didn't expect anything for free, nor did we ask for anything free. She was the most rude person I've ever met! We placed a to go order last night and the woman who took the order was rude and pushy and had no manners. When we went to pick the order up there was nobody to assist us. When someone finally did they took our payment and then just pushed our order to us and walked away. No manners. The mac and cheese was dry and a very small portion for the price. The pizza was dry. It's not great. Pizza toppings are interchangeable, so I usually grade pizza by dough quality, and sauce. The crust almost had a crescent flake texture to it and was tougher than a $2 steak. We went so the kids could play games and we could have dinner while watching some games an all in one. When she came to pick up the order she ran into people she knew that invited her into their party in the party room. So, she went into the restaurant got her order and took it back to the party room to visit with her friends and have dinner together. The OWNER came storming after her yelling and screaming that she couldn't place a to go order then eat it in the restaurant. The owner was yelling the boxes were expensive and it was a new rule and the older lady needed to respect the rules of the business. The older lady caught off guard by this said she didn't know and she had planned to take her pizza to go that is why she ordered it to go so the boxes wouldn't be wasted. The OWNER then stormed back to the kitchen. The older lady was shaken and crying to the point she needed comforting by the people around her. They asked exactly what happened and why the OWNER decided to attack her and get into her personal space? The older lady explained why it happened. Everyone was apologizing to the older lady saying it was their fault for inviting her to their celebration when they saw her. The other customers were apologizing to the older lady because apparently, she had just suffered 3 great losses her daughter, husband and father and this was the first time she attempted to eat or socialize outside of her house. It makes sense why she had ordered her food to go because apparently, she doesn't leave the house except for food but she decided to step out of her comfort zone for the first time on this day only to get attacked. It didn't stop there the older lady did not get attacked just once by the owner but TWICE!! The owner came storming back into the room and got in the older lady's face pointed her finger in the older lady's face saying "Hey! I am trying not to be rude but if you don't shut up and stop talking about it I am going to get rude and even kick you out. I am the owner I can say what I want and make what rules I want, and people HAVE to follow them." This time since the other people were now aware of what was going on a lady from the group that invited the older lady in stepped up and asked questions to the owner. The younger lady asked, "You speak of rules are these rules posted somewhere? Are these rules listed on the website?" The owner rudely said well no they are new rules that we have made. The younger lady said, "oh so there is no way anyone would know of these rules since they are new and not posted anywhere." The owner was like well that doesn't make a difference rules are rules. The younger lady said, "how are people supposed to know about new rules if they are not on your website posted in your business and are completely different than any rules before?" The OWNER yelled this doesn't concern you I am talking to her pointing her finger back in the old lady's face. I think the OWNER now realizes how ignorant she was making herself look. the OWNER had a few choicer words with the older lady then stormed off again. All of this upset my children and we asked for a box, so we could take our food home to have a calm family meal since the OWNER ruined that for us. Funny thing is our family did not get attacked for ordering our food first then getting a box and taking it to go. All I could think the entire time while I packed up my food is WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?!? WHY AM I NOT GETTING ATTACKED?!? seriously what is the difference of ordering to go and eating in the restaurant then ordering in the restaurant and taking it to go? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!! To the OWNER if the boxes are that expensive that you must attack your paying customers maybe you should change your business to dine in only, but I don't know who would want to dine in at your establishment when they risk getting attacked. That poor older lady had been through enough and the last thing she needed was to be attacked by the person that should be giving her all to make the customers experience great. I ate at this Pizza Shoppe for the first time today. I got there after the lunch hour, so, once the three guys at the next table left, I had the place to myself. The server was sitting at the counter, eating her lunch as I came in, but she quickly jumped up and greeted me cheerfully, asked me if I was familiar with their menu, then told me about the lunch specials. She answered my questions about their salads, then gave me a few minutes to peruse the menu before coming back for my order. I ordered the lunch special with the mini pizza (pepperoni, easy on the sauce, please), the small house salad (dry, please, "Pink Stuff" on the side), and a Coke. I showed her my $2 off coupon, and she said she'd enter it when she rang up my order. She brought the salad and the Coke almost immediately. The salad was super fresh, and piled high in the bowl. I ate about half of it (dry), then pushed it, and the Pink Stuff across the table to my hubby, who had joined me there (he ate at Mr. Goodcents, but that's another story), and he finished it off. Then, the mini pizza was served super-hot, fresh from the oven. It smelled so good that I really had to restrain myself to let it cool off enough that I wouldn't burn the roof of my mouth. To entertain myself while the pizza cooled, I looked around the restaurant. It was neat, and very clean. There were TV's in three corners, tuned to different channels.The volumes were low, so it wasn't noisy or distracting. The wall decor made it clear that this Pizza Shoppe is very supportive of the nearby high school. Hubby checked out the men's room, and reported that it was nice and clean, and that there is a good-sized room in the back that would be great for a meeting or a private party (but we didn't ask about their policies on such). Finally, my pizza was cool enough to dig into ... It was definitely worth the wait!! I loved the cracker-y crust, and the sauce was not too sweet. The pepperoni was perfectly spiced, and there was plenty of cheese. YUM! The mini was just the right size for my appetite, too. Although, I'd have been happy to have some slices left over to take home for later! My only quibbles that kept me from giving five stars to this Pizza Shoppe: 1. I'm a Pepsi-holic, and they serve Coke. 2. The glass was more than 3/4 full of fine ice, and 3. The Coke was fairly flat and seemed watery. BUT ... the menu promised endless refills ... but I didn't enjoy my drink enough to try them out on that. All in all, I'd say this Pizza Shoppe is a little gem worth searching for. It's easy to miss! It's at the south end of a tiny strip of shops on the east side of 7 Highway, north of I-70. It is just south of the Country Club driveway. I just left this place after being more disrespected than I have ever been in public. For a place who wants to serve pizza and be paid for it in a family city, I cannot believe how RUDE the owner was to me and my daughters. I admit, there is poop in this story, so stop reading if that makes you upset. My three-year-old daughter went in her diaper and it exploded but very little got on her pants until I went to change her in the bathroom. Not only does the bathroom not have a proper changing table, but as I am trying to clean up my daughter, she gets far messier and is in need of water from the sink in order to clean up the situation. I move her over there, as we were the only people in the restaurant, I really was trying to not be gross and make a big mess. If you are a parent of children in diapers, I imagine you know that a blow-out in public is a nightmare and to be treated rudely during it is even worse. While we are at the sink, the owner walks in, I apologize for the scene she came in on and continue cleaning. At this point, the owner doesn't speak with me but I can see the disgust on her face and I am clearly embarrassed and trying to make it right. She leaves without speaking and returns shortly with gloves and bleach in her hand. I apologize AGAIN and tell her I'll get out of the way. She cuts me off and immediately starts using a hateful tone with me and tells me I'm being disgusting. I asked if she'd like me to leave with my naked daughter or if she'd mind if I finished cleaning. Then she tells me that it smells HORRIBLE in her bathroom and I said, okay, I'm leaving and not eating here. She then leaves, I clean up the entire bathroom and my child, and make my way out the door. Then, I get back to my table, see that our food arrived, so I make my way to the bar where she is the only worker available to speak with. I asked her to identify herself, she tells me that I need to just leave. I told her I'd like to pay for the meal and leave and she REFUSED to let me and told me to just get out of her restaurant. I told her that the way she treated me in the restroom was uncalled for and hateful. She then says, "All I said to you was, 'now I have to clean this up.'" To which I replied, that is an absolute lie and you are just trying to save face with your friends here (there were two people in the bar). She continues to tell me to leave, and I do. I do not know what this woman would have preferred me to do with my daughter, but I do know that I would NEVER have left the bathroom a mess and I would have NEVER left without explaining that it'd be best if the bathroom got sanitized IF someone had not walked in and known what happened in there. This was the first time I have ever been in Pizza Shoppe, even though I had heard about the horrible ownership. Well, she lived up to her reputation in Blue Springs. read more
