In Midland, downtown is the only spot that has really authentic restaurants - or something a bit different to offer. Pizza Sam's has been here forever and it is amazing. They serve great pizza, sandwiches, and ice cream! They also now serve beer and wine and have a great patio in the summer. Took the kids here as they love seeing the pizza made through the window. The pizza maker people called Walker made it fun for the kids. He threw them dough and tossed the pizza around like a mini show. Our pizza tasted and looked good. There are low seats and booths. There's a spare room that looks like you can rent it too for private parties. Ice cream hand dipped available. You can customize any pizza. They have sub sandwiches too. Great place to stop for lunch. Tried the MBS Sandwich, which is a new favorite of mine. It was even a little messy, so the friendly employee made sure to include extra napkins, which I was extremely grateful for. The fries are also pretty great and have been very fresh every time I've stopped in here. Officially has the worst Taco salad ever !!! The "beef" on this taco salad can best be described as kibble! It was ground so fine it was hard to even find in the salad and had no taste! The Meat Madness pizza was awesome! The ham is cut into matchsticks topping the pie! The sauce might be considered sweet to some, but was perfect for all that meat! We stopped here yesterday as part of the hot cocoa crawl, the floors were very dirty along with the restroom. I ordered a coney dog with their supposedly famous sauce. I had a real bad experience at Sam's tonight. I made an internet order around 6:55pm (1 hour wait time) and called the store at 8:30pm because the pizza hadn't arrived. Spoke to the 'Manager'. He said that they did not see the internet order and they would put it in the oven. I was very understanding and told him I understood because I have worked there before but asked for some type of discount as the pizza would get to me at least two hours after I ordered it ASAP. He was very rude to me, told me he couldn't do that, he'd pass it on to his boss, and very clearly hung up on me... I'll be checking my credit card statement to make sure it is refunded and won't be ordering from them again. read more

The food is exactly what it should be. Not too pricey but also not too great. My problem is that everyone gets styrofoam cups and plates, they also use plastic ware. My wife and and dined at Pizza Sams this evening. We have had good pizza there in the past but not tonight. The pizza delivered to our table under cooked and kind of doughy. I took it up to the counter and asked the counter person if they would cook our pizza several more minutes as it was somewhat under cooked. She agreed and 5 minutes later the pizza was delivered to our table. It was cooked better. The pizza was a C+ at best. No mention was made concerning our pizza problem as I paid my bill although they seemed as bit uncomfortable. Not the best service I have experienced and no acknowledgement of our problem. Went there today and placed a to-go slice with fries. I can back about 15 minutes later to pick up my food. The lady at the front just looked at me so I assumed my food wasn't ready. Another lady was calling out an order and asked if it was mine. I said it wasn't and said what my order number was. 5 minutes later, the lady that asked if the order was mine finally looked in the warmer and saw my food was there. Needless to say, the unfriendly cashier who took my order made me wait another 15 minutes AFTER I walked in gave me a blank look as I walked out in disgust. Was in town for the day with my daughter and we decided to get some pizza. I've always seen pizza Sam's drivers around and thought we would try it to see how it was. I had never been to the location before this. Thinking it was a regular old pizza place I placed a carry out order only to arrive and notice they offered inside and outside dining. We were going to walk to a nearby park to eat but decided we would eat there since it was easier. We were greeted and I explained that I placed a carry out order but we wanted to eat there. The server seemed unsure what to say and told us they don't allow that but because we didn't know that we could today. She then instructed for us to proceed to the register and pay. Once there we had a heavy set blonde cash us out and when I mentioned we were eating there she started to be very rude and said we can't do that because their lobby fills up for other customers. I told her that the previous employee told me we could because we didn't know and then a guy working interjected and said it wasn't a big deal and that we could and then the blonde who cashed me out walked away with an attitude telling the everyone else I shouldn't be able to. I then said we will just eat outside(no customers were out there at all) to accommodate them and free up the lobby as we just wanted to eat quick. I was then told they were checking with a manager and an employee came out(not the manager) and told me I can't not eat there. At this point I found this completely ridiculous and gave them the pizza back and requested a refund. The pizza is the same price as if I dined there yet because I called it in I was being told I can not eat the food they sold me at their restaurant. The manager finally came out and was very nice. He said he would refund me and explained the confusion, however this didn't make the situation better. The employees could be more courteous and also more professional. I didn't eat their pizza and never will. This was a very unfortunate way to treat a customer. We came back to town and got pizza from our local eatery that was cheaper, much nicer and delicious as always. read more

Pizza SAMs has a typical pizza shop atmosphere. I've tried their salad, calzones, pizza, and bread sticks. The only thing I would recommend is their pizza. Everything else was blah tasting. I have not tried the ice cream but it looks pretty decent. Also, they use disposable cutlery and plates. Super bad for the environment and not fun to use to cut pizza. It's always pretty clean. Service is usually pretty good too. I would recommend the pizza to anyone, and rate it 8/10, but I wouldn't recommend anything else. read more
