Great Pizza, Great Place, Great People!!
    Bill M.

Great Pizza, Great Place, Great People and the Wings are pretty damn good too!! So far I've tried their Grandma Pizza, Chicken Parmesan Pizza, and their version of Buffalo Wings and found everything to be on point and totally delicious in every way.    At first I thought it'd be alot smaller inside than it is but they have it split into two sections, on the right is the pickup ordering counter with a few small tables and on the left side is a larger dinning room area with the kitchen in back, it's a pretty cool spot for lunch or dinner.     They also do a decent amount of delivery business so keep that in mind if you ever find yourself stuck to the couch or under house arrest for some shenanigans that you did or didn't do. .. I've already said way too much. Lol!! Come And Get Your Munch On, or Get It Delivered!!

    Chicken Arugula Pizza

I would like to give this place 5 stars because the chicken arugula pizza is phenomenal. I would recommend trying it. The downside is that I have ordered it several times in the past few months and each time the price has gone up. Paying $28.00 for one pizza is hard to justify even if it is delicious. The cheese cake and zeppole are also very tasty, In fact I have enjoyed everything I've ever ordered, from Pasta through on to dessert!

    Swimming Spaghetti

Today, I ordered spaghetti with just a little butter and parmesan cheese - no bread, no salad. After waiting the 15 minutes I was told before walking over (work next door), I sat for another 5 minutes only to be told "oh your order is here - spaghetti and sauce" to which I said spaghetti and a little butter. I opened it up slightly before leaving and I was happy to see no red sauce. Taking it back to work and opening it up, the spaghetti is swimming in butter - what happened to "just a little butter." I need to mention the reason I ordered only basically plain spaghetti is my folks sent me home last night with eggplant parm and I didn't have time in the morning to make the spaghetti and can't eat it by itself. On top of having to call twice because my first call was forgotten about after being put on hold, having a difficult time ordering basically plain spaghetti and waiting for my order that was already done, my order was $17.00 - for what - basically plain spaghetti (no salad, no side bread) and a soda. NEVER again, I don't care how much people rave about this place or the fact that it's convenient.

This pizza sucks. I ordered it "well done", the irony!

I have to say, I was sad that this was only the first time I'd been here because the food and the service were outstanding. To be fair, I'm only going to review my meal and the shared appetizers because after a few glasses of wine (it's BYOB) and a couple of sips of Sambuca that I snuck in...I don't remember what everyone else had. Our very fun and friendly server, Daniella (the owner's daughter), started us off with a few baskets of homemade rolls that were absolutely delicious. Since there were 14 of us we got a bunch of appetizers to share and pass around the table. We had 2 orders of Calamari and two of the Suppa's Thinny pizzas and one each of the Stuffed mushrooms, Mussels with white sauce, and Rice balls. I don't think there was a crumb left. The stuffed mushrooms might have been the best I've had and I practically licked the sauce off the plate - some kind of cream sauce made with a touch of love. The pizza was delicious, but I do with it had been left in for about 90 more seconds as I was looking for it to be a little crispier. Otherwise the appetizers were all excellent. For my entree I ordered the Vodka chicken parm over penne. Three big chicken breasts over a good sized portion of penne and slathered in a very creamy vodka sauce. I'm a big fan of vodka sauce and this one was richer than I've had before...it was really tasty. And, because of the appetizers, I actually got two smaller portioned lunches out of this. (To be fair, I would have preferred linguini, but the chicken and sauce were the heroes of the meal so the pasta wasn't THAT important.) I finish up the meal with an espresso and a cannoli (they had run out of tiramisu). I should've gotten a double espresso because the cannoli was huge and I ran out of espresso halfway through the dessert. The cannoli shell was fresh and crispy (so it wasn't pre-filled) and less sweet than most Italian places here in the US. Reminded me of the cannoli in Rome. Not only will I be back, but I've already sent people here who have loved it. Sorry for the lack of photos...

In a world where corporate-owned and franchised seafood restaurants are multiplying like.. guppies,…read moreit's getting harder to find a good, independently-owned seafood restaurant in the area. Denville Seafood / Codmother's Cafe on Broadway in downtown Denville stands out for all the right reasons -- with incredibly fresh and tasty locally-sourced fish, a welcoming midscale atmosphere, and staff that actually cares about the customers and food they're serving. Denville Seafood / Codmother's Cafe operates as a seafood market and restaurant. The market offers a variety of fresh seafood all of which is locally-sourced from the New Fulton Fish Market in NYC as well as seafood-based soups and salads prepared on-site to enjoy elsewhere. The other side of the shop offers a sit-down restaurant where the chef can prepare anything sold in the market in a variety of ways for diners to enjoy in the indoor or outdoor dining areas or to go. The menu is extensive and any of the fresh fish -- from bass to tuna -- or shellfish sold in the market are available in the restaurant in a wide variety of preparation styles -- baked, broiled, and fried with white wine-butter sauce, rosemary, lemon-caper, scampi, or teriyaki sauces. Dinner platters (which range from $28 to $45 as of December 2025) include coleslaw, steamed vegetables, and your choice of fries, rice, potatoes, pasta, or extra steamed vegetables. Your imagination is the only thing limiting the number of iterations available. For diners who don't enjoy seafood, Codmother's Cafe offers linguine with or without broccoli, chicken tenders, and the New Jersey-staple Chicken Parmigiana. The atmosphere in the dining room hits that perfect "midscale" sweet spot where it feels special enough for a nice night out, but still relaxed and welcoming for a casual meal with friends and family. The high-energy servers are clearly on top of their game and make the whole experience fun. We'll definitely be back. PRO TIP #1: Be flexible with your order. With all of the seafood sourced daily based on what's available at the New Fulton Fish Market and sold in both the market and restaurant, there's a real risk they might run out of something on the menu so make sure you have a back-up in case your initial craving is 86-ed for the day when you order. PRO TIP #2: Free street parking is available on Broadway and 1st Avenue as well as in the Denville municipal parking lots located on 1st Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue.
