Pizza Rock has a great Happy Hour! There's a lot of specials on the menu and it makes it easy to try several items. I was particularly craving their pizza because I love their thin crust - it has crisp and a lightness in the dough. We started with a simple House Salad which is some basic spring greens, a few cherry tomatoes, few slivers of onions and topped with some cheese. It comes with a nice crunch "crostini bread". Overall, it's a simple salad but with quality ingredients. The pizzas are always really good here if you like a good thin crust. The classic cheese pizza has good flavor and is really good. I recently went to the Pizza Rock next to Green Valley Casino for my birthday and had a great experience. It was a busy Saturday night and there was a huge party of 20+ ahead of me, but my party of 8 was able to be seated within ~25 minutes. We could either pass the time playing at the casino or walking around Green Valley, since they send text updates when your table is ready. The atmosphere was very dim and lively with MLB games playing on the big screens and the service from every member was great. In terms of the food itself, the calamari fritti tasted very fresh and had the right amount of crispiness without being overly oily. They paired very well with the Aioli, which had a slight bit of heat to it. I also ordered the mortadella pizza, since the ingredients were similar to a sandwich I liked at All'Antico Vinaio on the west side of Las Vegas. The crust has sesame seeds and tasted like popcorn, which was definitely unique, but not bad. The other ingredients tasted fresh and not too heavy, but I personally prefer them in a sandwich form instead of a pizza. In fact, the next time I visit this place again, I'd like to try The Newyorker, since almost every other table had it, but this is definitely the best pizza place I've been to in Las Vegas and I'm excited to try other styles during future visits. read more

love it here. Never been here all this time and I live in the area and I will not sleep on it again. The moment I walked up to the front I was greeted and met my party. The ambiance was family feel, or a place you can go for drinks and pizza with friends. The lighting was dim and there is enough seating for large parties but not where you are really close to other parties. The food was amazing. Every appetizer I tried was soo good. I had fried zucchini which was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The sauce given on the size was delicious. The calamari was a large serving with two different sauces given. Wow! I didn't know pizza could be so good! Came here for dinner last night and when we first saw the prices, we thought it seemed a little pricey. However, we ordered the Detroit "Motörhead" and before even taking a bite we knew it was well worth the money. It was so much food we could only eat one piece each and it was so delicious! All the ingredients felt very fresh and the star of the show was the pizza sauce. It tasted like they had just puree'd the tomatoes moments earlier and it was so tangy! We also got the rosemary garlic fries, which were also excellent. They are deep fried in such a way that they make egg rolls come to mind ha. Lastly we ordered the Zeppoles. Which essentially are just some really yummy scones. The service was also great! Our waitress informed us of the happy hour deals even though there was only 5 mins left and helped us save a few bucks The restaurant does suffer from a common problem with casino restaurants, which is that it's open to the gaming floor, so the smell of smoke is prevalent. This Pizza Rock is located inside Green Valley Ranch Resort in Henderson. We first ate at PR years ago at their downtown location. We loved it and were excited when they opened up at GVR. We were starving and wanted to have extra food at home over the holidays, so we deliberately over-ordered. We're suckers for zucchini fries, and were very glad we tried them here. They were very crisp, cooked exactly how we like them. They tasted great! My wife wanted a Meatball Sub sandwich. It was pleasing that she was allowed to get a side Caesar salad instead of the standard french fries. While the amount of melted Mozz and Romano cheese was fine, the sub was not "smothered in marinara" as the menu claimed it would be. The meatballs were okay. This sandwich kept the rating at 4 stars instead of a 5-star level. We love the fact that you can order virtually any style of pizza there is at Pizza Rock: Classic American, Pizza Romano, Detroit, Classic Italian, Thin Tavern Style, Gluten Free, New York, California Style, or even Grand Ma (whatever the heck that is!). We tried the Mob Boss Sicilian Style with green peppers only on half. The pizza was loaded with about every meat and vegetable you can think of! I liked the cherry tomatoes on top. The sauce was excellent. We could only eat a couple of pieces, but the leftover pieces we took home heated up perfectly in the oven. We usually sit at the bar to watch sports on one of their multitude of TV's. The service is fine, and there are a gazillion beers on tap to choose from. We had a group of 10 with 2 babies. The music was super loud so I asked if they could turn it down. The waiter was super good about it and asked the manager that said he couldn't turn it down. I guess he has never operated anything with a volume dial. So I asked if he could just turn it off and he was super rude and said NO. Such poor customer service by the manager I said look if you won't do anything then we will leave. He said he couldn't do anything. So we had to leave. I cannot believe with the current state of the economy he chose to turn anyway 10 customers instead of just turning the music down for like 30 minutes while we ate. The restaurant was only about 10% full. Unbelievable customer service. I would suggest the owner get a new manager that wants to make them money, not lose money. read more

Pizza Rock is great. My husband and I have been here a handful of times and have always come with friends. The food is fresh and sausage is to die for. Haven't had a bad thing on the menu yet. I will say sometimes the service is lacking. Maybe the servers have too many tables to manage? The downtown location is the ONLY Pizza Rock worth going to... If I'm going to spend $30 on 1 pizza, it better be delicious, sadly this place needs help. Pizza Rock inside of GVR is underwhelming at best. It was very loud and very classless. Tables are fairly close together and their chairs are very unstable. The menu itself is very confusing. They have 5-6 different sections of pizza to choose from, but some of the options have no real differences in flavor or texture. Also--don't expect to order a Detroit pizza unless you have an hour to spare. We got the Margherita, buffalo chicken, pepperoni pizzas along with the Salumi and Formaggio Board and the calamari. The calamari and the buffalo chicken pizza were a 7/10. Everything else lacked in flavor. The crust of the Margherita and pepperoni pizzas seemed under done and lacked salt. The bottom of the pies were very weak, making them difficult to carry the toppings. Their sad excuse for a charcuterie board was thoroughly disappointing. It was served with large, thick meat slices and breadstick crusts that had zero flavor. You're better off ordering a lunchable. This place is trying to do too much. The service was ok, just ok. Drinks were overpriced and very bland. Overall 5/10. I'd rather go to Grimaldi's. read more

Always great food here and there's always good drinks here, but for some reason, the service is always suspect here. It doesn't seem to matter if we sit at the bar or at a table on one side of the restaurant or the other every time we've come here there is always been a big lag in service. After three times of this, I have nothing else to believe than it has to do with the mindset of the management and how they train their staff. The one thing that has been consistent every time either when we have received our food to go or finished a meal at the restaurant and waiting for a check it's as if we don't exist for a really long time and generally every time after 20 minutes or more, I have to flag down somebody to give me my check. I know what you're thinking. Why not just walk out at that point but that's not our style. Always keeping it classy. So our latest rendition of suspect service we sat at the bar ordered pizza to go and ordered a couple drinks while we were waiting. I even made a comment to the bartender when he asked me what size beer I said give me a 16 instead of a 20 ounce so that way I could have two before my pizza arrived. That means more money for the restaurant. Well for one he never came back around to take a second drink order for me and when the pizza finally got dropped off and after sitting around for quite a long time and him having his back to us and all I could call, it is ass grabbing with one of the female Bartenders behind the bar at the register. Finally, I had to go flag him down because my pizza had been sitting and I wanted to go home and have a hot pizza. It's a good thing. I keep a pizza bag in my car. I mean, how hard is it? Fill up a beer and give somebody a bill in a timely manner on a to go order on a day where there's not even that many customers. As I said in the beginning, this isn't the first or second, but the third time this has happened how many times am I supposed to come back and get suspect service. Does the owner think he's so good because of his pizza awards that his staff can be flipped to customers. Also, I noticed while we sat there waiting for a pizza. There were several people maybe manager, maybe staff I don't know that were behind the bar off to the side just kind of chatting around while I saw other customers waiting for help so it wasn't just me and this wasn't just a one time thing. Once again, the pizza is really good here and you should give it a try but hopefully you don't get the service that I've experienced all three times here. Now there is enough pizza, places and enough good pizza places around that I don't need to come back here and I don't need to worry about it, but you make your own decisions. First time visiting Pizza Rock - heard they have a couple of locations but this one was most convenient to sit down in and enjoy. Our server was super sweet and seemed happy to help, which is always nice to see. Root beer on draft was pretty good but I asked for a cup of ice just because I prefer my sodas to be in the colder side. Classic meatballs came in 3 or 6, we got 3 and it was a good size to share among the 4 of us. Delicious marinara sauce. Motorhead was good for those who like deep dish style - I'm normally not a fan but I did appreciate that it was a perfect balance of soft and crispy texture in the right places. Last, but not least, the SHROOMING pizza was to die for!! Even people in our party who aren't normally into having vegetables and leaves on their pizza said it was super delicious. Had a wonderful truffle oil on it and they were happy to substitute the goat cheese out with ricotta instead for me, worth the extra $2.
