Living in Dallas, I didn't realize how much I missed Pizza Ranch. I know, I know. You are wondering why I am missing a buffet that is mainly a Midwest institution. Well, this is the spot my family and I have frequented for years and I always bank on greasy food and pretty epic nostalgia. This specific location has been around for a few years and replaced the Godfather's that used to be housed in its place. With the buffet loaded with pizza, cheese bread, chicken, mashed potatoes, and a salad bar, you are bound to find something you love -- or at least like. The cactus bread is always a stand out. The girl who greeted me at the counter was very friendly. Sadly, she seemed to be the only person on duty, as she was having to triple-down as the busser as well as rotating the pizzas. I don't think that's a fair expectation for any employee. Tables were messy, as one can expect with one person doing three jobs. I did see at least one, and maybe two employees chatting by the ice cream machine as she was doing multiple tasks. Didn't seem like they were prepared for the late lunch rush that came in around 1:30 PM. Fountain drinks were missing labels and it was an unwelcome surprise to get orange soda from something that once had a Hi-C label on it. Iced tea is the fake kind, certainly didn't have the brewed taste to it. I was also on the can within a hour of getting home. Take that for what its worth. Props to the restaurant for doing the "request a pizza" feature at a late time--it seems to be a money loser to make whole pizzas when the buffet will get cleared 30 minutes later. read more

Pizza Ranch is a solid pizza chain. The food is consistent and tasty. The buffet has a salad bar, pizza bar, and hot foods. This location also had an ice cream machine... But no toppings. They always ask if you request anything particular on the buffet and then promptly make it. The taco pizza and the dessert pizzas (cactus bread) are delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive. There is plenty of seating at this location for small or large groups. read more

We ordered 2 pizzas to the office while working in Marshalltown. We had the buffalo chicken and Tuscan veggie (or something like that). I liked the Tuscan veggie much better than the buffchick. On the whole I thought these pizzas could use more sauce. The buffalo chicken was pretty dry and not very buffalo-y. The crust is really puffy- not my preference. Overall, this was edible. read more

Pizza Ranch should re-brand themselves as Chicken Ranch, because the pizza is not good in my opinion (as well as most people I know), but their chicken is to-die for. It would be nice if they had a bench of some kind for people waiting for to-go orders. We had an order for pick-up and it took the standard amount of time, but I have a feeling that our order was sitting for a while because the chicken and potatoes seems sort of...mushed on the bottom...by the time we got home (a 10 minute drive). Colonic in a box. That is the only way I can describe Pizza Ranch Pizza. Anytime I have eaten it, within hours I'm petrified to stray too far from a toilet. I'm not the only one to experience this phenomenon. Many of my friends, family, and acquaintances have stated there's no better way to get the gut a churnin' than diving into a piping hot Pizza Ranch pie. My daughter, husband and had lunch at Pizza Ranch yesterday. As always the food was fresh and tasty, the serving areas clean and we'll stocked. The service was what really stood out. I had lost my rewards card and wanted to take advantage of a promotional offer, Stephanie went out of her way to resolve my problem. My husband who was out for the first time since suffering a serious stroke that left him blind and unsteady on his feet had to use the restroom. Since we didn't have a male with us Bill the other manager took him to the restroom, helped him wash up and returned him to our table. Both managers really showed what customer service is all about. It was clean. The prices were pretty high. The chicken we ordered was super greasy and not fresh.

A few days ago we went there and there was not much choice on the buffet for pizza. The chicken was way over cooked and very dark. We decided to give it a second chance today and tried to have it delivered. I called. Did a catering order from here. It was a 500 Dollar order and you would think that they would deliver on time. They were 20 minutes late, all of our Employee's were just sitting there waiting. When we called back to tell them how upset we were all the Manager did was make up every excuse and why it wasn't on time. If I could give zero stars, I would. Me and my fiancé went in on Friday night. As we enter the restaurant we can not believe our eyes. There were dirty tables everywhere. I went to the restroom before even paying, and there is a sign saying bathroom closed. I peek in and see a young lady sweeping the floor and ask if I can just wash my hands. She agrees and I allow her time to finish. A young man (who ends up ringing us up) walks around the corner and says: "Sorry, the bathroom is closed, someone threw up". Great way to lose your appetite, huh? Well we get over that and order 2 buffets. We each get a salad plate and a plate of hot food. I say hot food referencing everything not on the salad bar, not the temperature of our meals. The choices were slim. There were a few pieces of chicken, a scoop or two of mashed potatoes, no fries just crumbs, as well as about half of a pan of corn that had been sitting so long there was a crust on top that i had to mix up before getting any. We sit down and the tables are still dirty. Im not talking about just a table or two, there are more dirty tables than clean tables. As we begin to eat, I immediately find a hair in my salad dressing. I get it, buffet, many people, it's bound to happen. I push the salad to the side. My fiancé had a different dressing and decides to eat hers. A few bites in and she pushes it to the side saying it tastes weird. At this point we are over it. We begin to eat our mexican style and steak and onion pizza as these were about our only options to choose from. (We watched pizza after pizza come out to a large family and my fiancé asked for a pepperoni pizza, the man she asked says "It's coming, we always have that on the bar" ...Really? We just watched you bring 2 to a table and wont bring us one? Cool... But back to us starting to eat our pizza... First bite of my first pizza, cold. Put it on the salad plate. First bite of the second slice, cold. Put it on the salad plate as well. At this point we get up and leave. If the pizza is cold, I would hate to see what my experience with the grease soaked chicken and crusty corn would have been like. As we're walking out, I see what appears to be a manager or supervisor standing in the corner on Facebook on his cell phone. Why one would be standing next to the buffet line on Facebook beats me. It's not like there are any tables that needed to be cleaned or anything... About the time we go to walk out, 2 older couples walk in the door. I say it loud enough to them that the manager/supervisor can hear as well: "I hope your food is warm, ours was so cold we took two bites and are leaving". Big whoop I know, but I made my point. We left and went to Applebees and had a great meal, in a clean atmosphere with great service. I would definitely think twice about going here, we will never be back. read more

Pizza is very good and the staff is very friendly. They will make any kind of pizza you want upon request. Nice and clean.
