The service was excellent! Super friendly hostess that checked us out and the staff were all great. The food was constantly brought out so things were hot and fresh. Nothing here was overly special, everything I tried was good but nothing blew us away. Very average food but for a buffet we were quite happy. My other big shout out was for their cleanliness. A buffet like that is always full of kids and families running around, especially on a busy Friday night when we went. With all that going on, there were always two or three employees walking the dining area and cleaning tables, clearing plates, and keeping it nice. This made for a far cleaner buffet than most of a comparable price point. Overall very good experience here. read more

You get bang for your buck definitely. The pizza here was good not great but was made better by how fresh it was. They regularly kept bringing new pizzas out so that was a plus. The recommendation from my hotel of their fried chicken was on point though. Went and devoured the drums and wings and was surprised by how crispy and juicy they were. Seasoned well too not overly salty and they weren't overly breaded. Just perfect. Sides were ok, the cherry pizza for desert literally topped off the night. $16 with bev included? We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and value of Pizza Ranch. It is inexpensive with a pizza buffet and small salad bar which was very fresh. They also have fried chicken, pasta, and a dessert pizza bar. Everything was replenished regularly. It has a separate room for kids games so don't be afraid of the noise. We do wish the seats had been padded but that probably kept me from gaining more weight! read more

Coming into Butte on a Sunday evening didn't leave us with many choices for a quick dinner. Glad we decided on Pizza Ranch. The restaurant is clean, and the service was friendly. We both enjoyed the salad bar, and the freshly fried chicken was bomb. We did try the pizza, which was OK, but didn't really come for that. They did have other items that all looked good. As with any buffet, it is best to come in when they are busy, and you can expect to have a rapid turnover of food being prepared. We may stop again on our way back home! read more

Stopped in to try the lunchtime buffet. I just planned to eat salad, but the array of pizza and chicken derailed that idea. Not bad at all, service was friendly, and basic salad was good. Typical senior crowd, (discount you know), filling up on cheap unhealthy food :) , but if you hit 70 eating like this, more power to you. According to their website, the servers were supposed to bring you food from the buffet, but this didn't happen on my visit. Customers aren't wearing gloves or masks at the buffet. Tables are not spaced out at all. Most disturbing of all is that half of the workers were not wearing masks. When I asked about it, the girl at the register apologized and put hers on, but took it off again a few minutes later. The workers that I glimpsed in the back and the manager refused to put on their masks even after I brought it up. It was funny because the customers were all complying, but the workers were the ones who won't follow the rules. If they won't even follow this basic law from the health department, it makes you wonder what else is going on in that restaurant.... If you're being diligent about social distancing, this is not a safe place to visit. read more

This place should be called the Chicken Ranch because the fried chicken, the mashed potatoes and gravy are the only good thing they actually make. We have enjoyed various Pizza Ranches since we stumbled in to one on a road trip elsewhere. This one is not an exception. The staff is friendly and helpful, food is great, drinks and dessert included for one low price. The ability to custom order a pizza for the buffet is an awesome idea - though I never end up bothering because all their pizza creations are usually great. In addition to pizza there is other general selections such as fried chicken (quite good), mashed potatoes, gravy and a few others. Dessert here involves dessert pizzas, usually 3 varieties - when we were there, there was an apple crumble, some type of cinnamon chocolate and a berry. Soft serve ice-cream was just another step to the right. Would recommend to a friend who liked pizza (are there people who don't?) give it a shot. read more

Both chicken and pizza pretty good for enviroment. A new place with issues which needs to be worked out. Good food. Hot, small batches. Friendly service. My dad and I met my grandparents here on their way through town, and we spent a few hours chatting. I'm so happy we could! The ice tea was flowing, there was fresh hot coffee, and we even had a chance to eat dessert. The soft serve was better than I thought it would be. Similar to my childhood memories of McDonald's ice cream. :) Cherry pie was good too! The waitress told me about their build-your-own pizza for the buffet. This is a great idea. I ordered a veggie pizza on thin crust and added Canadian bacon. It was tasty! You order, they give you a buzzer, and bring the pizza to your table when it's ready. You take what you want, and they put the rest on the buffet. Right on! Oh, the BLT pizza was good. I like taco pizza, and thought that was what I grabbed, but it was BLT. I ate 2 slices. My buddy and I rolled into town late one evening with him Jonesing for a sale bar. Pizza Ranch was the only place that promised to be open late enough for us to eat before crashing in our hotel. I was a bit put off by the low reviews, but we tried it anyway. And I'm glad we did. The pizza was hot and fresh. The salad was cold and crisp. If you order 3 sauce cups (and pay for) in addition to the one that comes with the Ranchsticks that makes 4 doesn't it? The pizza is very good. The crust is crunchy, chewy and has a great flavor. The pizza buffet has several great selections and the "Buffet Your Way" feature let's you try any pizza you want. Also, they have the best fried chicken in town. The skin is crisp and flavourful with very little grease, and the meat is perfectly juicy. It's worth the visit for the chicken alone. I just got into town and went to the Pizza Ranch on Friday around 7 pm. I paid for 2 buffets and never was told the buffets were low on food. There was really nothing on the salad bar to even scrape up. There was 1 piece of chicken and some mash potatoes and the pizza bar had a couple of 1/2 pizzas that looked like they were there since morning. The dessert buffet was completely empty. The majority of the tables were dirty and not an employee to be found. When I finally did find someone, I was told they were busy and on the phone but when they have time, they will restock the buffets. If they were having problems that night, they should have closed for the evening instead of charging people to eat the non-existent buffets. I wasn't the only one complaining. The staff as well as management needs to be either retrained or replaced. With the little bit I did get to eat, I ended up sick the entire night. I would have gotten better serves from a gas station then I did here. read more

ZERO STARS - did order online as usual, with explicit instructions to come to upstairs apt for delivery. After an hour and a half (after the hour estimated delivery time), I called & spoke to Ian who said the delivery person knocked on the door (downstairs) but got no answer. He said the delivery person called (call came to my cell from unknown GEORGIA number twice - I'm in MONTANA - and didn't leave a voicemail) so my food was sitting at the restaurant. The Restaurant never called me. I asked Ian to have fresh food be made & delivered, with again, explicit directions to upstairs apt. Ian said it would be delivered in 35 min. I waited another hour before calling them again. The manager Alan said he wasn't going to 'keep sending my delivery people out' and that they were waiting for clarification on what was going on. This is 3 hours after our order online. I was polite again on my second call to the restaurant & he condescended me until my boyfriend took the phone. Alan was rude to him & hung up on him repeatedly. Our cc was charged, no food after waiting 3 hours for pizza & then absolute rudeness. I called coroporate & filed my complaint. We were frequent fliers but never again. Argh!!! read more
