Big Sur Pizza

Quick and easy and all nostalgia being the original location. Love the shirt selections here - always different from the rest. Often sold out or low in stock - luckily for us, sizes we wanted were available and each gets their own slice. Big sur, you're still my all time fave.

Awesome pizza. My family came to visit Capitola and take pictures of the beautiful beach and colorful houses nearby. Pizza My Heart caught our eyes as we were walking around. We ordered the following: Big Sur - it has been the two time world champion best pizza! So we had to try. Indeed there's a reason why it is a winner Maui Wowie - if you love Pineapple pizza / Hawaiian pizza, you Must order this. It's the best we've ever had. It was a Hit D'Lex Chicken and Bacon - for meat lovers What stood out to us has been the fact that the crust is thin and they cook the pizza right in the oven for you. If you ordered individual slices they should come out of the oven in 2-3 min. The staff know what they are doing. The pizza is great to eat while walking along the beach. There are no indoor seating, but plenty of benches and the whole beach to sit and eat. Our family stood outside, huddled around in a circle, and took turns taking a bite of each pizza. We loved it. Thank you all for your service and the food you make to feed people. God bless you!

T-shirts for sale plus a free slice of pizza.

There's nothing better than good pizza at the beach. This restaurant is a take-out only place but there are plenty of benches down the street for a quick bite with a view. I ordered a Maui Zowie pizza with Canadian Bacon and pineapple pieces, the thin crust pizza is crispy, so good.

Review #885 Posted on 5.23.25 We came to Capitola Beach on Saturday the 17th when in town for my daughter's flag football playoffs the next day. Stopping at Pizza My Heart is a must when you come to Capitola Beach. This place has been around for decades. I used to come here while in high school in the 90's during spring break & summertime. They've got the best thin pizza. It's closest thing to east coast pizza here in Northern California in my opinion. You can also get a slice with a t-shirt for under $10. You can also just grab a whole pie or slices to go. Love this spot. It's a 100% must when at Capitola beach.

Pretty delicious pizza- got three slices to-go, the smell of all the enticing pizza slices was just too much to pass by or just to order one. Got the big sur, little sur and a pineapple slice. The big sur definitely the favorite- packed with ingredients that just taste great together, audibly 'mmmm-ing' with every bite. Little sur pretty good too, the classic pineapple pizza is also delicious for all those fellow pineapple pizza lovers out there (it does belong on pizza!). Pizza slices are pretty big too so even one slice is pretty filling. There was a little bit of a wait in line- wait to heat the pizza, but very friendly service and pretty seamless: the pizza slices are in the display cabinet at the front so you can pick out the exact slice you want to order. Not bad for a pizza slice shop!

Rock hard pizza - Big Sur slice

Ordered a Little Sur and a Big Sur slice and received a ROCK hard crust. Ate half of the Big Sur and couldn't take it anymore so we headed back to give our feedback. Manager responded with "that's normal and that can happen." He refused to credit us or give us a new slice. So, not only did our pizza crust suck but the customer service was even worse. Fyi, been patronizing this establishment for years!!!

Tasty pizza, my husband love it. He actually got a nice black shirt to go with it I try the pepperoni and the artichoke pizza and they are good.

Beach Bites: Quick and Casual Pizza on Capitola's Coast Soaking up the sun at Capitola Beach can build up an appetite! On a recent sunny day, I found myself drawn in by the long lines at a local pizza place. Who can resist a good slice after a day at the beach, right? Pizza My Heart offers takeout only, with no seating inside. But the wait in line proved manageable, and the reward was a delicious (though not mind-blowing) pizza. I opted for their super veggie and pesto options, which offered a generous size and fresh ingredients at a very reasonable price. While it may not be a white-tablecloth kind of pizza experience, it's a perfect option for a casual beach bite. If you're looking for a quick, affordable pizza fix near Capitola Beach, this spot is definitely worth checking out! Just be prepared to grab your pizza to go and enjoy it by the ocean breeze. Pro Tip: Since I devoured my pizza a little too quickly to snap a picture, I recommend grabbing a napkin or beach towel to hold your slice while you enjoy the view!

Damn good pizza! I finally got the chance to try this place out, very small line. There is usually a line out the door. I got the Big Sur. Super fresh and the perfect amount of crisp. The sauce was just right. I wish I had gotten 2 slices. Service is just ok. Similar to what you would get at fast food with a bunch of college kids working.

This place always hits the spot! Nostalgic eating every time I visit Capitola. Too bad they don't offer the vegan pizza, it's popping up on the advertisement board but this location doesn't carry it. I ordered pepperoni and my son and GF shared a cheese slice since they didn't have the veggie option. I had to convince them to eat it after the person packing my pizza placed both slices on top of each other, told them only the crust touched not the meat lol, not sure why they would place a vegetarian order with a meat order together? But oh well, still slaps lol.

They have a lunch special where you can add a salad for just $3 more, and it's so worth it. The cucumbers and tomatoes were incredibly fresh and tasted amazing. To top it off, I had the tiramisu for dessert and it did not disappoint--perfectly balanced and so satisfying. The atmosphere really makes you feel like you've stepped into a true Italian restaurant. When I walked in, I could hear people speaking Italian, which made the whole experience feel even more authentic. The staff were also wonderful--my server was kind, attentive, and gave great recommendations. Overall, everything about this place was amazing. We got a kids cheese, the cauliflower, a charcuterie pizza, the bolognese, and a chocolate mousse. The cauliflower was so unique with the balsamic, tahini, and pesto. The charcuterie pizza had a sweetness from the caramelized onions yet some saltiness and spice. The bolognese was perfectly chewy and savory with a hint of red pepper. The mousse had a distinctive twist with blood orange sauce. Everything was amazing and they accommodated us well with a 3 year old. Fast service, good liquor selection, too. All around 5*

We had reservations for 7 pm and upon arrival the restaurant was full - this is how you know it must be good. It remained busy throughout the evening too. They had fun spritzes on the menu, I tried the peach basil one and enjoyed it. It wasn't too sweet at all, was tart and crisp. We started with a special they had running for the evening, it was a halibut carpaccio served with avocado mousse and mandarins. The chef let us know he caught the fish on the beach in Capitola, I thought that was pretty rad. It was super fresh, light and delicious. We also shared the prosciutto pizza as a starter as well, so tasty! Literally everything was so good. The crust was easy to chew and eat, flavors were savory and sweet. For entrees my husband ordered the duck ragu and this was my highlight - wish I ordered this for myself as well! Savory goodness and as the dish cooled down the sauce thickened more. I had the mushroom campanelle because once I read truffle hollandaise I was like I must try this. I love mushrooms so anytime I see a dish with them I'm sold. I wish I could've added steak as a protein with it, but overall a yummy pasta dish as well.

Very unsuspecting strip mall next to the cineplex. Upon walking in there's pizza slices behind glass. Not sure if it was the lighting or my hunger but these pie's looked astonishing and each one could have been ordered without some self control. Every slice passed the eye test. Vibes were pretty low inside I won't lie. There was no music, TV playing the NBA playoff game was on mute. But the girl at the counter was friendly and patient with us as we figured out what to order. My fiance went with the Caesar salad. She was expecting a small, discreet one as it was part of their specials along with pizza and drink. But no this salad was enough for two! I went with the sweet heat. Hot honey on a Detroit style slice along with sausage and pepperoni. I was in heaven. Had it not been a day with more eating ahead I would've ordered another. My son got the classic triangle pepperoni slices and said it was the best pizza he's ever eaten. High marks from a pizza connoisseur. Also like to mention the restaurant tables were very tidy and well kept. Bathrooms super clean as well.
