Hidden gem of a pizza place. Got there right as they opened and they could not have been nicer. The place is open seating and has a bunch of video games and pinball to play while you wait for your food. You order at the counter and they bring it out on thin cardboard pizza trays with paper plates. Easy clean up to say the least. The pizza was outstanding! We got the Meatza and traditional pepperoni pizzas and they were delicious! Thin, but not too thin. You could almost fold them if you wanted but they didn't break apart too much if you did. The sauce had a really nice flavor and there wasn't too much cheese with just the right amount of toppings. If you drink alcohol, they have nice selection of beers and liquor drinks; but no taps, all beer is on the bottle. Also for kids, they offer fountain drinks. And of course water if you don't want any of the aforementioned. If you like pizza and are anywhere near the area, check this place out, I promise you it's worth the trip! read more

I understand family events, but if you don't have enough staff to cover a holiday weekend - maybe you should either arrange for temp workers or close?! We had spent the whole day on the road sightseeing north of Lead, through Sturgis and then Deadwood. We were on our way back to our Airbnb, and thought we'd pick up a pizza to go. Not a lot of choices in this part of the country, so when we saw Pizza Lab that's where we went. We walked in, went up to the counter, and started to place an order, then changed our mind and decided to just stay and eat it there. It wasn't too busy for a Saturday night, but the staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. We had eaten about half our pizza before we realized that we didn't get what we had ordered (we had ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza, and only got pepperoni.) we decided to just let it go and finished our meal. It really hit the spot, and I'm sure if we were staying in the area. We would probably visit again. read more

Took our order after business hours [Central City SD] After a long day visiting national monuments and historic sites we were just trying to find a food place that was open on our way back to Sturgis. Our route back on Highway 14A in Wyoming is a very scenic mountain road and mostly off the beaten path. It was a Friday night, almost 9:00p, and many restaurants were either closed or almost closing. It was some 30 mins after crossing the stateline of WY|SD when we saw Pizza Lab and they were open. I walked inside and there was one customer waiting for his order. I asked an employee if we could place an order (the staff were in the middle of cleaning up for the night). They accommodated our take out order. I ordered a Med 12" Build-your-own (bacon, sausage and mushrooms toppings). After about 15-mins we were given our pizza and off we went on our merry way. I gave this business a 5-Star (and I found this out later) that they normally close at 7:30p, we walked in at 8:50p so technically they are done for the evening. They kindly took my order when they didn't have to. The pizza was delicious! We stopped here as it was close to our hotel, and one of the places that wasn't super busy. We were a little hesitant, but willing to give it a whirl. Well, we were pleasantly surprised. This was some of the best pizza I had ever had. It was so good and flavorful. The ice cream was pretty good too. Definitely save room for desert. I believe I had the lemon bar flavor ice cream. Good flat crust Pizza. They did not skimp on the pepperoni which is my favorite. We split a medium pizza which was enough for us. The ambiance is good. They have lots of activities to keep the kids busy in the large room next to bar. We didn't have adult beverages however they had a good selection from what I could see. read more

Pizza Lab has two styles of Pizza, a cracker crust and a "hand tossed", thicker crust. We had both. The cracker style is identical to Boss pizza, very thin and crunchy, with a small amount of chew, but much higher quality cheese than Boss. The thicker style is bready and fluffy from the crust to the center of the pie, a nice variation of the standard midwestern pie. The sauce was okay but not as bright and flavorful as we like it. Also, it appears we were missing some toppings on both of our pizza's. The Lab has a great atmosphere. There is a 4% credit card charge. These are better pies than what are typically offered in the Hills but not our favorite style, which is Neapolitan. Pizzeria Mangiamo in Hill City is the only pizzeria that offers Neapolitan style in the entire area. The 3 stars is for the pizza, 4 stars for the service. read more

Went to Deadwood for a Labor Day holiday with family and decided to order in to our Airbnb amid COVID in 2020. We ordered two pizzas- one was a meat pie and the other was a Thai chicken. Both were so fantastic! Honestly it was some of the best pizza I've had in awhile. We also ordered three containers of ice cream including Rocky Road, butter pecan (I think) and a mint chocolate one. We devoured all three that night with no leftovers to spare! The only concern I had was our wait time. It took well over an hour to receive after ordering. But upon calling them to check in, they apologized profusely and explained they were unexpectedly busy. I will order from them in the future. It's a bit pricey but it's definitely worth the cost and a little bit of a wait. read more

We went here for Deadweird weekend and stayed in Lead. This was the only pizza place actually open and it turned out to be SO GOOD. It was nice they had an arcade area, a giant chalk wall for kids, claw machines, and pool tables! There were a couple of parties there when we arrived but we still got our food without having to wait long. And the ranch was bomb. read more

We made a quick stop here in between geo caching in the canyon and it was a pleasant surprise! They have pizza, wings and ice cream. They even have lunch specials, but we just missed that as lunch ends at 2:00. Me and my son got a speciality pizza with his side being the Hawaiian and my side being the veggie, but I added sausage and white sauce to that as well. I have to say, this pizza was spectacular!! The veggies were very fresh and I'm not sure what they make the dough out of but it was sooooo good! My son loved his as well. And my husband raves about the wings. The workers were very nice and welcoming. Inside was very clean. They also have a children's side with an arcade but we didn't sit on that side. This would also be a great place to stop while out riding on the bike. We'll definitely have to come back and try the ice cream next time! read more

I love Pizza Lab's pizza. My favorite is the Big Ted. My daughter likes the buffalo chicken pizza. The biggest issue I have is they no longer offer their buffets. But they stopped doing it due to Covid. They have upgraded some of their video games. Our favorite is the Pac-Man battle. Lots of fun for families. read more

Slow service and food was almost cold. My wife and I waited over an hour to be served an almost cold pizza and bread sticks.
