Enjoyed an excellent dinner here at Jake's. The Focaccia breast was seasoned perfectly which gave it so much flavor and it was warm and soft accompanied by whipped butter. I enjoyed a perfectly made Espresso Martini and it was strong. I had the Ribeye. Cooked medium and it was so tender. So delicious. No need for any sauce. Gave it a 2 because our bartender was amazing (Mike?) pre meal and out server was great. The ambiance was horrific. Paying those prices to relax with family and celebrate a 32 year anniversary and to be subjected to boozy bingo calling like it's by your ear as well as heavy juke box music in a fine dining place is ridiculous. One party order the chicken which was to be stuffed with spinach and goat cheese when we realized, hey where is the cheese ? Inside the steak was a small hole with what appeared to be a mixture in it. Not as described at all. The red pepper glaze tasted like weak tomato soup. One party came solely for the trio or the lamb. Out of both! Limited menu to say the least. Review it before you go. One party had French onion soup and salad due to the lack of choices We won't go again. read more

Shoutout to Olivia for her superior service. My family's and I enjoyed a quiet Sunday dinner at Jake's. The food was very good. We started with some Focaccia bread before moving straight to entrees (it was late for us to be eating). My daughter loved the filet and potatoes. She gobbled it all up. My wife and I enjoyed the sea bass entree. I had mine over asparagus and my wife did hers over a salad. Both entrees were magnificent. The asparagus was crisp and the fish pan seared to perfection. This restaurant is located inside the Midnight Star casino on the 3rd floor. First time in Deadwood, and I say we chose the right place for dinner. Shrimp and Shiitake Potstickers - this was delicious! Topped with super thin cucumber slices and a passion fruit sweet n sour glaze. A really satisfying appetizer. Strawberry Feta salads - this was lovely! A thick balsamic dressing - the whole salad was delicious- excellent flavor - ate the whole thing! Saffron Ravioli - served Neapolitan style - one big layered ravioli. Delicious cream sauce with peas. A beautiful dish, completely indulgent. I loved it. Trio of Tenderloin (buffalo, elk, venison) - each one was served in a different way. The Buffalo was on top of toasted brioche and served with foie gras; the elk was served with spinach and beets; the venison was served with mushrooms and a cream sauce. All good! The meal was fantastic - the service was okay. It seemed very chaotic all over the restaurant. Our server kept making mistakes at tables all around us. Not sure if they were short staffed, but our reservation was running 20 min late. Overall though, the experience was fine. Would go back. read more

Great service and atmosphere make the food even more delicious. The wood and art deco made me feel right at home sitting by the warm fire. I'm a sucker for a pallet cleanser and a great powder room. Awesome service! Bread was good but maybe less dried herbs would be better. The escargot was okay, not like the past with melted cheese. The shrimp dumplings were just Ok, the dipping sauce was really tasty. The elderberry lemonade and blackberry margarita were so yummy. The house and strawberry salads were great! The palate cleanser lemon sorbet was so good. The bison ribeye special was pretty good, but also somewhat gamey tasting around the edges. The trio of tenderloins was amazing. The ravioli and sea bass were awesome. I would not recommend the chicken carbonara: the chicken was fried... and dry and the pasta lacked seasoning and flavor. The huckleberry cheesecake was a great choice and the crème brûlée were all tasty. Overall a great place to eat, only a couple of items not recommended. read more

Arrived late and was greeted by a very friendly staff. Ordered the Trio of Tenderloins and Filet Oscar. Our dining experience was excellent, made even better by our young server. Khloe was an awesome server and it was refreshing to see a young adult who took her position so serious. She was friendly and knowledgeable and we couldn't have been more pleased. We came to Jake's for the first time in July 2023 for my husband's birthday. The restaurant is beautiful, featuring a tall ceiling with large skylight, impressive columns, tall windows and a couple fireplaces. Next time we'll reserve a spot by the window looking down onto Main Street. There is a list of fun non-alcoholic drinks to choose from as well as a full beverage menu. The meal starts with focaccia and whipped butter. We chose shrimp and shiitake potstickers to start with and they were really good, served with a dipping sauce. After a yummy strawberry feta salad we were given lemon sorbet to cleanse the palate. The lobster and halibut was very good and filling. I don't usually like spring rolls but the ones that come with the halibut were delicious. I ordered a side of mashed potatoes which were good but we definitely didn't need them. The lobster was cooked perfectly. The presentation of the appetizer and halibut was really beautiful. Niki took great care of us. We're excited to come back to this special spot in Deadwood! read more
