If you're looking for a funky place to eat in Richmond, Indiana to come to Claire's Pizza came they have an actual double-decker bus inside. The building service is great and if you need refills, they have a phone on the wall where you can call the kitchen to order to get refills. Food is tasty piping hot and the staff is friendly can be.

I grew up on Pizza King living in Muncie, Indiana where the original Clara's was built on Madison Street. It's been years and thrilled I found another originals to the East Central Indiana pizza chain. Only three originals were named Clara's from the family that established Pizza King in the 1970's. Likely the third was in Anderson, IN. The memories are strong of going out for pizza on Friday nights with family. It's a tradition that lives on for those that remained in the area. The dining rooms still have multicolored lampshades hanging over each table. A signature to the chain. Our server Dereck was a bit of a PK historian which made our weekday lunch visit even more memorable. You still ring the king from their table side phones to place your order. The breadsticks were a must and asked for them to be expedited prior to our 14 inch pepperoni & sausage pie. The breadsticks were every bit as good as I recalled dipped in warm cheddar cheese. The pizza followed about 15 minutes later and was a glorious sight to be hold. The square pieces with crispy bottom and plentiful toppings was exactly true to the brand. I will not be a stranger to this particular location although there are others in the town of Richmond. A full 5 stars because they deserved it from cleanliness, to service to food. But Dereck was really the cherry on the top.

We specifically went to this Pizza King because it was on my Roadside Attractions App for the Doubledecker bus inside. The Ambiance is very neat! It has all sorts of things hanging from the ceiling and you can even eat on the bus! Kids will love it! You call on the phone to make an order at the table- which is also extremely cool to me. It is a Pizza King and tasted great. The guy that waited on us didn't look like he was impressed with life though .

If you're from Indiana, you know Pizza King. An Indiana tradition when it comes to pizza, Pizza King has right about 55 locations around the state of Indiana with a definite focus on rural areas and smaller cities. Pizza King has a relatively slight Central Indiana presence, though not a single location inside Indy's actual city limits. While there's quite a bit of consistency between Pizza King locations, truthfully this is also a chain where you may love one spot yet despite another spot for reasons related to pizza, atmosphere, or customer service. There are great Pizza King locations. There are not-so-great Pizza King locations. I tend to be a fan of the actual pizza. It's not what I'd call gourmet pizza, but it has a look and taste to it that is somewhat nostalgic to me. It's a little bit old school, but definitely still of quality. This location, actually known as Clara's Pizza King, is one of my favorite Pizza King locations. That's partly because it brings back memories of my times in Richmond attending seminary. It's also just plain because the restaurant itself is beautiful, the customer service is top-notch, and the pizza is always delicious. Pizza King offers pizza, pasta, subs, wraps, salads, fountain drinks, beer, and wine. Pizza King is so well known that you can even have pizza shipped. The restaurant is eclectic with stained glass windows and you can even eat your pizza in a vintage London double-decker bus. I will note they say they are wheelchair accessible - they're truly not 100% accessible, though certainly anyone in a wheelchair has a variety of dining options here and I've never had any problems at all. The restaurant was actually built around the bus. There's also some tables upstairs that offer swings for seats. Pizza King also has a jukebox. I tend to keep things simple with pepperoni or sausage pizza and I really love the sausage pizza here. As a matter of note, mostly because I forget for a few minutes every time I come here, while you do have a server there's a phone on your table that you use to call in your order. They then bring it to the table. If you're a fan of Pizza King, a stop at Clara's in Richmond is practically a must. If you're not a Pizza King fan, it may not change your mind here but it's still a cool enough experience that I'd recommend it. I'm headed back to Richmond again this weekend to preach at a Richmond church and I look forward to stopping at Clara's!

This place NEVER disappoints!! It's one of the most unique pizza places I've ever been. From the phones at the table to order to the bus!! My husband and I have been several times. The pizza is so good. Crust is soft and flavorful!! The sauce is very robust! I just love it. A small pizza is more than enough for 2 people! Prices are great and the service is ahhhhmazing! I'll tell you Richmond is a small town that certainly needs love. So if you EVER pass through or live close for a nice drive, stop YOU will not be disappointed! Oh and I highly suggest the pizza cookie!! Yummy!!!!!!! I just love Clara's! And give the servers some love, all of them are great!!

What a fun place! Not changes since the 80s. Food is excellent and service was wonderful. How fun to order from a phone from childhood and then have delicious lunch! A must try if in the area!

Also know as Clara's, this is just like the Pizza King on the east side I reviewed, but with fancier deco. The most distinctive feature is the double decker bus inside. The walls and tables and booths are more upscale than the east side. They do need some care, because I noticed some carvings in the wall. There is some upstairs levels where people can sit. The menu is the same, and you get the same delicious food. I have been here many times, and I am willing to come here again

    That's a bus in here!

Visitng on Tuesday from Tennessee! What's your favorite thing on the menu?

Pizza!! Standard pepperoni, meat feast, Hawaiian... whatever!! But also, be sure to get an order or breadsticks with cheese sauce. The key is to ask for them 3/4 baked (three quarter). Enjoy!!

PROS: -decent sized space between tables and hi-tops…read morethroughout dining area, a large wrap-around bar, a sun-room-esque space of the northeast corner, and an outdoor patio area -extensive menu of variety that includes sandwiches, pizza, and mexican -server was friendly and efficient throughout our meal experience -Texas Twist Pretzel ($15.95) filled out what would typically be used for a 12-14" pizza and had the height of a deep dish. Nice crunchy and salty exterior with a soft bread interior. You may select 3 from their 4 sauce offerings for dipping. We chose the beer cheese, nacho cheese, and brew pub mustard. Mustard was sweet, which was OK, but we were hoping for something leaning more into the spicy zone. The four of us ate maybe 2/3rds of it before our meals arrived. Very different from anywhere else I have seen and would definitely consider again. -Wife and I shared a 12" Veggie Pizza ($19.95 on menu, but noticed we were charged $9.25 on receipt) that looks like a Pizza King pizza, but is much heavier. It was generously loaded with cheese in addition to mushroom, onion, green pepper, and olive. We ate a little more than half of it. Absolutely would consider ordering this again. -Father-in-law ordered the Fish Sandwich (12.95), which is advertised as an 8" filet served on a hoagie bun. It looked all of that size when it came out and he seemed to enjoy it. He took half of it home. CONS: -Acoustics in the main dining area can make it difficult to have a conversation at your table. -Father-in-law asked if we could eat in the sun-room space, due to his hearing aids, but he was told it was reserved for 4 hours later that afternoon, so we were seated in the main area. (Discouraged as we saw a family seated in the sun-room space an hour later after the main area had mostly filled.) -[*I didn't learn about most of this until afterwards, otherwise I probably would have said something.]. Daughter ordered the Chicken Wrap Dinner Special ($10.95), which can be ordered grilled or breaded (she ordered grilled), came with cheddar cheese, shaken in choice of sauce (she ordered buffalo), and is served with fresh chips and cole slaw. The cole slaw is mayo-based instead of vinegar as she was hoping. Her chips, while to their credit were freshly made, were not completely finished as several of them were still raw. She said there was no buffalo flavor to her chicken and it just tasted blah. On top of that, she felt miserable the rest of the day, so we're questioning the handling of the chicken. OVERALL: -Only initial hiccup was where we were seated, so I would have leaned more towards a 4.5 star review. After learning about the multiple issues with my daughter's experience, would probably lean more 3.5 for our family as a whole. Bottom line, would return and order the pretzel, pizza, and other sandwiches, but stay away from the chicken options and perhaps make sure they finish preparing the chips if you get them.

There is no 'meat taste' at all so get in here and give these a try. I had a feeling I would love it and I did. It's a large yet cozy venue with the number 5 featured prominently in assorted art as well as on the tables. The building is historic, lots of wood, brick and brass railings plus a stunning Victorian bar back. We ate at the bar which was very comfortable. Little sliding wooden trays to make it convenient for eating, then just move them out of the way when you're done. They have 10 or so craft beers on tap and a full bar. We had the opportunity to sample a couple brews and we both enjoyed our beer choices and the food. Prices were fair, and tax is included in the menu price. I really want to shout out our bartender/server. Didn't get her name but she had round glasses with eyeglass chain attached and was on the shorter side. She was very customer focused, answering all our first-timer questions, attentive, appropriately conversational, and definitely on the ball as she was handling tables too. Top notch service. About those railings: unless there's a special back entrance, the venue may not be wheelchair accessible. There are two or three steps at the entrance, and if you want the bar instead of booth or table, another three or four. Both have sturdy solid handrails. I do not fault them for this; probably the historic building is exempt, but just wanted to note it for anyone needing that info. All in all a five star experience and I hope to return soon.

I asked for a 9 inch deluxe and a sweet tea. When she asked for $12.56, I was a bit shocked! That was like a trip to LaRosa's near Cincinnati--with the tip. Now, The Americana (their deluxe/supreme) has the usual pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers, but also has hamburger and black olives. That is worth a little extra, I suppose. The taste didn't encourage me. I didn't think "I've got to return to have more soon." I thought "Well, I've been here, and now, I know." It's not as bad as Mercurio's, but it wouldn't make my top 10. The sweet tea neither seemed to be sweet, nor tea. There wasn't much flavor. The best reason to go here is to support your neighbors and keep restaurants in Centerville. Maybe, if they get more business, they'll become better. They were shutting down the buffet when I arrived, so I'm not exactly sure what they normally do. I assume that it has pizza and salad.
