Pizza King is more than a Central Indiana tradition, it's a religion among those that grew up with eating it. The Mooresville location is take-out only. However, they smartly have a dining room for customers to eat in. So there is no table service. This PK does not offer traditional breadsticks known to the chain, nor the same Royal Feast. Also no alcohol is served. However, you can purchase two liters of soda and get cups from them. We ordered a large pepperoni and sausage. The staff was super! The dining room was clean. They were busy too! They offer paper plates if eating in. The pie arrived hot and crispy out of the oven in its trade mark square slices. It smelled and looked amazing! The taste proved to be spot on correct, just like when I grew up. For me a solid 4+. But I am rounding down with a few of the Pizza King traditions missing. This is probably my favorite pizza, King location. The service is always great, it's about as good as Pizza King gets, and in an easy to access location. Recently, we ordered a large sausage and pepperoni pizza with family breadsticks. It was definitely up to the standard. We'd expect, they were very flexible when we had to push back our pick up time, thankfully catching the pizza before I went into the oven, and everybody enjoyed it. read more

I grew up in Plainfield. Eating this when I was a little kid. I graduated high school in 1984. When I moved to the south side, we used to go to the white land location or the one I think was on 135. My parents moved Monrovia. I eat at the one in Mooresville now every time I come back to Indiana. I love this pizza. I think about it before my trips. read more

Moved into Mooresville area. Great to be back in my home state after moving around the country my whole life. Pizza King is a must for us. I've never found a pizza place that dominates the pie with toppings like they do. I would rather eat meat, cheese, sauce and veggies with a little bit of bread, i.e. very thin crust. All that dough from chains is too many carbs for me. Regardless of the other reviewers opinions, PK will always be a regular option for us. Heard about Pizza King from a friend in the Indy area and had the opportunity to drop in to this particular location. Just as I was lead to believe; excellent and extremely generous ground sausage that completely covered the pie. Unfortunately, my mistake was not remembering to add extra cheese as I was told to help keep all the excess sausage from falling off. I won't hold my mistake against them, but I can say that the fast, prompt service and friendly employees made up for the mistake I won't make on my next visit. This has always been my favourite pizza joint since I was a little kid. The high price is worth it when you want to treat yourself. I recommend Pepperoni all the way. Tastes amazing fresh & hot, as well as cold leftovers the next day. I love Pizza King. read more

What an Indiana tradition .. I'm quite the health nut but I couldn't help myself to suggest to my boyfriend that we get some Pizza .. despite it being the night before Thanksgiving. We were on the road .. and ordered a large Royal Feast with a side of bread sticks. I also tend to eat veggie-based meals so this was way out of the norm for me...but it had been a few years since my last Pizza King splurge so why not. I ordered the pizza when we were about an hour away and the food was ready - and still very hot when we arrived! We took the food back home with us, but while I was briefly inside to pick up the order, I noticed that the restaurant itself had seen some better days. A bit old... a bit run down. Old carpeted flooring and not much of a memorable interior. The drab decor didn't both me though. The bread sticks were soft (perfection for me) and we inhaled them. The pizza was great as well .... each slice weighing quite a bit as they never short-change you on the toppings. Meat was falling off the pizza. The Royal Feast is not for the faint of heart as its very greasy but wow is it good. read more

Our family favorite for FORTY years. It's the first place our military son wants to order food from when he comes home! Our grandkids love it when we announce PIZZA KING Party! The mounds of ground pepperoni and sausage is our fav on their thin crunchy crust. Strombolis are also delicious and over loaded with toppings... love the soft breadsticks. We usually just do drive through and loved that for a bit we could get delivery through Mooresville Menu. It would be the icing and the cherry on top the cake if they added delivery but we understand. It's part of our traditions to run to town for our favorite hometown pizza. We've tried other Pizza Kings for the trains and atmosphere but Mooresville Pizza King pizza and food is superior in every way! Service is always reliable at the drive through, slightly slower inside but we understand that the kitchen is always busier than the dining room as carry out is 90% of their business. It's so worth the wait if on occasion it takes longer when you go inside to pick up. Calling to place an order is quick and easy and I don't think we have ever been given a wait time longer than 25-30 minutes from order to pick up. Love our Mooresville Pizza King! read more

This is the first place i want to eat when I come home. I live in LA and there is no pizza like this out here. And when I try to describe it to someone, I can't... I just can't. You have to eat it to know what I'm talking about. Teeny tiny pepperoni chunks on flat crispy crust, cut into squares with burnt edges. I traditionally love all the Central Indiana Pizza King restaurants. However, this is one of the worst Pizza Kings I've been to in terms of atmosphere, service, and most importantly, pizza. The pizza was a poor imitation of their distinctive square-cut pie. The crust was cardboard-like. We ordered one of the famous Royal Feasts, called a "deluxe" here for some reason. It had a few of the veggies and way too much of the pepperoni and sausage. The atmosphere was sparse at best. A few booths were scattered around the perimeter of the eating area. The rest of the space was taken up by dingy, rectangular kitchen tables. The sole 13" TV was blasting only infomercials during our nearly one-hour stay. Needless to say, I now know all I need to know about the Little Giant interchangeable ladder. After we ordered, it took more than ample time for our pizza to reach the table. And, no, the place wasn't busy on this ordinary Tuesday evening. We had to visit the ordering area to get drink refills and a take-home box -- though I'm not sure why we bothered with the latter. I strongly recommend a visit to many of the Indiana-area Pizza Kings. They are great places filled with great people and delicious pizza and sandwiches. It smells like chlorine for cryin' out loud! This Pizza King is just plain strange. The odor of chlorine from the pool store next door smacks you in the face as soon as you enter. The staff is young and uncaring. They don't even offer fountain soda refills! Just an odd combination of things all around. Not a place we will frequent. read more

This is a solid pizza joint and apparently a Mooresville tradition. The pizza itself is good and well priced. Thin crust with a sweet tomato sauce; plenty of cheese and square cut pieces. Toppings are generous but not overly so. I do like the crumbled pepperoni. Sandwiches are good. Bread sticks are good. Employees have always been over-the-top friendly and helpful. The dining room is very sparsely decorated and the booths are hard plastic, so no frills whatsoever. Customer bathroom is dank but functional. No surprise that they do a brisk carry-out business. Great pizza! The people that work here have always been very friendly and the food is ready when estimated. You get a lot of your main ingredient but I have found that other toppings not so much. The sausage is the fine ground kind, which to me is the best on pizza. The crust is the perfect texture and crunch. I wish they delivered, they are well worth the drive into town. read more

This is the best of the Pizza King experience, a unique Indiana pizza. Mooresville has a real gem here, i was raised in IN, but have not lived here for 25 years, every time i get back i try to have a Pizza King pizza, but beware... not all Pizza Kings are created equal. Many small towns in central and northern IN have a local Pizza King but the quality can vary. The Mooresville location is one of the best I've experienced. I was waited on promptly, the girl didn't take my name, but when i returned in 20 minutes , the same gal gave me a warm welcome and handed me a piping hot pie-Indiana small town hospitality. The crust was perfect, thin and crispy. The pepperoni is unique, it is finely ground and a little spicy, the toppings were generous and the total experience could not have been better. This place should be the model for all Pizza Kings, I wish we had one of these in Austin -it would be a gold mine. Visit this Pizza King, you won't be disappointed. read more
