First impressions were that this is a Mom and Pop place that I am guessing has been around for quite awhile and known to the locals. There were not many people in the establishment on this Sunday evening. The waitress was friendly and invited us to sit wherever we wanted. Rugiono's appears to need a bit of a face lift. There was a Pepsi fridge in the dining area and it was we could see cheese being stored in there. The decor was dated and there was a pile of boxes that could be seen at the end of the restaurant. We ordered a few personal pizza's, a Grinder (or sub) and some breadsticks to start out meal. I have to admit when the breadsticks came out I was confused. They looked more like pizza triangles with cheese on them. However, when I took a bite, I was pleasantly surprised the cheese was fantastic, and the dough was on point. It made me excited to get my pizza. Once the pizza came, I was very pleased. I did takeoff the jalapeños because it was too spicy for me, but everything else was fantastic on the menu. It says that they make their dough fresh every day and you could really taste that they do. I was not as impressed with the grinder and the potato wedges that came with it tasted like they've been in the freezer too long. I still have to give this place four stars though, because I loved the pizza! I would love to see Rugiono's get a makeover, but for Pizza I would definitely go again if I am in the area.

As anyone in the area knows there aren't a lot of local options without driving somewhere so sometimes you do what you have to do when you need to and that is what this place is for me. My brother eats their pizza slices all the time with no complaints or issues and will have me grab him a couple of pieces when he knows I am in town and headed back to the lake. He is a little weird as he likes to throw a few slices wrapped up in saran wrap in the cooler to eat it on the boat. I got their chicken tenders and potato wedge snack pack and they were gone before I hit Lake Drive. I have ordered them before and they are usual pretty good but the fresher the better. You have more options for food in Angola or Coldwater but if you are in Fremont, time or hunger is an issue, or you want to order something different for everyone in your car and get it fast the Eagle's Nest will do the job for you and get you on your way.
