Note that this is a Pizza Hut CLASSIC and a far cry from the poor earlier reviews. You can find the Lavonia Pizza Hut Classic at 14249 Jones St, Lavonia, GA 30553 right off the Jones St Exit from I85. There's plenty of parking in the dedicated lot or nearby - this is not a busy place (there's also an Antique mall across the street if you're into that kind of thing). We were pretty exited last year (2025) when the sign for this Pizza Hut changed to "Pizza Hut Classic" - however the first time we attempted a visit it seems they weren't quite where they needed to be - there was one guy and he said something about being patient as his opening crew member hadn't shown up. We left with the idea of returning later. Months have gone by and I'm happy to report that the place is open with someone maintaining the front and taking orders (presumably takeout and seating - at least she also acted as our server). This is an original Pizza Hut location with the wooden walls and trapezoidal windows. As you enter you'll see that the original stain-glass lamps are suspended above the booths - it has the original retro vibe, although this location's floors have those faux-wood ceramic tiles instead of the early square tiles. Unfortunately, this location doesn't have the salad bar and I'm not sure if it will ever be busy enough to maintain one - as wrote earlier, this is a rather sleepy area - from my past visits I think it's mostly a Lake Hartwell community with the largest quantity of visitors during warm lake/swimming months. At this location there's one Ms Packman, unfortunately either broken or at least unplugged (from memory there were typically two, often one would be a sit-down two-player machine). The background noise of the video games is definitely part of the nostalgia. But enough about the interior, the menu was a laminated treat with most of the items you would remember including the PAN PIZZA! Of course we ended up ordering a couple of these - if you've ordered from Pizza Hut's regular locations you'll know that what they're calling "thick crust" seems to be a frozen pre-made thing. This was pretty close to the original "poured-in" crust - even the pans appeared to be original retro with years to baked on staining (pretty much impossible to remove). We also ordered a couple of drinks - unfortunately all Pepsi products but we suffered through it. Ours were served in clear plastic cups - I was hoping for the original red and noticed that the big table seated behind us (we were in a side booth) had all original red. I guess it was the luck of the draw that we got clear. The 2 pan pizzas we ordered took a while as you would expect - around 25 minutes but I'd say it was worth it. These tasted and looked pretty much as I remembered (I ordered a supreme sans olives - I think that was also the last one I ordered back in the 80's). The crust had that baked on quality you don't find in a regular slung pizza. If it was made from a pre-frozen crust it certainly fooled me. I'd say kudos to the Pizza Hut team that's started bringing this store back - I'm sure we'll be visiting often. Service was very good but with only one person manning both the counter and waiting tables it was a bit slow. Getting carry out feels like they make the crappiest pizza possible. The pizza is great if you dine in. However, we have been refused service multiple times in the last couple months. This place needs to stop being so cheap and hire a server so you can dine in. read more

BEWARE, just brought home the worst meal we have ever had from a Pizza Hut, Lavonia, GA. The new pizza melts were terrible, very hard crust tasted like greasy cardboard, the meat inside the meat lovers melt was without flavor, very little pepperoni in the pepperoni melt, the salad was just wilted lettuce, small amount of cheese and hard croutons, the cheese breadsticks had a hard crust on the outside edge that you could not eat, had to peel it off before you could eat it. The garlic sauce was watery without flavor. Lots of this food had to be thrown away since it was not fit to eat. So I think it was a combination of poor quality products as well as the people cooking & preparing the food without good training or just did not care what they served. This food did not look like what was described online . So if you want a good tasty dinner do not go to the Lavonia, GA Pizza Hut!!! read more

I was staying in a hotel suite on the same exit as this pizza hut and as most everyone I know when we ordered pizza used my cell phone with a south Carolina area code and was rudely told they didn't deliver to sc and quit wasting their time blah blah blah as I am calmly telling this ignorant person that I am across the street in hotel but no wouldn't take my order tried to call on hotel phone and got hung up on recognized my voice wow very bad business and I just went and spent money at a place that appreciate their customers and I really did like y'all's pizza tooo shame on y'all read more

Food was Amazing and Cory did a heck of a job on the floor and in the kitchen

If I didn't live 10 mins from town I would have taken it back. Ordered a medium, pan, meat lovers pizza and the dough is raw in the middle. I've never seen anything like this. Tried cooking longer and the toppings got done but the crust was still gummy like it was raw or maybe wet. It was totally disgusting. Ordered a pizza with a salad. Pizza showed an hour later. Delivery driver laughed and said it had been sitting there "forever". Also salad was not delivered. Called back and spoke to the manager and he advised he can only offer a store credit not a refund. So you screw up something but you can't give me a refund? Who operates a business in this capacity? Pizza is what you expect from the Hut. Service is 'adequate', and that's being kind. Limited menu, out of multiple toppings, and NO SALAD BAR! There are other food options in Lavonia which are better... if you're in a Pizza mood... drive to Royston or Toccoa. read more

I don't know if they even deserve a star. The inside was Infested with flies. We a table of 4 and another table of 3 were only ones in there. They brought our drinks we ordered breadsticks had cheese on them which was wrong never came back so we could let them know. Not once came to see if we needed more drinks. My husbands pizza never came, ended they didn't put sauce on it. Say in there over an hour and a half for breadsticks 2 personal pans and a medium pizza. I ordered pizza Tuesday so my wife could relax 50.00 worth online they never delivered the pizza.. called the next day for a refund they said I had to go online to do it.. Called for a delivery, and hat a 1&1/2 hr wait time at 7.00 on a Wednesday night. Called and was told they had 1 driver and he was swamped. This restaurant seems to always have issues of every type from bad food to poor service. The problem goes further than store staff. The owner obviously dont care, and corporate cares even less. Worst pizza place ever. I generally enjoy Pizza Hut's pizza but this particular one was horrible. Ordered online for a 7:00pm pickup. Arrived at 6:58 and was third in line. Only three tables were occupied. You would have thought they were slammed. Five employees behind the counter and not one of them greeted the customers or even made eye contact. I listened in amazement as Molly Meth-head, the boss lady cussed, berated and belittled her employees. Her gravely Marlboro voice screaming that she was going to kick Dakota's ass...Dakota being some poor unfortunate in the back who we never saw, just savagely screamed at and about from the front of the store. When one of the drivers came in, the boss greeted her rather than any of the customers who had been standing there completely ignored in front of her for 10 minutes. More asses were threatened with kicking until finally another driver came back. This driver actually noticed the customers and started greeting the first in her view, but not the first in line. She seemed afraid to help and get caught as evidenced by her hunching forward and whispering like she'd get beaten if found helping us. Fourteen minutes into my wait, I was given my order. Not one customer was shown their pie, which is Pizza Hut policy, just handed their boxes and then cashed out. Man this place was awful. I don't know who gets treated worse, customers or employees but I'll eat the business end of a week old road kill skunk from the inside out before I return the this hellhole. We love Pizza Hut. But we absolutely do Not love the one in Lavonia Georgia. They always mess up our order no matter how simple and we chalked it up to young kids learning the job but this last mess up could've made us very sick. Keeping it simple, we ordered a meat lovers, and an hour and a half later we got a cold pepperoni pizza with ham and sausage thrown on obviously after it was cooked. They couldn't even be bothered to make our order fresh. We live 5 minutes away, what were they doing for an hour and half??? It was obviously a gross recycled pizza *cringe* definitely not something that's supposed to be recycled. We called the manager and complained and offered to bring the pizza back to the store and I kept getting the run around and the manager sent me to some guys voicemail. That was a $26 pizza including a generous tip, that we fed to our dogs. I would recommend everyone steer clear of this particular pizza Hut unless bad service and salmonella appeal to you. read more
