Pizza Emporio is right across the street from Sagrada Familia, and depending on where you're sitting in the restaurant you can actually see the building itself. We came here on a weekend, I can't remember if it was Saturday or Sunday, and they had a sign right outside of their establishment advertising a special for pizza/pasta, and a drink for 9 euro and it wasn't until after we sat down and ordered our drinks that the waitress tells us that it's only valid on weekdays, so my question is: Why would you have the sign outside on a day that the special is not valid except to maybe lure customers with a lie? I felt cheated, and frankly did not appreciated their dishonesty. If the food would have been great then maybe I could have let it slide but the best thing here was not the pizza unfortunately, to me it was the salad. We ordered a veggie pizza that had practically no cheese, so to me it wasn't really veggie, it was Vegan. At least the vegetables tasted fresh, but there was nothing that stood out to me, or made me think that this is a place you have to come back to. read more

We were a little short on time for our 2:00 Sagrada Familia scheduled entrance, and this place looked to be our best option for lunch. Normally, restaurants that situate themselves adjacent to major tourist attractions have little reason to offer any real value, but we were pleasantly surprised by Pizza Emporio. Part of a Spanish chain of seven restaurants, they have a fairly large menu along with pastas, salads and rice dishes. Terrace was pleasant and the pizzas came out pretty fast. We chose the Rustica and the Mare Monte. Both hand-tossed, pretty and with fresh, quality ingredients. A little more than we wanted to spend for lunch, but oh well, we were on vacation! read more

I think even visiting Italy I can honestly say that this was better Italian food then the other Italian restaurant that we visited during our European trip. Very friendly staff. My girlfriends pizza place while she lives in Barcelona . We came to eat here before we visited La Sagrada Familia and it did not disappoint . While I don't remember what the name of the pizza was it had different types of meat and it was prepared to perfection . The crust and topping are all top notch and of great quality . The food comes out pretty quick (about 10 min) and the service was pretty good . read more

The place is very nice. The food was delicious but not that amazing after all. The service wasn't great because there was only one waiter and it always took so long for every request. Especially in such a big restaurant, one waiter is just not enough! The toilets where awful: dirty toilet, wet floor, just ONE toilet, nothing to dry your hands after washing them. All in all I would recommend the food but not the whole restaurant itself. read more

Being that this is right across the street from Sagrada Familia, it is a very touristy spot. You've been warned. For me, the waiter was ok. She wasn't rude in anyway, but she didn't go out of her way to make it 'the best experience.' She brought my food, and answered my questions so it was all fine for me. I ordered the Magherita pizza with sangria (which is the pitcher only, not the glass), and it was pretty good. Their pizzas are thin crust, but large, so I was pretty stuffed until the next morning. The sangria was sweet, cold, and the best part. The prices are reasonable, but the bill will be more if you order the sangria or wine. Again, you were warned. They also have pastas, salads and desert dishes, so it does have a little something for everyone. I would recommend it, and perhaps in the future, I will go here again. read more

Best Sangria and pizza for a chain. I had the diabola pizza and it was delicious. It had some spice to it but not overwhelming. It was my favorite restaurant while in Barcelona. The appetizer comes out at the same time as the meal so there's no point in ordering an appetizer. read more

A good, but pretty basic pizzeria. Good pizzas, never tasted the pastas so I can't say anything about those. This time had the Pollo calzone, the dough is a bit too soft and heavy but fillings made up for it. Pretty cozy and the view of sagrada familia is always a plus. read more

The atmosphere is nice but everything else is average (we didn't try the pizza just pasta) and the thing made me put just one star is the facts we order some appetizers and they didn't brought us the one we ordered or the kind of pasta ( they brought tagliatelle instead the penne). The view of La Sagrada Familia and food at Emporio Pizza are amazing; however, the service had me and especially my friend walking away feeling down right insulted. While our waitress was picking up our plates, etc., she dropped a butter knife on the table. Her face dropped, which I thought was her natural reaction after dropping a knife, but my friend quickly picked it up and handed it to her with a smile - assuring her that no harm had been done. As soon as she walked away, my friend noticed that her iphone screen was shattered. Not one to make a fuss, but concerned about the tiny bits of glass now all around the phone's "home" button, she went inside to see if there was something they could do ... Unfortunately, the waitress told the manager and my friend, that she saw the knife hit the table, and that we were just "trying to get out of paying our bill." The bill was 18.50 Euro. Like I said, my friend (and I) are not ones to make a fuss, but we are both lawyers in the United States and assure you that we were able to (and did) pay the 18.50 bill. This accusation rightfully upset my friend and she continued to try and have a broken Spanish/English conversation with the manager, who told her that the restaurant's insurance "would not cover a broken phone, that could have been dropped before." (the glass was obviously freshly broken - why else would there still be shards breaking off from the screen?) A waitress that spoke English and that was not yet on the clock came over to help with the translation and offered to show my friend the nearest shop where she could get it fixed. My friend took her up on the offer, but declined to foot the 130 Euro bill to fix the screen. She opted for a "protector screen" to ensure she doesn't slice her thumb open, but couldn't stand the humiliation of paying for someone else's mistake minutes after Emporio Pizza basically called her a liar to her face. The shattered phone is definitely an inconvenience, seeing that we are traveling in Europe for the next 1.5 weeks, but in the scheme of things - it is not a huge deal. The rude and condescending staff at Emporio Pizza; however, was the most disappointing part of the whole experience at this establishment. Honestly, we understand if the restaurant could not/would not pay to fix the phone or even would not have comped our 18.50 Euro meal. However, I can not understand how someone who negligently broke a customers phone did not and would not take responsibility for their actions and simply apologize. It would have been nice for Emporio Pizza to pay for their waitress's butter fingers, but wasn't totally expected, but an "I am sorry," most definitely was. You break it - you say sorry for it. 10 out of 10 would not recommend. read more
