The restaurant is bright, open, with a good amount of seating. Tables seem to be able to be rearranged for larger parties. I was there with 3 other people. We'd looked at the menu in advance and I am glad we did because the wall of text about the counter where you order was a little daunting in its density. I got the chopped cheese sandwich, which I've never seen outside of NYC. A coworked got some wings, another one got loaded fries with steak and shrimp, and I forget what coworker #4 got. It seemed medium busy. We sat. And waited. The wings came out first and looked pretty good. They were nice, meaty wings. Crispy, but a little dryer looking than I prefer. I want my wings to swim. The fries looked good, the toppings were plentiful, but I would have liked them a little crispier. My chopped cheese was mediocre. The bread was good, the meat and cheese were tasty but there wasn't really enough on it, and I didn't really get a good taste of the sauce that was supposed to be on it. Maybe I'm just used to the way they come from a bodega in New York.

We absolutely love coming up here !!…read more The staff is always cheerful and they greet you as soon as you walk in the door and providing there is seats that are open they see you very quickly . The wings are simply the best as I always state in previous reviews. They are priced right and they offer a whole range of different flavors and these are not the little baby wings that you would get at some other place. These are nice size wings. When we go on Saturdays, they usually offer different type of food options in specials and you really cannot beat. The pricing in a food is well prepared. It's a restaurant/bar/sports bar whatever sport is going on. You're gonna find it on all of their screens so for the sports chunky this is heaven. Thank you for always providing such amazing wings and we will be back soon !!

The wings were excellent. Perfectly crispy yet juicy. They were fantastic with hot sauce. The food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait. We were there after dinner time and there was a steady flow of people coming and going with food orders. I recommend calling ahead if you don't have time to wait. The space is clean, the service is great, and the person taking our orders was very patient as we read through all the options and found it almost impossible to pick what we wanted because it all looked and smelled so good.

The staff was friendly and the young man at the front that took our order was handsome, and very great with customer service. Since this is southern cuisine I was expecting a burst of flavors and taste from good comfort food but I was not obliged. The food was hot and took about 25 minutes which I didn't mind. And the food did LOOK good. I would suggest a tweak in the recipes overall I would return

We dropped by for lunch on a recent weekday. She ordered "The Meltdown" as her meal whike I had the "What The Weck" sandwich. Both were excellent, and my sandwich was a decent approximation of a Buffalo NY favorite (roast beef on a kimmelweck roll). Authentic "weck" is impossible to find in this area and I appreciated their attempt. Our bartender/server also brought additional chips for The Meltdown after we devoured the first batch. Whatever tortilla chips Flincy's uses are slightly thicker and ideal for this queso dip. Service here is fast and friendly. There's a large indoor bar/seating area as well as a nice outdoor bar. The outdoor space is enclosed and heated during cooler months and is a great open air spot when the weather warns up. The beer list isn't extensive but still a nice mix of the usual domestics and a few craft beers. My companion ordered a glass of pinot grigio and was pleasantly surprised by both the taste and presentation (small carafe and stemless glass). The atmosphere in Grotto is dynamite. This is clearly a "regulars" place but staff and fellow patrons were great. We truly enjoyed our visit and most definitely will return.
