What a sad experience…read more The gentleman seating guests and acting as the waiter was disorganized, slow and absent minded. It made me wonder if it was his first night or filling in for a friend. The Kafti, tabbouli and babaganoush with pomegranate yogurt has to be one of the worst dish I ever ordered in my life. The Kafta meat was barely seasoned but cooked right. The tabbouli/quinoa salad reminded me of the one Costco sells. I would bet they don't make it themselves. The babaganoush and the pomegranate yogurt didn't taste fresh at all. Way too much zaatar on the plate to fill up empty space. The lasagna was average. Not much seasoning. Plain pasta and plain tomato sauce. Good portion. The kids pizza was good. The dough tasted fresh and made in the restaurant. Go for pizza i guess.

There aren't a whole lot of places to eat in downtown Antigonish, so we went with Brownstone and…read morecrossed our fingers that it would be good. We were pleasantly surprised! They're located off of the main road in downtown and if you arrive after 4pm, you can park at the metered parking for free! Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by a staff member and told to sit wherever we like. It's a medium sized restaurant with two sections and a small bar. The menu is diverse and prices are on par with the other restaurants in the area. I got the soup of the day for $6.95 which was tomato cheddar and it came with a delicious biscuit! For my entree I went with the steamed mussels for $13.95. It was a decent sized portion and I was extremely pleased with both items that I ordered. Hubby got the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap for $15.95 and loved it! They have a diverse cocktail menu filled with local craft beers, wines, spirits, etc. I had a pint of the Butcher Block Red Ale and it was smooth and somewhat bold. The food came out fast and the service was super friendly! I loved how they had the place all decorated with pumpkins and fall leaves. Very festive! I would highly recommend this place if you're passing through Antigonish!

After a quick look over the menu at Justamere, I was ready to not be happy with my breakfast…read moreexperience. I'm not a pancake or toast guy, which seemed to make up their two main breakfasts. I decided I would suck it up and just eat, pay and leave a constructive review detailing what I didn't enjoy once I was in the car. It was eat here, or not eat until Truro. When the waitress came to take our order, I choose the big breakfast which consists of 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, toast, 3 meats and home fires. I immediately asked the waitress to exclude the pancakes and toast. To my surprise she immediately recognized the loss of value I would be receiving and countered with "would you like extra anything else instead of the pancakes and toast? How about double meat and some extra homefries?" I was sold! I could not have been more wrong about my preconceived opinion of this place. The food was delicious. The quality of the the ham and bacon were premium. They were predominantly meat and not fatty filled pieces. They were the kind of cuts I'd spend 10 minutes at the supermarket looking for. The hashbrowns did not appear to be store bought, and the coffee was fresh and kept refilled without any policing on my part. I can say with 100% assurance that the next time I am back in Antigonish, I will be making an intentional visit to Justamere to try another item on the menu. Maybe lunch, time will tell. Tl;dr: Food was great, service was great, staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed and the establishment was very clean! Highly recommend.
