Haven't been here in quite a while, but decided we wanted some pizza and to check out the updates since the fire. The remodel was very well done, it feels much more open and just overall nice. Food tasted better as well. In the past I felt like the under crust was over done, or very onion forward tasting (I don't get onions on my pizza) and it was very noticeable. It didn't seem over done or have that oniony taste anymore. Service seemed fast and friendly. Definitely would check it out more. read more

On December 24, 2024, they suffered an awful fire, which required the business to go down to the studs, replacing/rebuilding the entire interior over several months, but they have reopened as of October 15, 2025. I recently visited and the interior is a much needed upgrade from the prior interior. Previously it was functional, however, the new layout is brighter, more inviting, sharper appearance, with an upscale feel. If you are picking up a pie, they have added a full bar with a good selection of drafts on tap, as well as some house special mixed drinks. As always and in spite of a fire, the charm and hometown appeal of this pizza parlor is as strong as ever! read more

One of the best pizza spots you will ever come to! This is a local Hidden Gem that really isn't much hidden anymore! It's that good. They cut the pizza into squares, it gets tossed into a literal fire brick oven! Call me delusional to consumerism and nostalgia but I absolutely love the pizza here! I'm sorry to say there wasn't much of anything to recommend this location. It's active and had a lot of people, but it was also noisy. You order at the counter and choose your seat, then pick up your pizza from the front, so service is pretty much non-existent. When we came in there must have been a rush because probably a quarter of the tables had not been bussed. On top of all that, we just didn't like the pizza. The crust was bready and the sauce was too sweet. It's a popular spot, but in our opinion, there's better pizza across the street. read more

I don't mean to slam y'all, cause I'm so glad you're open. But it seems like it's very poorly managed. Friday night was crazy. Like 20 people in line, not knowing where to order, where to pay, where to pick up. One register open and many employees running around seemingly very disorganized. Pizza Connection has been a staple in our house for as long as I can remember so much so that now that we have moved over an hour away we still regularly make the drive for the best pizza! We are so happy that they back up and running and I hope people can give them grace and patience as they get back into the swing of things. We loved Pizza Connection before the fire and we love it just as much (if not more) now! When our out of state family visits, they always want to come eat here! The staff is amazing- so very friendly, very welcoming. The owners are absolutely wonderful. You can tell that they put a lot of love in their pizzas and sides. The newly upgraded restaurant is gorgeous, they did an outstanding job (and we're so glad they added a bar area). Please keep in mind that this is a family-owned and operated establishment, so be kind and courteous to everyone. Its a small town family friendly restaurant and, yes, sometimes the wait time is a bit long (but it flows smoothly), and sometimes there isn't a table immediately available but every employee is doing their very best. Bring your date... bring your family... order a cocktail... enjoy the food! read more

The pizza was absolutely horrible. The cheese wasn't fully melted and sauce was still cold. My 3rd time trying it and I'm not going back. Tastes like cheap frozen pizza. Took about an hour to get it and the smell was so strong inside that I waited outside. read more

What a difference 12 years makes. I had a great experience in this pizza joint-now passed down to the son of the last owner. They are friendly, child/school-oriented, have a great menu, serve quickly and there food is tasty. Ample booth seating and arcade games for the kids. I found street parking, not sure if there's a lot. They do a big to-go business. I went midday and had the place almost to myself. I ordered a personal pan pizza to eat there, and a sub and salad for a later home meal. The home things were thoughtfully packed and everything was fresh & delicious. I'll be back. read more

Arrived around 8:15 on a Saturday night. Dining room was only about 25% (at the most) occupied with moderate to low carryout activity. And, with over a dozen people "working" the kitchen, it still took over half an hour to get my order. The Pizza was Ok, however the crust, upon which this purchased 60+ year old Ohio family recipe was revered for, was slightly above frozen grocery store garbage. Under or improperly baked, with burnt cheese all over the bottom yet dough and chewy, not crispy like tis recipe is famous for. (Jerry Burns r.i.p.). The dough at this location was originally hand made, not franchised out. The Dining room floor was littered with discarded Pizza ( where it belongs) and trash, with an army of staff socializing in the kitchen. Also the previously family oriented interior theme is now adorned with a Liquor bar right where children stand when families place their order. (saw one person at the bar mostly flirting with the tender. It cost me over $20. for a small (very) pizza and small drink. Extremely quiet there for a Saturday night. Don't think I'll be rushing back to what this place has become. read more

Being from up north we have a biased opinion when it comes to pizza that ours is the best...This pizza I thought was decent...seemed to between average to thinner crust...A bit thicker than mid-west crust but it still maintained some chewiness...It was like a cracker crust....cheese, sauce and pepperoni all were decent....Pizza cut strangely and it wasn't all that warm when I got it home...I got a medium pie and ate almost the whole thing by myself. read more

Absolutely my favorite pizza, period. The thin crust I've been going here for years and probably one of the most consistent pizza places I've ever been to. Believe it or not in my 49 years of living I have had pizza all over the world. I thought New York pizza was the best until I found myself sitting inside Pizza Connection in Auburndale. I sat in that old 80's looking restaurant as it reminded me of the skating rink waiting for my .50 cent slice of pie. I ordered my pizza pie at the counter reminding me of the 80's and sat down at the table that resembles a picnic table. As soon as my pizza was delivered to my table I felt happiness fill my body as I could smell the strong odor of pizza perfection. I slowly picked up the first slice of cheese, pepperoni, mushroom and slowly but carefully looked at it and asked my self if my journey would continue . I took my first bite. As soon as my tastebuds touched the slice of heaven I began to smile and so ever so slightly began to cry as I knew at that point my journey was complete. I had finally found the best pizza pie on the planet. On my second slice of that heavenly pizza, I raised that slice towards the heavens and yelled out "YeeHaa" as more tears ran down my cheeks. If you are looking for Chicago style thin crust this is NOT it- keep looking elsewhere. The only similarity is that they cut it in squares. I thought it was "fair" husband said extremely subpar. Pizza Connection has some of the most delicious pizza I've ever had. I love the way they cut it and their very thin crust. Their garlic knots are next level too. One thing that I did not like was that when paying for it they want a tip added to the bill. You have to pay before you get your meal. Ordered 2 pizzas and some sides at 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. Had to call at 6:00 to check on it. Hadn't even left the store. Manager sounded confused and flustered - then tried to tell me that wait could be longer during "peak" hours. Really?? 4:30 on a Wednesday is peak? Driver finally showed at 6:45 and was super sweet and apologetic. Pizza was ice cold and 1 was made incorrectly. Ordered mushroom, pineapple and black olive (for my 7 yr old) and showed up COVERED with banana peppers and no black olives. Tried to find an email to contact and nothing. Sooo disappointing. Especially on a $50 order. Update - the manager reached out to me and made it right. Delivered a new pizza to us tonight and it was excellent. read more

So disappointed to leave this review as this place has always been a favorite. Went in for lunch and was completely shocked. The only measures taken for covid was plastic barrier where ordering is done. Every employee had no masks. Prep people nor actual cooks either. Dirty tables everywhere. Employees delivering food with no mask all over the dining room. Our pizza was good as always but decided to box it up and leave as it was getting more and more packed and they were going about things as though covid had never existed. read more

Ordered a 14" build your own pizza. Added Sausage,pepperoni, and onions. Paid 18.76 plus tax. Pizza was the worst built or made pizza I've ever had. Had what looked like 15 grains of sausage, about 8 slices of pepperoni and couldn't even see onions on it however they were there, I could taste them. The guys at work have raved about this place since I moved to FL a year ago. I was craving pizza so we decided to check it out since we love trying local places. My guys are usually spot on when it comes to food, so I was excited to try it finally. We decided to get delivery and ordered a large meat lovers. After an hour and a half and no pizza (it's 13 mins away), my Bf called. They hadn't even left yet. Guy on the phone didn't offer any apology for it being so long either. The pizza arrived ten mins short of TWO HOURS. It's only Thursday. The delivery driver apologized at least. You could tell the pizza had been sitting out for awhile too because it wasn't even warm. Being new to town we're always asking the locals what restaurants we need to check out. This place has pretty much been the one constant place that 99% of those people mentioned and now that we've experienced it first hand, we now know why. We walked in and within seconds were greeted by Logan. Logan is one of those friendly faced guys that can sell ice to an Eskimo, so be prepared to come out of pocket if you get the opportunity to meet him. Really a great guy with a good attitude. We ordered the buy one 10" get one half off on Logan's recommendation. Pizza's came faster than we expected and were tasty. The wings were ok but we will most likely pass up on them the next time. As for dessert....They have these apple pie bites and if you're not a fan of pizza, you'll need to at least stop in and grab an order of these! read more

I've been coming here for over 20 years and the pizza is always excellent. A perfect combination of cheeze sauce and toppings. Until tonight, March 3rd 2023. Tonight the pizza crust was great as always but the pizza was very short on cheeze. I mean VERY little cheeze. Normally, looking from above all you see is lots of whiteish yellow cheeze and toppings. But tonight you saw very light cheeze and lots of red (sauce) and the always excellent toppings. And as a result the pizza flavor and quality was not much better than what you get at little ceasars and similar places. I have been patronizing Pizza Connection over 15 years and have never complained about anything! Ive taken business associates as well as my friends and family there! A few days ago I got a large Deluxe pizza for takeout. What I ordered is the same as I ALWAYS have! This time, for the first time, it didn't have black olives on it! I called them to talk about it and complain and they immediately told me it doesn't come with black olives on it although I have always ordered a Deluxe and it ALWAYS comes on it! They got belligerent with me, never apologized, and constantly told me I was wrong about that! Then hung up on me! When you pay $32(I gave them a 15% tip) for a pizza I would expect it to be right or made right! Outrageous and if this is how they do business they will be short lived!
