Meat Lovers Pizza

We ate on the inside which isn't very big but cute. Server was very attentive. The pizza was amazing but I was highly impressed with the Philly. Ever since we lost Big Tony's, I haven't found another local place that can make a great Philly until now.

In Town NEW pizza Place FAMILY FOOD ADVENTURE!!! I'd like to start by saying this is Sal's second location. Their first is in Auburndale, FL. Please note: We have never tried the Auburndale location. We were excited to have a new pizza place in our little town. This is a second pizza place to open in our town and it has a much better value for food ratio with an XL pizza for 18.99. We got one XL pizza, a large Calzone and an Italian sub. Drinks are can/cooler only. No fountain service. The pizza was good, now please remember I am from up North so I am a bit of a pizza snob. Once you have had real New York and Chicago pizza it's hard for the rest to compare, but it's definitely not the worst pizza I have had since moving to FL. The staff seemed a little out of order, but it's new so gotta give them time to get that together a bit more. The calzone was huge at 19$ for a large it can feed at least 3 people as a meal, but it was filled with cheesy goodness. The Italian sub was a standard sandwich, meats were ok, not boars head that's for sure!!! All in all yes we would return and we have. The second visit was take out. Pizza was the same as the first so they have the consistency so far and we got the Turkey sub with bacon, it was good, except the bacon as it was pizza bacon bits instead of strips. They should consider getting real bacon for their sandwiches as I would not order another sandwich with the current "bacon" they are using for the up charge. It's not worth it, it didn't really add anything to the sandwich. Either way we will be returning again and again as it is the best value for food in our town!!!! But as always TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!!

The lasagna and the hot honey pizza were both flavorful and clearly made with care. We really enjoyed the quality of the dishes. When we arrived, an older gentleman working inside kindly let us know that outside drinks were not allowed. We completely understood. Living in Florida, we carry steel water bottles everywhere because of the heat, but rules are rules. We purchased water with our meal without any issue. We decided to sit outside and the same gentleman even brought our plates and everything out to us, which we appreciated. However, shortly after, a man we believe was a cook came out of the kitchen and began scolding us for having our water bottles on the table. We explained that we understood the rule and had purchased water. He responded that "the appearance isn't good." I started to move the bottles to the ground when he became more aggressive and said they could not be there at all unless they were for a child. My husband got up to take them to the car. While this was happening, another man walked in carrying a bright pink sparkling sippy cup for his daughter who appeared to be under two years old. The same employee stopped him and asked if the cup was for him or the child. I think it was pretty obvious the pink sippy cup wasn't for the adult. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and uncomfortable. Had we not already paid for our meal, we would have left. It's a shame, because the food itself was good, but the way we were treated made the experience one we won't repeat.

The waitress we had was very kind and welcoming and bubbly with conversation. My family were all very pleased with their food, which consisted of bbq wings, lemon pepper boneless wings, a Reuben sandwich and fries and chicken fingers and fries. The only negative I have to say is I ordered a Greek salad without feta and the amount of dressing and oil was beyond an acceptable amount that I wasn't able to eat it all or even half. By the time I ate through the top layer of lettuce the entire bowl was wilted and drowning in oil. So my advice would be stay away from the salad and just enjoy the heartier options.

This becomes an issue when close to ten minutes and multiple staff pass by with no acknowledgment. I went to stop someone walking by in order to get a table. To be fair, they were busy, but I'm not sure that warrants crickets at front of house. We were sat at a wet table that smelled of wet rag and at this point, seriously considered leaving. Being hungry and seeing how busy it was, we decided to stay. Our server was seasoned and friendly. Our drinks took a while and as we reviewed the ever confusing menu, we decided to order some alcoholic drinks. Drinks arrived and we had to step out front quickly. I found our server and let her know we had to step out, but would be right back. She said no problem. When we came back about three minutes had passed and our table was cleared. She brought us our drinks again and took our order. We ordered the crazy bread and the pepperoni pockets as an appetizer. The only thing crazy about the bread was the cost. It otherwise compared to dominos. The pepperoni pockets were very good! I ordered a spinach gourmet calzone and my partner got the sun-dried tomato pizza. The calzone was as described on the menu. That said, I longed for the calzones of NYC with heaps of ricotta, mozzarella and spinach sautéed in olive oil, onion and fresh garlic. What I got was essentially a cheese bread with a hat on. Chunks of unseasoned tomatoes, fresh unseasoned spinach and mozzarella cheese-that's it. No seasoning of any kind, outside of the charred taste that all the items had from the oven itself. The sauce had a sweetness to it and this also was just...a far cry from what I'm used to. He said his pizza was cooked well, but lacked flavor. They're in business a long time, so something is going right. However, for me, it missed the mark on all levels. At the end of the day, you go out to eat for the food, the food here was less than Sysco quality. We won't return.

We were seated in the back room for a birthday dinner celebration. The room was extremely dark and we couldn't turn on the other lights because it was connected to the most dustiest ceiling fans that had at least 1/4 of an inch thick of dust. The woman who was coming in and out of the room to pour water in the water glasses had an attitude like she didn't want to be there. I asked her a question about the menu and she very dryly told me "you can't order that unless you are on the other side" then walked away. That's when I was inquiring about the bistro menu. At that point I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat anything there due to their lack of plant based items or even easily adjustable items so I just ate the bruschetta. However when we placed the order for the bruschetta it never came out. So once we asked about it, it was then comped and brought out. Our waiter was very irritated and annoyed it seemed with the large party he had to tend to but his assistant which was a younger more personable guy was way more pleasant to be around. The cost point for the food was beyond the taste and size of the portions. When I asked about kid options, the waiter told me he could have the chef make a kids steak or chicken tenders and fries. It was my mistake for not asking for the price since I assumed it was a kids portion. Granted the tiniest steak did come out I still had to pay over $24 which I would have purchased the regular adult size if that was the case. So some clarity on the menu options for the kids would have been greatly appreciated. I can go on and on about this place but ultimately I would recommend not to go here unless you don't care about customer service or price points. Upon leaving the family event, and getting home I then realized my debit card was never returned to me by our gracious waiter. So once we returned to retrieve the card another day we were greeted with the rudest and most annoyed individuals at the host station. Needless to say we will never ever return.

My server Kaleb was really great and informative, although a really busy day for a Wednesday he was on point. On to the food -- I ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer to start which were crispy, well seasoned & definitely HOT (cheese PULLLL) lol Next the classic trio because I wanted to try their chicken parm and their Alfredo. Both were really good, I would say the Alfredo lacked a little bit of sauce but that's just personal preference. My meal came with a side, I chose the chicken soup.. it was GOOD but very heavy seasoning which made it somewhat spicy, so I did not finish it. ( Kaleb did try to offer me something else which I appreciated however I passed on the offer.) I tried the Caesar salad and that was good and fresh. Almost forgot to mention the warm bread for the table was sooooo good! Lol ( I know you're thinking it's just bread?) but it was freshly baked, and the olive oil with seasoning was a perfect touch. Not pictured* since it was my first time they gave me a complimentary free dessert. I chose the strawberry cheesecake, which was fluffy, creamy and tasted really good. Not too sweet. I would definitely return back.
