Dark subterranean dive pizza bar. Loved it. Probably a pizza recipe from the 1960's. No bells or whistles, just pizza with full bar. Atmosphere is like your alcoholic uncle's basement, also from the 1960's. My wife is afraid to go back here, but I love it! read more

Great thin-crust pizza. Lots of cheese. A little of a challenge to get down the stairs to the cellar, but worth the effort.

This is a great pizza place thats a total dive. Been going here for over 40 years. Stopped in yesterday with our father and brother in laws that were first timers. Server did a great job and everyone had drinks and refills including me with beers. Got the large special and crust was perfect thin & crunchy. All their pizzas also have extra cheese. This is a locals only spot, if you're from out of town, don't go here! It's an experience at the pizza cellar, I grew up going here, literally my entire life. Very fond memories of baseball games at Shadow rock Park and then having pizza at the cellar! I live in Rockaway Beach now and have been frequenting here quite often. Finally got away from the pizza and I have to recommend the lasagna, manicotti, Reuben, and the wings are great as well. If you're from this area and you haven't heard of this place, come get out of your cave. It's a big world out here! It does kind of look like a dive bar, but that's part of the charm to it. I love going there in the winter time and they have the fire going in the big fireplace. The locals can get a little rowdy down there sometimes so be prepared for that, it can be a show! read more

Ordered a pizza on my phone for pickup. Pizza was ready to be picked up at time given. Got home and served the pizza. We got a surprise that I don't like on my pizza. The dough on the bottom was burned black charcoal, the crust was burned and the toppings were scarce. Will not get pizza or anything else from Pizza Cellar. Pizza Cellar used to be the place to go for pizza and good pizza at that, now I'd rather get pizza from Casey's. read more

Now, we've heard about this place for quite some time. Going into it, we wanted to like this place. After trying the place, it's beyond a disappointment. We started off with an antipasto salad. The garlic dressing wasn't too bad. But the salad contained no meat. And thought it did have some shredded mozzarella...there also was sliced PROCESS CHEESE in the salad. What? The pizza - the crust was like a tough cardboard to bite thru. The cheese had a rubber bounce bite. And the green pepper was a way overpowering presence, compared to the rest of the ingredients. The Chili - the beans were so mushy overcooked. The taste was very so so....and on the blander side. Overall - the challenge is the ingredient inputs. They're of a low quality - which in turn shows up in the past end dishes. read more

The crust has a hard, crispy bottom, the cheese is really good and melty, the sauce is nice and sweet,and the ingredients are fresh all but the mushrooms. We got there right at 11am, lady making pizzas seemed frantic that we were there. The other man stated they were making a large order (50 pizzas). If you open at 11, I'd assume you'd be open at 11. Even a note on the door stating they would be opening later would have been enough. We didn't appreciate the tone that made us feel like we were an inconvenience for being there. Oh my goodness. Take me back to my childhood! I used to visit the Pizza Cellar every summer in the late 80s when I would come see my grandparents, and loved the cozy feel and the stairs leading down to the pizzeria. I decided to take my husband and kids this week, and it did not disappoint! The owners have kept the same great look and feel. My husband said it was the highlight of the whole trip to Branson! The pizza was a fantastic thin crust and came out quick. The salad was huge and delicious -- very well done. The kids said they want to come back every time we are in town. The best Pizza in Branson. Reminds me of the thin crust pizza I get in Chicago at the small mom and pop joints. Some people complain about smoking in the building but it's all part of the atmosphere and I was born in the 80s so I'm not a crybaby about stuff like that lol. read more

I've been patronizing Pizza Cellar for 22 years. Tonight I stopped by to get my usual large pepperoni and jalapeños with all the ingredients on top of the cheese and cut like a pie. Straight away I could tell the male that took my order had a personal issue. When I received the pizza it was cut in the "party cut" style. When I ask about it, he literally cut it like a pie over the party cut and said it all tastes the same, "dumb ass". I left and will never go back!!! P.S. I was the only customer there.‍ read more

I love this place and all of its little issues can be looked past for how good the pizza is. I also want to shout out Charity (I think) for how on it she was the entire time we were there! BARTENDER/WAITER BEGGING FOR A TIP this is a place we use to go but not anymore got our own drinks when we first got there and sat down to play the machines they were a little busy but not bad so we waited for someone to ask us if we would like to order or if we would like another drink he walked past us and was very attentive to the table of ladies and any other woman that was there and our favorite waitress was there she is off work but she took our order and made sure we got our salads and drinks so we gave her a tip as she was leaving to go home we eat and I go and pay the bill and we sat at the bar for a few minutes to finish them and bartender asked how our drink was we said fine he copped a little bit of an attitude this from the guy that only had time for just the women in the Bar so we go to leave and he is going to the kitchen area and makes the comment "your drink was better than my tip" I was shocked we go up the stairs to go out the door and he chased us to the street yelling about his tip and beat red in the face he Growls at us and says FUCK OFF When I got home, I called and asked for the owner who I knew was there he said hold on and hung up on me i called right back and asked for the owner again and he told me the owner hung up on me and left so weather it was him hanging up on me or the owner either way very childish and why didn't the owner do something about his employees behavior is beyond me I would never let one of my employees ever treat one of my customers in that manner. he didn't even wait on us we tipped the one that did, and she was off work they should give her a raise. so, If you do go there Be careful. make sure you announce that you left and Tip and who you tipped, or the crazy bartender will chase you down to get it Go at your own risk. Head underground for some great pizza! Ok, first off, this place is damn weird. It probably hasn't changed a bit since the 1970s. You can still smoke in the place and there are ash trays on the tables. I haven't seen that since I was a kid. Ok, but the pizza...damn good. I went here the last Friday I was in Branson, MO and wished I'd went sooner as I would have been back a few more times. The sauce, cheese and sausage were absolute stand outs. Thin crust, perfect amount of sauce, thick stringy cheese and big Italian sausage bites, and the good kind of sausage, not tiny ground beef crumbles. Despite the weirdness of still being able to smoke inside, I'll be back for the pizza. And if you're a smoker, this is the perfect pizza place for you! They even have a full bar. read more

Decided to jump on the motorcycle with the wife, and cruise on down to Rockaway Beach. Upon arriving we parked out front seems to be enough parking around so really not an issue. What might be an issue for some is it's a flight of stairs to get down to the restaurant with no elevator for disabled people. The second issue I had was smoking is allowed throughout the entire establishment. While it seems they have good circulation, you still get a whiff of smoke here and there so if smoke bothers you; you may want to pass. Our server was great; she was extremely attentive even though it was a packed house, pretty sure she was running the bar too. We ordered the "house special pie" basically a supreme. We got thin crust and ordered it well done. Glad we ordered the medium because it was huge and loaded with toppings! I'm not kidding when I say each piece felt like a half a pound!! My wife thought there was an excessive amount of cheese, but I loved it!!! I would say it contends with a few great pizza places here in Springfield, and would put it in my top 5!!! The only complaint with the pizza I had was a flavorless crust, and the sauce needed something too. All in all though great pie! We will definitely be back, hopefully they will have a no smoking area soon. read more

La Pizza Cellar has the best pizza EVER!!!! It's a wonderful hole in the wall -- real people, real food, awesome atmosphere for chilling with a beer and a smoke (if that's you're thing). I will add the one star review for here was quite funny... most was true, but that is part of the experience. Sometimes you have to wait a while for your pizza, but it's oh so worth it! As for the smoking - yes this is one of the last smoking establishments but let's make note this is also a BAR! So.... if you don't want your baby to inhale smoke, don't take them to a BAR. (Side note: we are a non-smoking family, but will continue to inhale smoke for 2 hours/visit, with a smile, a song, and a great pizza! Keep up the good work, y'all) read more

Where do I begin....we ended up leaving before eating. My family and I came here because we were visiting family in the area. We didn't want to drive back through Branson so we found this place. Came in and the waitress was SO. RUDE. Right off the bat! She told my mom to move her chair because she was in the way. She seemed pretty unhappy she had customers come in. She also answered the phone 3 times while taking our order. Quite a few customers got food before we did and we were the first ones there. Also, there was smoking allowed in this business and it sucks smelling smoke when you are wanting to eat. We had an infant and I didn't want smoke near my infant. We waited about 45 minutes. We ended up walking out before we even received food. 0/5 stars, will not go back ever. read more

The husband loves this place. Relatives lived nearby for a while & that helped us visit more often at the Celler. It's some seriously thick pizza, which he loves. I can take or leave thick pizza. But for those who love it, head on down to Rockaway Beach. Don't dress up. The locals are sitting there in jeans and simple shirts.
