I swear I tried, but my family kept pushing me out of the way to get to the pizza I couldn't take a really good one. This pizza is some of the BEST I've had in Toledo. I've been traveling to NYC a couple times a month for the last few years and I can say it's as good as any I've had their as well. I ordered the Wise Guys and North End Brisket. Both were great, but that Brisket pizza was some of the best I've ever had. I was surprised that they actually delivered to Point Place..... for a little fee, however it arrived pretty quickly and everything was hot. My nephew, who is about pizza'd out, ordered the Carolina Boom chicken wings..... He LOVED them and I sneaked one out of the box and I had confirm they were delicious. In closing.... FANTASTIC. I came across this place out of the blue. Reading the reviews are kind of funny and they made me want to stop by and try. I don't think they are trying to copy Gino's. I think they knew they could improve on some things their way. I really enjoyed the West Side Sicillian. The sauce is only slightly sweet but also has a savory tang to it. It tastes like it was freshly made. The crust was great and not at all soggy. It held the toppings perfectly because it wasn't greasy. The service was top notch and it was done FAST. It took me longer to drive there and it was perfectly cooked. I will be coming back. read more

Unfortunately I'd say 4 out of 5 times your pizza will be wrong or they'll forget something. After the 20th or so screw up I contacted them to ask them to fix it, instead of just eating whatever I took home anyway like I usually did, and the dude argued that it was correct, as if I didn't know what I actually ordered. Also, their ranch sucks. When the pizza's right, it's on point. It's just a gamble on if it'll be right. Note: They do show you your pizza, but with how a lot of stuff is under the cheese you often can't figure out if something is missing or wrong until you start eating it. Although, I have been able to catch that they made my keto on a regular crust when they showed me the larger pizza, so I guess that's good. Weird pizzas are the thing to get here - avoid basic ones like "pepperoni and cheese". The Goodfellas is a surefire winner! The cheese bread is heavily seasoned and quite good. Lots of crust/sauce options, plenty of vegetarian/vegan friendly fare or restricted diet. Pizzas are a max size of 12 inches, this isn't the place to order for a large party. Can be difficult to get anyone to answer the phone, place your order online (that's the reason I knocked a star off). read more

Decent pizza but terrible service. We ordered 3 pizzas, including one with the hemp crust because my wife has food sensitivities so she can't have the other crusts. We drove all the way across town just to pick up this pizza, when we get there the girl at the counter says "oh, we are all out of hemp crust. Here's your other 2 pizzas. To make up for it we won't charge you for the 3rd pizza." SERIOUSLY?!?!? They had our phone number. THEY NEVER CALLED. So my wife had no supper. And the thin crust isn't thin or crispy. Today was my first time here. I was visiting from out of town and frankly did not expect much from Toledo in regards to pizza. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered two pizzas and both or fantastic. One was the north end brisket. I don't remember the name of the other but it was delicious as well. I'd definitely go again. I did have to wait a bit but that's because I didn't order in advance and didn't order the daily special. It was well worth the wait regardless. I may end up going here every time I visit Toledo. Normally I wouldn't leave a review after only going once but I don't think that I'll be coming back. It's not that it was bad I just didn't like it. I was super excited to try pizza cat because they've been around for a little while now and everybody in Toledo Raves about it. I will say that the man working was very nice and pleasant. I liked the crust it had a good texture it was a little gooey . I'm a sauce person I normally order extra. I did not like the sauce here at all. To me it tasted very sweet and didn't really have the flavor that I look for. It really just tasted like straight canned tomato sauce with sugar added to it . I also ordered sausage as one of my toppings and it was like the Frozen kind that comes in a bag that looks like rabbit poop. I wasn't going to say anything about this because it happens and it's really not that big of a deal to me but I'm leaving a review so I guess I'm going to mention it .I also found a hair on my pizza, just a little one, but still. So I don't think I'll be going back to pizza cat, I just isn't for me. read more

Great pizza and if we weren't in a pandemic or the employees were wearing masks I'd be giving a five. I'm giving a five for the quality of the pizza but 1 star for not wearing masks. I have had their pizza when it was brought in at events and when it was served at the Ottawa Tavern and it was always great. Went there for the first time tonight since they've been on Monroe street and again the pizza was great and some unique pizzas. I love how they name the pizza's after famous Toledo restaurants/coffee shops. Here is where my issue was, the cashier wasn't wearing a mask not was behind pleixglass. I went into the restaurant wearing a mask and the couple behind me waiting also had masks on. If the customers are being responsible, then so should the front line staff. Also saw someone who I assume was a cook come to the front counter to speak with the cashier with no mask on. If they aren't following that safety protocal (which is also a regulation right now), it has me concerned what other safety procedures they aren't following. The employee that took the order and the casier were both very friendly. Until this pandemic is over with or I hear they are requiring their front line staff to mask up, I won't be returning. When this pandemic is over with, I'll be returning for sure. read more

Definitely a takeout spot. They have picnic tables outside, but it isn't anything fancy. We shared the Old West End which was a tasty cheese pizza with warm ricotta and goat cheese. I don't usually like thin crust pizza, but the crust was delicious with crispy edges. You have the option to put sundried tomatoes on top which added a little kick. The drinks are super cheap. We will be back when we return! Looking forward to trying more pizzas. read more

We ordered through deliver Toledo, I am a huge fan of cheese, always have been so the Old West Ender was right up my ally. It came to the door quickly and was super hot and definitely fresh. This is NOT your typical pizza place and I love that about them. The cheese bread, ohh my god, and they have some dipping sauces that are out of this world. I couldn't stop thinking about it two days later and so we ordered again. I'm telling you, give it a try! You won't be sorry, keep this amazing local pizza joint open. Everybody was friendly. Pick up was super easy and the food was on point. They also know how to make garlic bread on sub buns 110% better than Gino's can down the road. The crust was cooked perfectly, and the sauce is tangy but tasty, and it's just enough toppings to make a really good pizza. Only giving 3/5 stars because of the marketing of the restaurant. I didn't feel that there was adequate marketing of what the restaurant provides on the website or even onsite. On their website, it does not specify that you can order specialty pizzas or what they provide. I also could not find a contact phone number on the site to ask. I got a cheese and pepperoni pizza. They were ok. Nothing to brag about for basic pizza. My first experience put me off but I'm interested in trying their specialty pizzas. It says they require a $20 minimum for specialty pizzas which is excessive if you only want one pizza. read more

Toledo is blessed with really good pizza. It's hard to separate yourself from the norm here in Toledo. A few places have. Inky's has an original pie. Village Idiot, Home Slice, and Mama Mary's do something different well. Village Pizza in Temperance serves a good purpose. But they all must bow to the taste bomb that is Pizza Cat. "Toledo Style Pizza," huh? I agree; I've said it for years...there is such a thing, and this is it. I still think Amie's is, by a wide margin, the best Toledo Style pie in town, but Pizza Cat is no slouch. And, Pizza Cat is much closer to where I live. According to City Paper, the owner, Matt, worked at Gino's across the street? I believe that too; the pizza (both are Toledo Style) is very similar. Pizza Cat's sauce is not quite as sweet as the other TS places, but it's still very tangy and flavorful. I can't decide which I like better. The whole idea of a local business being tightly entwined with, and contributing to, the surrounding community? Love it. Keep it up, boys. The staff? Friendly and fantastic. Much politer than the folks who currently work at Gino's. Complaint number 1: The crust at Pizza Cat? Yes it's soft Toledo Style crust, but it can be soggy (two out of three pies were beyond soft, they were soggy...a couple minutes more in the oven would have made them perfect). It's a shame I couldn't CALL ahead and request the pie to be just a touch more done. And that brings us to complaint number 2... Complaint number 2: Pizza Cat has no phone line. Well, that move certainly saves some money, and, maybe there are other motivations for the Facebook Messenger thing, but it's damned inconvenient. Yeah, I know. It's 2017, and phone lines are so "mainstream," but you can #keepcolonyweird, and still get a phone. (Or, at least expand ordering methods to include Twitter or Instagram). Pizza Cat serves up an excellent Toledo-style pizza: round, sweet sauce, cheese to the edge for those crispy burnt bits. I have tried their cheese and Old West End specialty (a bunch of cheeses, including goat cheese). Each time, the pizza has been uniformly delicious. In addition, their staff have all seemed helpful, polite, and genuinely invested in the place. The one flaw is their business model, which is kind of confusing. You can't order over the phone, and they don't have dine-in. Twice I have gone in to order in person, once I ordered over Facebook messenger. I was skeptical of using messenger to order, but it actually worked flawlessly. Right now, it kind of feels like you're ordering pizza from a secret pizza speakeasy or something. Don't get me wrong, all my experiences ordering from Pizza Cat have been good. Each time I got my hot, delicious pizza in a timely manner. But, the process was a little confusing nonetheless. They should work on making that process more obvious. Overall, these pies are well worth the effort! read more

Very good pizza, walked in on my 1/2 hour lunchbreak ordered a pizza with pepperoni and bacon and it was done in 7 minutes piping hot and perfectly cooked. Also got a diet Pepsi with this pizza for 9 dollars. The dough was a little different it sorta had a sourdough, fermented yeast flavor that was not at all offputting, and the pizza sauce was very good it wasn't at all too sweet or to4o savory. I think the sauce tastes better than the neighboring ginos pizza that is just down the street. They don't have sit down service or a land line, but you can order online and pick the pizza up. read more
