A friend of mine recommended Hailey to me, so I gave her a call. Several times. It took about a week to actually get in touch with her. She apologized and said she was out of town, so I figured it was a one-off event. I had a cut with her which was fine - she was personable, the cut was decent although I wasn't too fond of the bangs, but my bangs can be tricky so whatevs, no biggie. The second time I tried to book with her I called on a Friday. She called me back on Wed. I'm sorry, but it's not acceptable to call back almost a WEEK after the initial call. I have a limited time frame within which I need a cut before I travel for a month. I tried another person from the salon - Marcie - on Wed. She still hasn't gotten back to me either. Granted, it's only been two days, but I'd rather be able to call up a place and get something on the books right then instead of dealing with all the waiting to hear back and leaving messages back and forth. Once I decided to officially give up on this place I called another salon and IMMEDIATELY got an appointment with no fuss. I don't know why the stylists at Pixie insist on managing their own appointment books if they're not going to keep up with actually scheduling folks. read more

Pixie is a casual and laid back salon in south park. The people who work here are extremely nice and unpretentious (nice for a salon). I've been going to Michelle for a few years and couldn't be happier with her. She's given me some great hairdos. The place itself is super cool with exposed brick and sky lights. I have very thick hair, yet Amy took the time to put them in very finely so that it looked as natural as possible. They are by far the best highlights I have ever had done, and better yet the price was very reasonable. I've been going here for years, they're the best, I wouldn't go anywhere else. They have an esthetician who does all sorts of great things: facials, waxing... she also sells amazing products for skin care. They sell all the Bumble and Bumble products. I only asked twice- and both times I got the same answer, "Amy at Pixie Salon." I made an appointment with Amy and I've been a loyal customer ever since. I've used Pixie for makeup services: Marcy is AMAZING and worked her skills to make my sister and I look flawless for my engagement party. I've also gotten a facial from Monique- the woman is a zen master who whipped my skin into perfect shape! In addition to being incredibly talented, the girls all have excellent taste. I have been going to Michele at Pixie Salon since before she opened her own salon. Besides being an incredible sylist, she is a compassionate and caring person. She bends over backwards to make sure that her clients are happy with their hair. Michele is dependable and honest. I once asked her to do something different and she gently explained to me why it wouldn't work. Then she found a simple change that did work. Michele takes regular classes to keep current with new styles, techniques, and products. Michele is also very good with curly hair. Even though they sell products at the salon, Michele never pushes or even asks. I have to remind her that I want a certain product. The shop is always immaculate and all the stylists are friendly. Best Salon EVER! I'm super picky about my hair I was never able to find anyone who could lighten my dark brown hair, or who never cut off way more then I wanted. I am so happy I have the red hair I have always wanted a great cut and its the cutest place ever. The stylist are very fun, energetic and sweet. We LOVE Pixie! Amy cuts my hair -- straight fine hair, and adds enough layers so that I have body but doesn't thin it out too much. She also handles my husband's insanely thick wavy hair perfectly. She saw a photo of what he wanted once, and has given him the same great cut consistently for months now. She's always available for a bang trim the same day I decide I can't take it anymore, and even gave me a free styling lesson when I couldn't figure out how to round-brush. I can't say enough about how wonderful Monique is, she is experienced, knowledgeable, and a really sweet person ! I first starting getting facials around the time of my wedding and she made sure my skin was beautiful for all those memorable pictures. After my wedding I continued to see Monique for some help with problematic skin after discontinuing birth control pills and Retin A. She suggested 302 skincare as a way to naturally balance my skin in addition to other natural supplements. Haley is the best! She is the only hair stylist that I've found that I like to go back to time and time again. She really listens to what you want in a hairstyle, and makes it look ten times better than you could imagine! Haley is definitely great at edgier cuts, which she does with a razor (which I loooove!) Her cuts also grow out to look even better than they did the first couple of weeks, which is a plus, and can cut your hair so that it looks great without a lot of maintenance every day :) read more

I read all of these great reviews on Yelp for Pixie Salon and decided to give it a try. It seemed like I had been getting the same hair cut forever and thought a new stylist would spice things up. The haircut I received was not horrible but it also didn't compare to the wonderful layered cuts I have had in the past. It was simple and nothing fancy or trendy about it. After I left and got a good look at it, it looked just dull as what I had walked in with. The cut doesn't even grow out well. The salon itself is nice and none of the stuck up attitudes you get at other salons. The prices are also decent. Pixie is a nice salon, saying it's the best salon is a stretch. It really all depends on what you are looking for. I won't be returning but if anyone knows of a stylist that cuts fantastic layers please let me know. read more
