When I originally came in to get a pedicure everything was great up until the actual polish was applied. I'm not sure if all the cuticles were removed properly.. so the polish just kept coming out sloppy, thick in some spots and thin in other areas, bumpy. He kept blaming it on the cuticles? Didn't I just come in to get the cuticles removed? Isn't that why I'm here? I'm confused... then started blaming it on the polish.. it was rushed .. and careless. Another woman (Lee) took over and I'm impressed with her work. She made everything better. The color came out perfect. She touched up the cuticles and she rebuffed to make the nail evan. It's the little things that matter. I would definitely give this salon another go. Customer service matters and she went above and beyond to make me happy. Very much appreciated. Interesting place. Great location and they always take walk ins. Because there is NO ONE EVER THERE. I've had some really great experiences and other weird ones. Overall, my nails tend to look good, last for a long time and I have no issues. It's always pretty quick but not so fast that it feels like rushing. Some of the staff are more talkative than others, but that's fine. What has really turned me off from them is one lady who works there. I wish I knew her name. She's never really with clients, and usually is just walking around. One time I was there she just stood over me and the gal doing my nails and silently watched for most of the appointment. It was uncomfortable. She also often takes off her shoes, sits on either one of the stools or in one of the pedicure chairs and watches something on her phone. It's just weird. The space was renovated and redecorated when it became Pixie Nails. The salon has changed ownership a year ago. The massage chairs are the best as well! My back was hurting from a long walk at the farmers market in the heat and after using the massage chair, I felt great. An added convenience, they open at 9 am on Sundays and Julie was able to do my gel manicure meticulously in a record 35 minutes! It was my first time getting dip and Julie was my nail tech. I told her I wanted a natural look and she helped me pick out a nice color. We had nice conversation and she explained dip vs gel to me. This is a cute little shop tucked on the back side of the Starbucks. Literally park in the Starbucks parking lot and you'll see the adjacent door to the Starbucks. It's right off the 15 freeway and across from McDonalds. Parking lot doesn't offer much space.. but there's places to park. Came by to treat a girlfriend and her daughter for a bday mommy-daughter nail spa date. Yelp brought me to this location and I loved the little girl spa chairs they had for the little kids. My friend's daughter at 2nd grade was tall enough to sit with her mama and get her nails done. We were the first customers that AM on a Saturday. It remained relatively empty for the time we were there (only other family of 3 joined later), but definitely a lot of customers calling in. All in all I had a pleasant experience. They have a decent selection of colors but will "highly encourage" the gel and the packaged services (because of course it costs more-- i don't blame them for trying to encourage the business). They also have a menu of services that I would recommend reviewing in advance. When you're sitting in the chair and they throw a two page menu of options.. you just opt for the cheapest one because you have no clue unless you're a nail salon expert (which we are not). So we opted for whatever the citrus lemon combo that was simply your standard hot water spa with a couple of slices of fruit thrown into the water. We managed to settle on just color (not gel) mani pedi + kids mani pedi. The kiddo in our group wanted rainbow on her fingers and they were kind enough to accommodate once they understood what it was that she was seeking. Momma picked a color that looked bad on her hands and they were kind enough to let her chose another color. I had no complaints in general. When the dark color I picked had places where the color wasn't painted thick enough, they repainted/ accommodated without complaint or attitude. I went in with some researched simple designs (dark french tip) but that was another charge that i wasn't willing to fork over so i just got one solid color toes and hands. The polish did last much longer than i had expected so all in all no complaints. They didn't cut too short over all and they did do the callous treatment on the pedicure. The chick who did my pedicure did a fantastic job. The owner took over for my manicure and although it was a bit rushed in terms of paint job.. it was.. acceptable. Again, she was kind and friendly. Nothing fancy and not something to rave over the top about but it was a "not bad" experience overall. Didn't end with any infections, paint job lasted a good amount of time without too much chipping.. and I always round up for family owned businesses.. so I'd give them a solid four and might come back. The lashes were hard and plastic feeling. within 24 hours more than half were gone and my eyes were in pain. Terry apologized and said it may be the new glue she used and removed them. TLDR: I really wanted to love this place. Manicure looked fine in the store but dried bubbly. Went back for them to fix it, and the manager was extremely rude. Ended up taking off the polish and redoing it myself the same day. Went in for a pedicure, but they convinced me to get my hands done too. Initially, the service itself was nice. The ladies were friendly and cared about the little things like making sure that the water was just the right temperature and that my back massager was always on. As soon as I left, I noticed that the polish was drying with bubbles, which has never happened to me before. I was nervous about going back, but I figured that even though they were sweet, the final product was not worth the price at all. I knew it wasn't their intention for the nails to look like that, but I did pay to have nice nails for a few weeks, and they were so friendly that I was sure that they'd handle it. I was so wrong. As soon as I went back, the manicurist looked apologetic and wanted to fix it, but the manager overrode her and insisted that she do it herself. Instead of repainting my nails, she just added a thick layer of top coat to the already overly thick paint job that didn't dry down at all in the time it took me to go all the way home, decide I wasn't satisfied, and come all the way back. She even said it was my fault for holding my hands too close to the fan. She rushed me out of the store before I could even see if my nails were fixed. The manager's "solution" made the problem even worse. This was very frustrating because they weren't even busy at the time. There was one other customer, and 5 employees so it's not like fixing my nails would've made any other customer have to wait or anything. I ended up taking off the nail polish myself (which was its own task given that it was painted on so thick), and repainting it the same day. I wanted to like this place. I really did. But customer service (or lack thereof) shows when I respectfully asked for something to be fixed that wasn't my fault. Huge waste of money, time, and stress. read more

My thumbs are different sizes and shapes. the nails look bulky. I understand that coffin may be hard but communication would be nice. I had jewels I did not want taken off and she was able to do my ombré nail fill just perfectly. She was also able to fix my shape from square to coffin and still keep my length long. They make sure your nails are perfect before you go. I am also very particular about the style of my nails; Hand painted designs with jewels and decorations, but classy and elegant, while being appropriate for whatever events I am attending, all rapped into one design. There are 2 very talented artists at this salon that are skilled enough to complete this task. The manager, Terry (not sure I spelled it right), and the artist that did my nails, Tao (again, not sure if I spelled it right). Keep in mind, quality does cost more than a quicky, but when it's something I'm going to have on my hands for 4 weeks, I dont want to feel like I have to fix something everytime I look at my nails, and I'm sure you dont either. read more

I used to love this place. Every time I came here I felt satisfied, and was so happy that I found my new nail place. And they weren't outrageously priced! Cut to today. I paid $50. For this (see included photos). I asked for a narrow coffin shape. I got a mismatched set of coffin/square nails. And it looks like I need a fill. I had to ask my nail tech to fill in my nails more because it was uneven and not even close to my cuticle. I gave up on asking her to fix them after several times and just cut my losses as there was no fixing them anymore without completely ruining the shape and turning them into almond or round shaped nails. I should've known they were going to be a disaster when she trimmed the tip on the thumb waaayyyy too short before she even began! She had to soak it off with acetone, glue on a new tip, and try again. I HAD TO ASK HER to do it because she didn't even notice! Not to mention that a pedicure and a full set of nails took 2 hours and 45 minutes. The woman who did my full set even started during my pedicure. Speaking of my pedicure, I chose a more expensive one so my lady could make more money and because I wanted the extra few minutes of massage time. Big mistake. All she did was rub my legs. Like, caressed them. She did a few mindless squeezes on my feet, and that was it. Definitely not worth the extra $13. Then when I was checking out, the owner asked me if I wanted to tip cash, I said I'd do it on the credit card receipt, then she told me there was no line for tipping. So she asked for cash. I gave her $6 (they're lucky I even tipped for such awful quality work.. I'm a VERY good tipper usually) and she looked at me like "are you effing serious?". She even asked me several times if I wanted to use the ATM to get more or run my card again for more tip money. Umm. No thanks. I'm just giving two stars because my first three experiences were pleasant. I'm bummed out that I have to look for another nail place. The only time I'll ever come back is if Sam has an open appointment. But then again, I'll probably just go to his shop up north instead. read more

The salon definitely lives up to its name! I'm from Nor Cal and I don't see beached themed nail salons often, or at all. Not sure if it's a trend here, but I love it! The staff is so nice, friendly, professional and accommodating. They offered me a drink as soon as I walked in (on the house) and of course I opted for a mimosa. The 2 nail techs/manicurists who did my nails were soooooo good, too bad I forgot to ask for their names. My polish was clean and flawless! I am not really the type who usually gives low ratings on Yelp, but this is the incident I just couldn't let go as it made me really upset. Another TLDR from another disappointed customer: My nail technician wasn't available on the day I scheduled an appointment, so I had to find a new salon before Valentine's Day. I called them and asked them if they are still available to accept late clients at 6:30PM for a gel manicure and eyebrow waxing and they said: "yes, no problem". So, I was really happy going in the salon knowing that this place accepted my late appointment. They started removing my gel manicure and once the owner/manager Terry was done with the other client, she started doing my brows. Here's the thing, I've had my eyebrows done multiple times and never have I ever experienced eyebrows waxing here the technician puts on the wax on both the upper and lower part of the eyebrows and have it removed AT THE SAME TIME WITH ONE CLOTH!! It's obvious that she's trying to save time and rushing things. She showed me the results and I kind of just gave like a smile, but I wasn't happy with the results. (see image attached) Now I must grow my eyebrows back on how it was before she touched it. I went back to having my nails done by Lily who was, by the way, really doing a great job. After a few mins, Terry started talking to Lily in another language. Then Lily exchanged seats with Terry. Terry said as she sat down "I'll be doing the manicure so it's faster because I want to go home" and smiled.. I understand if you are the fastest nail technician in the salon, but I was expecting it to be of quality since I am paying the full price of the manicure service. To my disappointment, my nails are poorly done (nail design wasn't accurate, even changed it because she didn't want it to be the same as the one, I showed her, lots of bubbles in the polish and just overall sloppy). After Terry finished the terrible manicure, Lily did my massage and was continuously apologizing for the rude behavior her manager/owner acted. She was saying "I am so sorry, the manager really wanted to go home already, and she didn't want me to lock the salon by myself". As I head out to the cashier, Terry said that my total was $67 for the eyebrows and manicure (which I think is overpriced) and gave her $77 to give Lily the rest for her tip. And then she looked at me and asked "that's it? Where's the tip for the eyebrows?" And I was shocked!! I wasn't happy with her service that's why I didn't give any tips. But she couldn't let me go and was still asking even when I put my phone away (paid through Venmo). So, I gave her $8 for the eyebrow EVEN THOUGH I WASN'T COMFORTABLE GIVING HER ONE. At that moment I just wanted to be out of that miserable place. The place was cute, and the staff was nice but the manager/owner ruined the experience for me so I will never be going back to that place. If she badly wanted to go home on time, they should not have accepted my appointment in the first place. I get that it's still earning money at the last minute, but at least do a good job and not waste my money. I read the other Yelper's reviews and most people complained about the owner/manager. If I could give negative stars, I would. I don't want to be dramatic, but I want to warn people who are trying this place out to look out for these red flags. I keep coming back beachside the technicians take care of me so well. The off me a drinks, they are patient with me and they don't upsell on services. I am conservative in nature, and they are so patient when I take my time choosing a neutral nail color. What I like to do is to make a reservation a few days in advance to be sure I get the time allotted and not wait (as it can get busy and with COVID, the amount of technicians is based on their expected costumers). I started out going to Terry for my nails in Spring 2016 and I was so proud of her and happy when she opened her own nail shop! It's a little further for me to get there, but believe me, it's worth it. Terry is truly a master of her trade. She knows a lot about her craft and she teaches her staff so they are knowledgeable. The products she uses are top notch and worth every penny. Her prices are fair and affordable. I really wanted to like this place the 2nd time around. Nope, it's still the same, and it came down to the manager/owner both times. I came here for the first time just over a month ago with my 2 daughters, ages 8 and 10. The butterfly kid chairs were super cute, and the technicians did a good job. I had my own pedicure, too, and the gentleman was nice and did a good job as well. No one offered us a drink, so maybe it was still due to Covid...? Before we got there, I took a snapshot of the menu with pricing off of Yelp, because that's how I found the place. When we were finished, and I was ready to pay, the manager appeared out of nowhere. She hadn't been inside at all. She's the one that mans the cashier/payments, apparently. She told me the total, which was off, of course. I showed her the screenshot of the kids mani/pedi from the menu I found from their website via Yelp, and she said that she doesn't go through Yelp. Excuse me? She said the pricing was inaccurate, and I'm supposed to go through Google. I explained that it was our first time, so I didn't know to go through Google. She repeatedly told me to not go through Yelp, and she's "told Yelp" to remove her business from there "multiple times" (yet, it's still here). She said that it was fine, it's just a couple of dollars, etc...I told her that wasn't the point. She continued to tell me to go through Google, not Yelp, yada yada yada...This exchange sure left a bad taste in my mouth. My little sister was visiting from out of town last week and wanted all of us to go to a nail salon with little chairs, so her 3-year-old daughter could have her first mani/pedi. Reluctantly, I told her about this place, because I didn't know of another salon with kid chairs. The manager/owner helped my sister first. While she was doing her nails, she offered my sister a diet Coke. As soon as she was done with my sister's nails, she quickly gathered her stuff and left the building. I was getting my pedicure and asked, "Where is she going?" The techs said, "Oh, she has to pick her son up." No diet Coke for my sis. The techs, meanwhile, were working on me and my 2 daughters. My 3-year-old niece was left to sit there until we were basically all done. She was last. That's a long time to be left sitting there, and her feet were placed into the water (as if she was about to get her nails done). My 8-year-old saw a fancy design my 10-year-old was getting on her nails and asked if she could have a different nail design for herself. The tech said, "No, we just do flowers." A few minutes later, when one of the techs was getting ready to work on my niece, my sister asked if she could have a diet Coke. He brought 2 glasses out and gave one to her and one to my 10-year-old. When my 8-year-old asked for a Coke, the tech responded, "We just have water" and proceeded to not get her any water. Finally, after everyone was finished, my sister went to pay. Oh, the manager's back. How about that!? Time to pay up!! The kid's fun mini mani/pedi is for "10 years or under", and my daughters are 8 and 10. The manager/owner argued with my sister about my daughter being 10, and how the special/price didn't apply to her. What?! Lady, do you even know what you're saying? She's 10!! She continuously argued with my sister about it. My sister had just flown in from out of town 2 hours earlier and was too tired to argue with her. She just paid to get the hell out of there. I was so disappointed and appalled by this woman. We'll definitely not be back. read more

My new nail salon! LOVE Terri, she's quick and efficient. Does a beautiful job and I'm always out of there in 45mins tops. She does an amazing job with dip manicure lasts for about 3-4 weeks without breaking and they have a large selection of comorsstill haven't found a favorite there for pedicure so I'll have an update for that once I do! The salon itself is beautiful and clean, they offer drinks and quick service. If you like being pampered you should definitely check out this spot!
