I honestly don't understand such high reviews. Every time I've gone in here there are hardly any donuts, its dirty, and cash only. Not many people carry cash and with the accessibility of other payments options (square cash, etc.) I'm not sure why its cash only. We walked in, picked out donuts, and were told to.come back to pay the next day or to go get cash. We went to Vons and got donuts. Praying this business can turn it around because it's in such a good location, but if they can't its really on them then. As of now, I will not be back. read more

Pixie Donuts are the best donuts my family has ever had. We LOVE the glazed twist and the glazed round. They are light and soft and sometimes nice and warm. The cake donuts and chocolate donuts are also delicious. We live nearby and have been going there since my girls went to Chaparral Elementary and we still go now that they have graduated college. On happenstance, I found myself spending a morning here sampling sugary balls of goodness and learning about the donut biz. Let me tell you- Pixie knows what they are doing when making those amazing little glazed donut holes and what to do to keep their shop open for over 22 years. On a Sunday around 10, they were pretty much cleared out except for about 2 more racks of goodies. They open at 4am, and the rush seems to be between 8-9:30ish. The family that runs the joint couldn't be nicer- and their regular customers know it. I had the pleasure of kicking back and observing the excellent customer service, which included lots of smile, a few jokes, and multiple "automatic orders"- where person after person would walk in and only have to give a "good morning" or "the usual" to be acknowledged and handed their usual. This place is the absolute best donut store in the world. I almost had a heart attack the last time I was in Claremont. No, not because of the donuts. I went to the Vons Shopping center on Mills/Baseline only to see that Subway had replaced my beloved Pixie Donuts. The years of memories flashed through my head. The times we ditched the Foothill Transit bus and would walk to El Roble, the lady behind the counter never cared and served up the delicious donuts with a smile even if we were delinquents. Before I started to shed a tear, I realized that Pixie Donuts had just moved shop across the street next to Round Table. All is still right in the world. A world without Pixie Donuts is a world I don't want to live in. Now if I could just get Round Table to bring back Pizzatatoes, I'll be able to re-live 1991 all over again! read more

Don't tell my parents but when we were in the 6th grade my friends and I would sneak out and wander the streets of Claremont all night to light fireworks in people's mailboxes. And after a long night of suburban tomfoolery, we would end up in front of Pixie donuts at 4 in the morning, taking in the scent of gloriously baking donuts. My old friends will concur, that intoxicating donut fragrance descended on the Vons parking lot like an invisible crack cocaine cloud. 18 or so odd years later, Pixie still holds its place as a great donut shop. Unlike most other donut stores that you find in LA, you know - greasy, dingy, downright disgusting - Pixie has always held itself to higher standards. This place is outstanding and is the only place that i get donuts when i'm in town. I have biked by several times and stopped by to get something each time. They even fill up my water bottles for me. Ham and cheese croissant is everything you can ask for. The owners are super nice people and the place is entirely family run. Donuts. So good, yet so bad. So, Yelp isn't really a big thing here in the I.E. (that is, Inland Empire). It's all good though. Just means that there's a greater likelihood that I'll be the "first to review" some of these places. Of course, I'll likely be the last to review. I wanted to look for a place to grab donuts on the way to my Dad's Office, and Yelp sent me to Pixie. Donuts are breakfast food, and breakfast is typically consumed at the beginning of the day, leaving the person behind the donut counter in a position of power in regard to how my day will go. Bad attitude? Bad day. Good attitude? Good day. It's as simple as that. Pixie was great. Definitely a good way to start the day. In fact, it was the way that I started two of my days this week (so far). Almost made me forget that I had work to do --- during Spring Break. At around 7:00, the donuts are still warm and crisp. I don't generally crave donuts but these are really good. I liked donuts when I was a kid but now most of them leave a weird greasy film in my mouth and it just feels gross. This does NOT happen at Pixie! In fact, I bought a dozen to share and had a couple the next day and they were still good! No "day old" stale taste. My only gripe would be that they never seem to have apple fritters first thing in the morning. Usually I go here around 6:30am and never once at that time do they have the apple fritters ready. The lady behind the counter is funny too because every time I ask she looks towards the kitchen and says, "not yet. Maybe in 20 minutes" Well, I am too impatient so I just get their other yummy varieties. I think my current favorite is the chocolate kruller but every donut we've had from here has been really good. OK, one more little gripe. The coffee is weak. I buy it here if I just want something right then and don't want to stand in line at Starbucks and/or I'm out of coffee at home but it is inexpensive so I can't complain too much. I lived across the street from Pixie Donuts and I am serious when I say that no donut compares to Pixie donuts! I don't know what they put in these donuts (I think they are made with maple because are less sweet and more "pastry" like than anything) but they are God's gift to mankind if you are in the mood for a donut! When I am jonesing for a donut...nothing beats Pixie...you have to get their chocolate twist with a small chocolate milk (nostalgia!)...it is SO good! Mmmm...Pixie...I wish you weren't so far away! The donuts here are just how you imagine donuts should be: fresh, soft and delicious. I bought a dozen donuts and kept the leftovers out overnight on accident. I've been going to this place since was like... 12. Almost 20 years later, I'm still going to this place with the same lady behind the counter. She's a sweet lady who always keeps fresh donuts. If you ever see the shop around 2pm, you can see the leftovers, and there isn't much left. This place is text book of what mom and pop shops should be and feel like. Simple, humble, personal service with superior products time after time. No chain establishment can compete with a place like this. The only drawback is that she closes at around 3pm. I love Pixie Donuts' donuts! I have enjoyed their donuts since I could drive ... possibly before that. There are some donuts from other places that leave a weird film in your mouth after you eat it. Not at Pixie Donuts! They are delicious and though I have not been back there as often in recent years, the last time I was there, they had expanded their donut repertoire since my high school days of stopping by every morning for a donut and a mocha. Yelpers are correct once again. This place will not dissappoint. I started with the ham and cheese croissant that had just come out of the oven. What a delight. The exterior was light, soft, and flaky with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The ham and cheese only compliments the flavor of the bread. I then dove into a maple bar, a bit sweet, if you eat it alone, but scrumptious when eaten with milk or coffee. I then ate a glazed donut. This was stand-alone good. We were visiting family from out of town and I was looking for affordable breakfast options. These donuts are very good, fresh and very tasty. We came in a little late in the morning but there were still a few donuts left to choose from, but you could tell this is a popular donut shop.
