When the employee took my order, she repeated it back correctly as two sesame bagels and two everything bagels. However, when I received my order and checked it before leaving, I discovered that I had only been given two sesame bagels and one everything bagel. When I politely asked about the missing everything bagel, the employee insisted that I had only ordered one. She also refused to provide her name when asked. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, I was required to pay again for the missing bagel. The dismissive attitude and lack of customer service were disappointing. As a former New Yorker, I was equally disappointed with the bagels themselves. The restaurant promotes a New York-style bagel experience, but these bagels did not resemble the authentic New York bagels I grew up eating. They lacked the characteristic chew, texture, and flavor that make New York bagels famous. The bagels were also barely toasted. Rather than having a crisp exterior and warm center, they seemed only lightly warmed. A properly toasted bagel should have some crunch and color, and these simply did not. Mistakes happen in every restaurant, but how those mistakes are handled is what matters. My recommendation to future customers is to carefully inspect their order before leaving the counter. Unfortunately, based on this experience, both the customer service and product quality fell well below expectations.

There's a small private customer lot that holds about 10 vehicles; there's a sign that says, "1 Hour Customer Parking Only." There's also a nearby public lot and street parking. This location is very close to the University of La Verne. Staff is courteous and helpful. Staff quickly helped me, and Staff answered all my questions. On ambiance, Miss Donuts & Bagels (La Verne) is worn-down and ugly. Fortunately, it didn't feel dirty. The location was not dust, and it felt well-ventilated with the fan. This location also felt cramped with its eight tiny tables. This place does not feel comfortable enough to linger. Overall, Miss Donuts & Bagels (La Verne) is genuinely surprising because their donuts are fairly tasty. The dough tasted fresh, and its fluffy texture is addicting. It's not too sweet either. I prefer green leafy lettuce over iceberg but you know what? On a hot day like today, it was good enough--watery and crispy and just right with the rest of the BLT, mustard no mayo. Mmmmm. I took pictures of the one wall because I think it's great that a men's club regularly meets here. Men need best friends and confidantes as much as women do, but often seem to have a harder time initiating or keeping in touch with them. My go-to order is the cinnamon sugar bagel with strawberry cream cheese..... it's seriously SO good! I'm a city carrier for the City of Walnut, so whenever I'm working nearby and get the chance, I always try to stop by and grab my fix. At this point, they already know my order when I walk in.... they just have to ask me how many! That's how you know you've become a regular. This place became especially special to me while I was pregnant because their cinnamon sugar bagel was one of my biggest and honestly, one of my only cravings. I would try to make it over as often as I could just to satisfy that craving. I really appreciate supporting a local family-owned business, and you can tell there's a lot of heart behind this shop. Unfortunately, because of the foot traffic and competition in the area, they aren't open all day or every day, so you definitely have to catch them when they're open! It's a small humble shop that's family owned and operated. You will always be greeted by them whenever you come in and if you go enough, you may even get to know them better and have a conversation. Their doughnuts and pastries are made fresh daily and some of them even sell out within the beginning of the day. My coworker always order a heated cheese danish but sometimes they run out. They're just that good! I, myself, am not so much of a doughnut guy but I love their cake doughnuts with sprinkles and old fashioned doughnuts. They even have made to order breakfast sandwiches and you can choose either a croissant or a bagel to use. They also have coffee available and other drinks like milk or juice to pair with your breakfast. Additionally, they have other sweet treats such as ice cream, smoothies, and teas you can add boba to! My go to order when I clock in for a long day is a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich. The sandwich comes out to $5.25, which I think is a great price. Sometimes I like to add jalapeños depending on how I feel for an extra 25 cents. Either way, this could be the best breakfast sandwich I've had. Shoutout to Tiger, the owner's son, for always making it fire! I also add on a vanilla iced coffee for $3.50. Keep in mind that they do charge 75 cents for debit/credit card use so in total my go to breakfast comes out to $9.50 or $9.75 depending if I get the jalapeños. For this day and age, any meal you can get for under $10 is a great deal. I would definitely consider myself a regular!
