Unprofessional. Unaccommodating. Difficult to work with. Difficult to reach. Specific requests were not met or even considered. I bought a maternity & newborn package for my grand daughter as a gift weeks before we expected photos to be taken. Big mistake. She were not a priority at all, and I can only believe it was because Miranda was paid for the work in advanced . I initially wanted to go with Iga Logan, whom we should have. But Miranda came highly recommended from a friend, was slightly less expensive, and the photos she advertised were gorgeous. We have learned you get what you pay for. Scheduling both shoots was almost impossible. She used every excuse in the world . Weeks passed before the maternity shoot could be scheduled & she cancelled twice after that. The pictures ended up being taken a week before labor, which was not what was desired. No one wants to wait that long for maternity photos. You are your biggest, most uncomfortable and it's a huge risk considering you can go into labor at any time and completely miss the opportunity to capture your pregnancy. The shoot, which included a sibling, was done in less than 30 minutes and very rushed. Prior to choosing a photographer I called about ten, the majority said maternity shoot was an hour, especially if children are involved and included wardrobe changes. All said newborn photos MUST be taken within ten days of birth for optimal cooperation, results, & capturing the newborn look. Babies start changing rapidly after that, & that earlier than ten days is even better . I was also told newborn photography takes several hours, sometimes up to 3, no less than 2 and that is why is it so expensive. Miranda's site says 2-3 hrs. When it came time for newborn shoot, again scheduling with Miranda was a nightmare. A full time photographer, with no other employment. I would have never expected to have such a difficult time. The baby was 4 weeks old when the pictures were finally taken, the shoot lasted less than 1.5 hours. It took weeks of trying to contact & periods where Miranda wouldn't respond for days. In the meantime she was constantly posting pictures and advertisements on Facebook offering more shoots and trying gain more clients. This is frustrating to someone like me who is a client that has paid in advance. Spend your time focusing on that before trying to take on more, you obviously can't handle it. For both shoots specific poses were requested. Some of which she declined. Others were taken but she wouldn't even show them to the client, let alone give her the edited image, or even unedited image. If I pay $600 and I have 3 shots that are important to me and you cannot even show them to me, you obviously don't care about your client's satisfaction. You are more concerned with your own satisfaction and how you may appear to the public. Maybe you should have tried harder to take that shot up to your standards so that you could please your client and yourself. If you did not think you could meet the requests given prior to the shoots you should have refunded & advised we find someone more adequate for the job. The newborn photos took 6 weeks to be received after being told it would be 2. Again, she ignored text messages for days and it took repeated attempts of contact to get anywhere with her. The final result: most of the maternity photos were good, the few that there were. There were 2 maternity shots that I'd say were exceptional, artistic, & comparable to what she advertised that compelled us to choose her. As for the newborn shoot, most were less than mediocre. There was one artistic, the rest barely even looked professional. When you spend $600 on Photography and are only given 10-15 shots per session, even though 300 are taken. All ten better be stunning. The client is severely displeased, as am I. I feel terrible knowing I gave this as a gift & she is so unhappy. The worst part of it all is these are moments you can never re-do. If you choose this photographer I would not pay her until the day of your shoot, or maybe even wait until you see finished product. Also, I would get in writing what you want, expect, and that you will be refunded if she does not meet your criteria. Photography is a large investment & once the time has passed there is no going back. Choose wisely. read more
