Transparency and accountability were noticeably lacking. While Bob Berenbach and Jerry Rosenthal may not have been directly involved, they absolutely need to be aware of how situations like this are being handled, as it reflects poorly on the organization's leadership and mission. Based on my experience, I would urge caution when working with this shelter.

We absolutely loved the staff there...every member has such a passion for each and every one of the animals they bring in there. They do their best to take their time to find out all of the dogs and cats personality's and characteristics which helps the pet and their new owner adjust to their new lives together. We wound up adopting an amazing 6 year old Pitbull Terrier named Ray-Ray. The paperwork for the adoption was not overwhelming and the adoption fee was $250- a small price to pay for unconditional love! The day we bright him home- they provided us a collar, leash and a bag filled with food treats and toys to help us get started! They also provided us with the necessary paperwork and tags for proof of check-ups and shots. For those who need this information- surrender fees are $65..which is also a small price to pay if for whatever reason you need to surrender your pet- and at least if you bring them here, they will not be killed and the staff will do their best to find them their new forever home.

After we moved to NYC, things started escalating and got even worse. He would bark and lunge for dogs as they passed on the street, sometimes working himself into such a frenzy that he'd bite me if I got in the way. Worried that I'd eventually have to give him up if he kept behaving this way, I started thinking about giving training another try. I'm so happy I did! Samantha's training method has helped recondition Riley and teach him that his old behavior is wrong while also praising him when he behaves well.
