Boston Cream Pie to-go
Dennis L.

Had both dinner and breakfast here. For dinner I had the chicken fried chicken. It was super good. I ate the whole thing! Was pretty full, but saw they had Boston Cream Pie for dessert, so I had to have it to go. For breakfast I had biscuits and gravy. Very filling and good. Both times service was excellent Thank you.

Torched chicken fried chicken

I'm giving 2 stars only because our server was excellent. I can't say the same for the food. We'll start with the chicken fried chicken. Just by looking at the plate you could tell it was torched...that bird took a bath in the deep fryer way too long and was dry as expected. Gravy to the rescue, right? If you like taste-free canned gravy then you're in luck! The gravy had zero taste, no salt, no pepper...it was just there. Then there was the mashed potatoes, can't go wrong there. One would think, but the potatoes were either mixed too long or put through the food processor because the consistency was gluey, not fluffy. The veggies were the best part of the dish. Thankfully there is an A&W next door and their chicken was quite delightful. Let's move on to the Bello Burger. Portobello mushroom with balsamic vinegar topped with caramelized onions, feta, lettuce, tomato, on a brioche. The mushroom was so heavily marinated with the balsamic that it resulted in the mushroom being way too sweet. Top it with onions that were not only not caramelized but sweet, it made the sandwich inedible. If there was the tangy feta cheese on it like the description said, there may have been a slight relief from the sweetness, but no feta to be found. The fries (frozen not fresh) was the best part of that dish. The restaurant seating was uncomfortable and the booths were showing their age. My booth seat was leaning forward so I was leaning into the table the whole time; perfect if you just want to shovel food into your mouth. The food was slow to come out of the kitchen for the size of the restaurant but I'll give them a pass card on that with the lack of being able to hire people these days. I was going to try their "fine dining" restaurant but out of fear that they share the same kitchen, I had to pass. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience.

I had a nice breakfast here with some friends. They had biscuits and gravy, which they enjoyed. The serving was huge. I got the Pittman Breakfast. Two eggs over medium, hash browns and bacon. The eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly to order. The bacon was a little more done than I had asked for. The service was good. It took some effort to get the check so we could pay and leave. I would recommend this places for breakfast. A friend got the breakfast burrito and it was massive!! You might try that if you're hungry.

Quant little restaurant inside Mizpah hotel. Seated for dinner promptly. Service was quick and efficient. Food was served in about 10 minutes. Very good new York strip steak and fish and chips were very good.

We stopped in for dinner. It was about 8:30 PM, so we sat at the bar as restaurant seating was closed. I tried a local beer on tap & it was pretty good. I ordered the chicken fried steak with a side salad & my wife got the wedge salad. The salad lacked the balsamic sauce commonly on wedge salads, but she said it was okay other than that but not a true Wedge. Mine was, hands down, amazing! Although my salad never came. But Jennifer, the bar tender, was as busy as a one-legged guy in a butt kicking contest as it was Friday night. The atmosphere was great! Saw the famous red dress girl Room 504 & the basement gost tour before we left. Would recommend!

Love this place! Had the Hotel Mizpah on our "Ghost Adventures" road trip, and noticed the cafe inside. Us gals gave it a try, and I'm glad we did! The lady working there was super nice and genuinely happy. Their menu had a nice selection to choose from, and from what we ordered, all 3 of us were extremely smitten with what we chose. The food was hot, tasted like home cooking, and she kept our refills full. Unfort, when we sat down, they were closing in 1/2 hour, so we kinda ate fast, but was still a good experience none the less. Next time we are in Tonopah, we will definitely come here again!!!

Food was above average - good actually. The reason I dont go 4 or even 5 stars is because we went 3 times and all 3 times we were left standing at the reception podium for a very long time. Really understaffed. If you come in, make a lot of noise or tell for someone. It is a little awkward, but otherwise you can waste a lot of time waiting. We had breakfast and dinner here. The food was really very good so it is worth the trouble in this small town. The hotel is AWESOME and worth seeing the inside, even if you dont stay.

The Pittman Cafe is in the Mizpah Hotel. Serves breakfast through dinner. They offer Cline and Jacuzzi wine, as a side note. Our pancakes were slightly over cooked and water was late to the table. There was no fruit alternative on breakfast and the $6 for 3 slices of bacon seemed excessive to me and wasn't distinguishable from the Applewood Bacon advertised. Finally no blueberry syrup, I supposed out of stock. These are the primary reasons for the 3 stars. I might try somewhere else in town next time.

A prime example of the ideal place to grab food during a road trip. It's right off the main highway with ample parking. I got the western burger which was made with grass fed ground beef, a super crispy sourdough bun and very well cooked fries. The fries got stolen quickly by everyone at the table as they were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. There is a wonderful history to the restaurant and the Mizpah hotel which is the main attraction here. Why come here? Quality food, great service, reasonable prices and it's all convenient to the traveller who values good food and history.

Good. But no GF food. Not that hard to make GF food. In my opinion, best in Tonopah, NV.
