My husband and I just purchased a vehicle at Pitre Kia. This review is not specifically about the dealership, but for one of its salesmen, Bo. He gets 10 stars! My husband has mobility issues and rather than taking us to see vehicles we were interested in, he brought the vehicles to us. As an older female, I tend to rate on the "is this how you would treat your grandmother" scale. Bo aced it! Never rushed it, answered every question, and after the purchase helped us set up all the wireless features and (once again) explained the features. As always, the final documents signing took forever, and since I had called ahead to say we were coming in I thought that could have been more streamlined. That's the only reason for the 4 stars. Seems like the common factor of many bad reviews seems to be the Sales Manager Richard Lima who has a way of ruining a transaction for his team, and his lack of respect for the customers that walk into his dealership. The owner needs to get a new sales manager, and let that man kick rocks. I went in to trade in a gas guzzler that I paid off, and had the documents to prove it, yet they couldnt make the deal work and then had me a woman walk home-imagine a woman made to walk home because I was told to go in to sign more documents after 14 days of the initial sale. The temp that day at noon was already 98 and mind you i already signed all the paperwork the day I left which only took them an hour to get their "approval". I have never in my life been made to feel so small by a fat and ruthless man who should know how to treat customers. After all the hard work of the sales people-who mind you all fleed when this all went down, he ruined the whole deal instead of working his butt off to try and make it work. My 2024 Kia had the computer quit working in early 2025. When I called for an appointment to Pitre Kia where I bought my car, they told me I could get an appointment the next week unless I wanted to come in without an appointment and wait until they could get it done. FYI: my speedometer, gas tank indicator, all cameras did not work; furthermore, my car kept telling me I was heading the wrong way down the road. I made an appointment at Fiesta Kia (the other dealership in Albuquerque) for the same week. They told me when I called that the problem was due to an update that did not complete correctly. Pitre acted like they didn't know what was wrong Pitre should have told me what the problem was and they should have gotten me in the same week. I thought it was illegal not to repair a callback item, but Pitre Kia refused to repair the defective driver's seat belt for free. They used the excuse that someone had bumped my car in a parking lot from behind and that voided the call back, even though the bump was three years prior. Then, one month later, when the passenger airbag light went on, they refused to repair it for free. This is a CALLBACK! Corruption sometimes is deeply ingrained in the very wealthy, even if it's a legal matter involving safety devices. My wife and I bought a new Kia Sorrento from Pitre Kia. It was a super experience from beginning to end. Our salesperson treated us with respect and care, hearing and responding to our wishes. There was not a bunch of haggling back and forth but our salesperson, Amber, was mindful of our requests and responded quickly. If there's one review worth reading for people interested in buying a new car from Pitre Kia-- it's this one. Car shoppers beware that Pitre Kia will try to sell you their "Dealer Add Ons" for $3,000 over MSRP. The most expensive add on ($1,699) is their "Pitre Protection Package" this includes a 7 year paint warranty, Xzilon interior/exterior protection (read reviews on this online and you won't believe the reviews on this product line), and RAIN-X windshield repellent that you can buy for $4.59 at ANY Walmart. This "add on" is criminal and their saying that it "adds value" is a lie. One good rain after your new purchase and you'll watch $1,700 literally drip off your new vehicle. The only positive I can offer about the sales department is Nikko Sanchez the sales rep that was hard working, skilled in customer service and knew how to make us feel heard. Sales Manager, Richard Lima, knows only how to ruin a deal for a hardworking Sales rep, how to treat customers with disrespect, and lose business for this dealership. I have never in my life been treated/spoken to the way this man was to myself and my wife. He blatantly lied to my wife about additional add ons/charges. This Sales Manager needs to learn how to be respectful to customers, learn how to answer simple questions like "What are these add ons?", and most importantly lead as a manager for these Sales Reps. I'm reviewing the service department. The sales department has always been accommodating. My recent regular service (recommended by Kia to be 7,500 miles) was due and my tires were rotated. The car was serviced and was returned to me with insufficient air pressure in all four tires (28 lb instead of 32-35) which wasn't obvious until the tire pressure monitor lit up a day or two later. I called and asked if it was simply tire pressure and I was told it was a tire valve sensor issue most likely. OK.... I took it in, discussed the issue, and the service rep. had someone inflate the tires without checking the sensors. My time was used improperly. As for the regular service, a 5,000-mile service call was stuck to my windshield. Sorry, this sounds like "churning" the customer for more frequent service calls. There were other issues, but let's say, this may be my last trip to Pitre. read more

Had our old SUV break down beyond repair. So the wife and I went in solemnly to try and lock our wounds and find a reliable replacement. The salesman Elijah was excellent. He was helpful and extremely knowledgeable on the car because if you are like me and grew up on a ranch driving beaters all the bells and whistles, and new controls that kia has on their cars can be a little intimidating. But Elijah ran through all of them with us even though it was after closing time he didn't rush or act like he wanted to leave. The other reviews are correct about the dealership trying to sell useless add ons, but all you have to do is tell them you don't want any and the finance guy we worked with didn't push us to get them after that. I will update this review once I see how well the Telluride we bought holds up, but our experience with Elijah was great. As far as value I have always been a dodge guy but a brand new Kia cost the same as a 2 year old Durango with a lower trim so I decided to give it a shot. Test drive and communication with them was actually very nice. They answered all my questions and were attentive. It all fell apart when it came to agreeing on price. The reviews about the Pitre protect and other "optional" but not optional add on are true. They flat out refused to remove the car wash fee, and the lost key fob protection (which you don't need with Kia connect) and tried to hide the fees under a rebate that KIA corporate gives anyway. The car was already above MSRP which INCLUDES margin for the dealer anyway. The rest of the stuff is just a very open money grab with no value to the customer whatsoever. I regret buying a Kia the service center also tries to f___ you over and the warranty they claim is so great covers nothing. My can has 18000 miles and already needs a new AC, bought new tires and needed an alignment that should have been covered under my warranty and I was charged for. I have had several other cars and never had the issues my Kia is having. I was told the AC thermostat needed to be replaced and it was covered under warranty. Then it turned into my AC converter was hit by a rock or something and it was not covered under warranty and I would be paying $1800 out-of-pocket to fix my AC it all sounds like bullshit to me but with 100" weather I need and AC so I will be fixing it. read more

If you are considering buying from Pitre Kia, read this review first. Pitre Kia was advertising a Black Friday sale coupled with 120% fair market trade-in value for all qualified vehicles. I called ahead to prequalify our "Trade-In" and Pitre's rep. said our vehicle IS certainly something they look for in trade-ins. Thus, my wife an I went to the dealership the following week. We walked the lot with Isaah (sales rep.) and decided we would look further into a particular model. Once the dealership was provided all relevant information (personal and trade-in) they came back with a rough estimate (Note: We did not run an official credit report/application. We verbally provided our KNOWN credit rating so they could provide a more accurate estimate.) The sales Manager was Richard Lima. This is where the frustration begins. First: The estimate included the full sales MSRP along with Pitre's add-ons, which totaled $2,997.00. A cost that is NOT anywhere near reasonable for the offering, nor is it anything i wanted/requested. But Pitre would get an additional $2997.00 regardless. There wasnt a Black Friday sale. Second: As i reviewed the estimate, the trade-in value they offered stood out; $15,500.00. My vehicle is, at minimum, in Good/Excellent condition. Thus, I went onto Kelly Blue Book (KBB), entered my vehicle's VIN#, completed a thorough review (all while sitting at the sales table with Isaah) of my trade-in to get the most accurate trade-in value. My vehicle's FAIR market value came back at $17,800-$20,500.00. Pitre's initial offer of $15,500.00 was $2,300.00 below KBB's lower range valuation. I mentioned this to the sales manager Richard Lima. The trade-in value should be in the range of 21,500-24,600.00 based Pitre's advertising capaigne of 120% fair market value. He followed up with a second offer for my trade-in at $19,500.00. He said he couldnt do any better than that. Again, i said this doesnt fullfill the 120% of KBB fair market value as advertised by your company. Apparently there isn't a 120% fair market trade-in value sales event at Pitre Kia as is being advertised. Third: As Richard and I were discussing the discrepency in trade-in value, he mentioned today was the last day for Sandia FCU's promotional loan rate event and that Pitre's used car evaluator was not in today, so i should bring my car back the following day to see if i could get a better value. How is it that there is only ONE qualified used car evaluator at a dealership like Pitre Kia. I was shocked with my experience at Pitre today. When I got home, I researched Pitre Kia. I came across nearly identical experiences/reviews. FACT: Pitre kia lost a sale/customer today...This is a sad result for Isaah, who had only just started this position three weeks prior. Very disappointed in this service department! I purchased my Sorrento from Cottonwood Kia and had been going to them for all my service needs with never a problem. Several years ago Pitre purchased this dealership and we continued to go there. Our service advisor was always great and helpful but he eventually left there. The problems started last year when I had my car in for regular maintenance/oil change and I needed new windshield wipers so I mentioned that. In the past they had replaced them and charged only for the wipers but this time they charged $72.00, this did include $26.00 for the blades. So $50.00 for 5 minutes to put them on! i called and asked why we were charged when they hadn't charged before and he said he'd call back...never did! The next time I went in was September for an oil change it was $124.00 ???? All of our previous oil changes with them had been in the $25.00 to $35.00 range which depended on any coupons they might have had. Then my husband noticed that they had put in synthetic oil which they never had before. We had never requested which type of oil they used! Well a few weeks ago my car had a vibration/shaking so we took it to Discount Tires and had all 4 tires balanced to see if that would help. It did not so we made an appointment with Pitre and had to wait almost a month to get in. When we arrived our service advisor told us we would need t9 leave it there for several days! I objected stating we had an appointment for that day and would not leave it so he said they'd look at it that day and if possibly have it done the next day. We agreed to that. I got a call that afternoon saying they would balanced all 4 tires and if that didn't work they would do an alignment and if that didn't work I might possibly have a bent rim! I had already told them I had "just had all the tires balanced" and I know that it didn't need an alignment. I declined these services because by this time I had lost all confidence in them. I picked up my car and was charged $85.00 for a nothing diagnose! I called the service manager to discuss the last 3 disappointing issues with him. The wipers, the oil change and the diagnosis charge! He explained that the new Kia policy was to use only synthetic oil and that the service advisor should have told me that ahead of time and that my next oil change would be no charge. As for the vibration and shaking if I would call him after the holidays he would oversee them to look at it again. I called him twice and left messages and to this date he has never returned my calls. Finally I took my car to Discount Tires on Alameda and explained what was happening they diagnosed it immediately! It was one tire that was worn more than the other tree due to them being replaced. I've had 3 flats that I always seems to get nails/screws in the sidewalls so the one was more worn and with an all wheel drive it created the vibration. I will never go back to this dealership for any type of service! Three times in a row we've had an issue, enough is enough! Bad customer relations and overcharged. read more

Traded in my car and got the bare minimum for it which is my fault for not paying attention at the time. They do charge more than what the car is worth to make you extremely upside down. Yeah I left my backpack in the car because I foolishly thought this was a honest establishment. Guess not. At the Very beginning they were very nice when we purchased two cars from them. After two years I started having problems with my 2016 Kia soul. The car started smelling horribly and apparently this is a known issue with Kia souls that the evaporator coil creates a lot of mold. The car is now over four years old I've paid to get the AC refresher done I've also completed myself a few refreshers and the car still stinks. After dealing with Kia Customer service they didn't do anything to help besides Telling me that I needed to continue to do the refresher service which technically doesn't do anything. At this point after we pay off our cars we will go with another brand all together and never go back to Kia. read more

My experience with Progressive's customer service and service overall was absolutely horrific. I live closer to the Northeast heights but this is the most honest Kia dealership in town so I make the drive. Each time Fiesta Kia looks at my car they try to tell me that so many costly repairs need to be done. So I bring it here and every time they tell me the truth and show me, (actually show me) what's wrong and what needs fixing. Saving me so much money (literally over 1,000 today). The only reason this dealership is 1 star is because of the sales rep Nikko that helped us other than that I would rate them 0 stars if I could. Not only was I lied to about hidden fees and the sales manager trying to deny showing us what the fees were (after we politely asked what the fees were) the manger immediately got defensive and rude, which turned into an argument. It took about an hour into us arguing for Nikko to finally show us what the charges were and then denied taking 3000 up charges off (which ranged from 400 dollars of car washes, 1700 rain x and seat and exterior protector which neither are worth 1700 and you can buy rain x at Walmart for 4 dollars, and 800 for identity thief/key protection) none of these things add genuine value to your car, even though they will heavily argue that they do. After the worst experience I could of had trying to buy a car, I decided to call the GM, Scott, who only made it worse. He was condescending and extremely rude and when I got angry about the way he was treating me and speaking to me he decided the best thing to say was "oh theres is the Gabby that they were talking about", as if I was supposed to let him and his staff bully me and talk down to me without me telling them that they are being rude. I have never ever been treated the way I was treated at Pitre Kia, they try to say how "transparent" they are but its just another way to manipulate customers, and if the customers questions that transparency you are met with rude and outrageous behavior from staffing. If you buy a car from here just expect to pay 3000 dollars in BS charges, treated/spoken too like a child, and interrupted while speaking every 10 seconds. I would also like to add for Scott who said my husbands "little google review" didn't hurt his 4.6 rating on google, meaning he doesn't care even the slightest about his potential customers or how they are treated by himself or his staff, I hope people read all of the reviews on here regarding similar experiences they had and while these reviews may not bring your 4.6 down, I hope it warns people about dealing with you and your company and be wary about being taken advantage of at your store. read more

I purchased a used Kia Optima from a man name Jake Schut form th west side Kia car dealer ship. I had just lost my husband and I went to Kia trusting I would be taken care of. Jake Schut sold me a lemon car that I had to replace the transmission costing 3200.00 out of pocket. I was told it had a 90 day warranty and I did take it back in that time frame only for them to tell me that nothing was wrong with the car so it was no cost to them. I took it back a second time to turned away again. Mind you Kia did NOT even do an inspection on the car they just sold me. Once the warranty ran out, I took it back only for them to tell me the inspection was going to cost me 170.00 out of pocket. They found out the transmission was going out with only 52,0000 miles. Please be mindful when you purchase a car. Not all sales people care about you and only care the commission. 1 star is generous. I paid 33k for an Acura, obviously not a Kia. I put in the contract that it be detailed and buffed which I do on all the gently used cars I've ever bought. To start, these are the frat guy, d-bag salespeople and managers you see on tv. Met 6-7 of them and none of them different. The "detail" they performed was just a buff. When I asked why they said they'd already detailed it before I purchased. I wrote an email and they gave me over to another guy who scheduled another "detail". The issue was that the last owner had let there dogs in the car and maybe smoked. There was a film on all of the surfaces. I just wanted it shampooed and wiped down. They put two "scent bombs" and nothing else. The windows are disgustingly dirty, the entire interior is splashed with whatever they sprayed inside. Floors were not cleaned, nothing wiped down. The best part was the loaner they gave me to drive because it took a full day to spray glade in my car. A car covered in cat hair that smelled like cat pee. Lol at this point I'm glad I don't have to deal with them ever again. I would recommend you don't either. read more

TL;DR This dealership is filled with unprofessional employees who curse and throw papers rather than negotiate. They do not follow through on written promises and lie perpetually. Even their management refuse to apologize or fix obvious mistreatment of patrons. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Do your car buying elsewhere. Below is selected text from an email I sent to the owner of the company, Bob Pitre, in hopes that he would remedy the mistreatment my family and I were subjected to: I bought a Kia Niro from Pitre Kia around Thanksgiving of last year. I was very happy with the deal. I liked the car, and I felt like the price was fair and the process pleasant. Unfortunately, the Niro was totaled in a rear end collision about 3 weeks after we purchased the vehicle. My wife and I decided to try to make a deal on another new car with Pitre Kia. We came within $500 dollars of a deal on another Niro, but we couldn't come to terms. Normally, that would not bother me: it's just business. However, one of the sales managers, Bob Higginbotham, was overtly rude during the process. He laughed at my good faith offers, and when it became clear we would not come to an acceptable deal for both sides, he literally threw the paper with the offer on it at me. I was stunned, but willing to try to make a deal on another vehicle, When Bob finally came back out, I mentioned trying to make a different deal on a different car. First, Bob said he had called his boss, Scott Simkins, who said, "I would rather make that car a planter than sell it for that price." Bob then said that there was no possible way they could make another deal, even though the second car was significantly less expensive than the one the deal fell through on. I would normally be willing to let all that flow past like proverbial water under the bridge, except that both my parents and I were promised a $200 referral check (as advertised). After repeated attempts to determine the status of the referral checks, I sent my mother to the dealership to try to get some answers (I was in Lubbock, Texas, for some graduate school work). They gave her two checks, both made out for $100 to her and to me. That was nice, but by my erudite calculations, only half of what was promised. My wife called several times to figure out what had happened. We assumed a clerical mistake had occurred. After days calling, leaving voice mails, and being blown off by Brice Hamilton, the finance manager who had originally cut the sub par referral check, she finally got in contact with Bob, the same sales manager who had punted the second Niro deal with us. He gave her a long runaround about how they had no record of any car deal with my parents and how he would do her a big favor by mailing us a check. My wife requested he just draft a check that my mother could once again pick up for us. Bob exploded. To my wife, Bob exclaimed, "SHUT UP! We have a process of doing things here, and if you don't like it, that's TOO BAD." My wife was naturally insulted, and she calmly told Bob he would not speak to her like that again. Bob got even angrier and hung up the phone. While all this was going on, I was giving a technical seminar at an Army base in Maryland. I don't have anything bad to say. This was a fast, way smoother than expected transaction. They didn't have the Soul yet in stock I went to look at but i test drove an S model just to see what they are like. I can only describe it as a fun car to drive, kind of amazing it's so big and comfortable inside. They offered me an S from stock and we quickly and painlessly came to a mutually satisfactory price and I drove it home that day. Casey and Derek were patient and great to work with. The S has even more Driver Assistance safety features than the model I picked out for about the same price I anticipated out the door. After purchase I was reading pro reviews and saw they all felt the S was the biggest bang for the buck. Best thing about the S is it doesn't have two things I hate: sunroof (in the desert) and auto climate control (that I've not seen work satisfactorily since introduced about 1970). read more
