I'm not a big fan of 1 star review I think they're kind of mean. But from the indifferent hostess…read morewho didn't want to look up at us, said "go sit down somewhere", to the otherwise awful service, from the bartenders. Somehow the even worse drinks.... I wouldn't give it a full star. The nicest thing I can say is clean and charming atmosphere. We paid for one of our two drinks stuffed downing the one we didn't send back. And then had to tell the bartender twice we were not paying for the awful drink. What a shame... this place has potential. They need to hire a professional mixologist and a manager and they could have something good. But they need to totally start over with new staff. Ps... We loved our upstairs bar experience at Black River Tavern!

White bean dish under "salads" was like a can of beans dumped onto plate with a massive burrata on top, no vegetables or even a garnish. This dish was unseasoned and nary a salt or pepper shaker on the table. The muscles were similarly inadequately seasoned - the broth was flavorless. No dish provided for empty shells as is typical for a dish of this type. And one ingredient listed was "butter" but in the key them menu says it's a no dairy dish. Confusing. Smash burger was good.

Our host was super kind, helpful with the menu and had a sense of humor. Grape leaves - I believe it was cold if I remember, and it's a softer/mushy texture. The host called it "Turkish Sushi." It was good and different! Appetizers- phenomenal. Fresh, hot, flavorful. We had cheese served on a hot stone, it was beautiful. Nothing was over or under seasoned. Everything was cooked perfectly. Nice fry, nice bake, nice sizzles. Salmon was cooked just right. Calamari was fried great and had a good crunch. Feta borek reminded me of crab cheese ragoons. I love the way it's prepared though, even bites and good flaky crunch. The shell is light and wasn't greasy. Baklava was delicious. Rice pudding was delicious. Drinks were on point. 10/10 will be back again!

Zeytin serves authentic Turkish cuisine along with other middle eastern and American food. A table favourite was the Pepper Delight. Basically, chopped red and green peppers combined with walnuts and tomato. I highly recommend both the Rice pudding and the Fried calamari. Nice big plate I had almost all to myself. The service was friendly and somewhat attentive. My friend, Darius, ordered the Chicken shish kebab and the pita was dry, cold and stale. They immediately returned with fresh, hot, moist bread. The wait for the initial order and drink refills was a bit longer. The dining area is large, yet cozy. The eatery has a very embracing, warm ambiance and it's a great gluten-free zone. The guy that suggested we stop here eats vegan. 01/26
