First time here. There used to be a Greek place in Des Moines that we used to eat at all the time. It's gone now. Great food. Stopped in here and described the chicken souvlaki that we got at the Greek place. The guy made us a couple of chicken souvlaki salads that are delicious! Very clean in here. Friendly staff. It took close to an hour to get our food here, and there were only 3 families in the restaurant. This place is SEVERELY understaffed and the nice lady is overworked and overwhelmed. Nice efficient staff. Clean modern facility that is one of the best looking Pita Pits I've been to. These folks do Pita Pit well. - - So why only 3 stars ? On a recent visit here I was reminded of why I hadn't been to a Pita Pit for years. Their sandwiches are mostly filler. I ordered the Gyro pita and it came with a few very thin slices of meat. All the rest was vegetable matter filler. Perhaps I'm being too harsh comparing a Gyro pita to a real Greek style gyro. That said, gyros can be found at a price comparable to this or maybe a couple dollars more. For that money you'll get plenty of meat in your meal, not just greens & sauce. That said, if you're a fan of the PitaPit chain & their menu, this restaurant will likely please you very much. read more

I had lunch here today. What a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant in Quincy of all places. There are lots of wonderful options to choose from when building your meal. Flavors were great. Atmosphere was nice and clean. Ambiance was great. Cool music playing in the background the whole time. Owners were super friendly. Two big tvs for special event sport watching. They apparently have a game night one or more times per week also. This biz is just cool and the ownership/management seems quite hip. In addition to soft drinks they also serve beer and wine. I never rate a chain 5 stars but I've never had anything I didn't love from here. The staff is super friendly, and the place is always spotless. The food is fairly priced and they don't charge extra for avocado! The produce always looks fresh too. We don't go out to eat often but when we do pita pit is usually the first choice for my whole family (our kids love it too!) and it's relatively healthy for eating out which is a plus! read more

Passing through town and found this absolute gem. Counter service is efficient and friendly. One of us has an avocado allergy and the sandwich maker changed her gloves because the previous sandwich was with avocado. Awesome! The pitas are soft and flavorful and our sandwiches are exceptional. We got falafel but I can tell that other customers were equally pleased. I typically don't post reviews unless I'm underwhelmed by the food and service or blown away. Tonight I had one of the best experiences I've ever had. I had the pleasure of meeting Makailah, I hope I spelled that correctly, and she was phenomenal ! I've been Vegan going on there years now, and her knowledge on the subject was refreshing ! Not only did she make me a complete off the menu vegan meal, but she even went so far as to use different utensils so my meal wouldn't be cross contaminated, wow !
