I dropped in here a week ago and ordered the Mediterranean panini sandwich without onion. It seemed…read moreto be an easy order. When it came, the side was listed on the menu as vegetables. I got three slim Julien slices of carrot. Nothing to really complain about, also nothing to write home about either. Getting to the sandwich, I had one bite and immediately spit it into a napkin. I opened it and it was filled with green peppers. The waitress came by and I asked why the green peppers, the menu states "sweet bell peppers". I asked for red or green peppers and she took it away to fix the sandwich. They didn't give me a new sandwich, they picked off the green peppers and replaced them with red peppers. It was not great as it was no longer hot, but edible. I had some difficulty eating as I couldn't get the image of someone's fingers picking out the green peppers. Here is the kicker, while I was waiting for the disassembly and reassembly of my sandwich the manager came by with a menu. She pointed out the sandwich comes with bell peppers and green peppers are bell peppers. Although that is on it's face true. The menu states "sweet bell peppers ". This clearly refers to ripe bell peppers as red, orange and yellow that are ripe and sweet. Contrasting this is the green bell peppers as that is bitter or sharp it it's flavour and liked by those that prefer this bitterness. The manager was simply demonstrating she didn't know or care enough to know the difference between the menu and the substitution of green peppers. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

This place is a refreshing addition to the number of restaurants in Kentville. The food is phenomenal. The owner who are super friendly and welcoming, makes sure to have local produce and food items included in their menu, like the locally grown delicious mushrooms, or locally raised beef/pork. Not your typical taqueria but great atmosphere, delicious food. You can have your pick of taco, quesadilla, burrito, in a bowl, or salad, or even in a bag of chips! Every dish is different as you can choose whatever protein and toppings you'd like. Their homemade sauces/salsas are also very good along with the local nova Scotian hot sauces available to add to your taco/burrito/quesadilla for that added extra zing. Aside from the food, they also have a very good drink menu. Real good thirst-quenching margaritas that you can get in different flavors as well. They have also partnered with a local brewery to come up with their own brew - the mexican lager. Every visitor we get, I make sure to bring them to this place and everyone always says they love the food. If you are in kings county, make sure you stop by and get your fill of their delicious food!

The space is small with limited seating, but there is also a small bar top and a great patio right on Main Street (Highway 1). Love the variety of options and super happy and friendly staff. There's an all day breakfast and even a taco paddle (8 tacos of your choice for $50) which is great for sharing with friends to make it super affordable! The bar menu is amazing with so many local options as well as 0% choices. Order food and drinks at the counter - no table service. Love that the space is accessible and easy to get in and out of. Parking right out front on Main Street or the large grocery store parking lot right next door.

We have been excited to try this spot since it opened in the fall but it was always super busy but the wait was well worth it. This is a take out so if it's off-season, expect to sit in your car to wait for your food or pre-order ahead of time if you want it ready when you show up. You get a little buzzer to take to your car if you do choose to wait, so it's a great system. In the summer, there is a lot of outdoor seating at picnic benches. The chicken shawarma was massive and delicious! Fresh ingredients and fluffy pita bread. Good bang for your buck. The 'hot' fish was also really good but not actually spicy. The only things I'd suggest the owner to change is to make the sauce less runny to avoid making the fish batter soggy and to switch from shredded to leaf lettuce - it would make less of a mess. We got fries to share but we could have done without. They're nice and crispy and not overly salty. Quite a few fun 'maritime' options on the menu that we will be back to try like lobster sandwich and lobster poutine. It's nice to finally see someone investing in the area with good food. The area really doesn't need another deep fried, overly battered greasy fish and chips place so this is very welcomed. Super accessible right on the highway. Lots of parking. Looking forward to seeing what else the owners do with the place!

Very minor gripe- I would have liked to have been offered a refill on my coffee. The location is a bit out of the way, and the place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is great, filled with local art work and beautiful wooden tables with stones embedded in them. There's also live music over the lunch hour most days which is a nice treat. I might suggest they get a new high chair, as the one available didn't have a harness to secure my squirmy little one... There was a tempting selection of baked goods on offer as well, and they also had a good selection of single portion frozen meals you could take home with you.
