Anyway thanks to Aucklands housing crisis and gentrification we can thank some cleaver clogs for buying houses in a best house worst street scenario . Because now there are some good cafes in this area . But I digress , back to the Bahn mi - the bread roll was lightly warmed and the chicken was cooked having been marinated in lemongrass . but the pate , oh my the pate !! So flavourful with the right amount of spice and the pickled vegetables had sweet parsnip and so much coriander to give it that zing . I loved every minute of eating this sandwich , I tried to eat it slow (instead of my normal inhale all food in site mode ) so I could give it a good review . There is a full menu with lots of the usual suspects of beef pho , Vietnamese summer roll and fried spring roll . But there are also fries , wedges , waffles and French toast . I had one of their pasta dishes and loved it. The portion size was just perfect and the flavour was great. The service was excellent. The woman that took our orders made small talk with us and even joked with us. She was lovely. There is limited seating inside so keep that in mind if you're visiting during peak hours. There is seating outside, but it is next to a street (not much traffic but the occasional car). Overall we had a lovely experience and it was one of the most affordable meals we had while visiting. I usually go for a falafel and hummus and it's so tasty and tastes really fresh. The pitas themselves are really good too, my main beef with Pita Pit is that the bread always seems to fall apart midway through eating but Moi's never do. The service is always great in here and it never seems to be too busy in here, which is always a bonus if you're in a rush on your lunch hour! It's great because you can regularly get deals off websites like dailydo.co.nz that mean you can get a large pita for $4.90--half the price it usually is and making it a contender for cheapest, tastiest lunch in town.

Spring rolls are the ultimate way to determine if a takeaway store is worth returning to, so naturally I had to get one at Tony's. And I admit, I was a little disappointed. Much to my surprise, the spring roll tasted like cinnamon. I couldn't really figure it out. It wasn't terrible as such, just unexpected.... That being said, the fried rice was brilliant. It wasn't oily and didn't make you feel guilty for eating most of the container - which I did. The portions were good and prices were what you'd expect - about $10 for fried rice. Tony's chips were also pretty good - crisp and crunchy; just the way I like them, and with a good amount of salt too. There's nothing worse than not enough salt on your hot chips, so while their spring rolls were a bit strange, you can rely on Tony's to supply good fried rice, sausages and chips. Bonus: Tony himself is pretty cool. He was very smiley and chatty and made the wait for the food fly by
