My only complaint would be that the sweet tea was more of a northern sweet tea where they probably poured sugar in after the tea is already cooled. I would definitely skip then sweet tea if you are expecting a southern sweet tea. The staff was friendly and sweet. They gave us pitchers of our drinks for refills so we didn't have to wait for them. Our waitress was also able to split the check evenly between us without a fuss. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I would recommend for the food.

The food was disappointing, especially the lomo saltado. It tasted more like plain carne asada than traditional lomo saltado, and it was extremely greasy. There was so much oil left on the plate that it pooled at the bottom, and even the rice was oily. The quality, flavor, and presentation were far below our expectations. The service was just as disappointing. Our server took our order and then essentially disappeared. No one checked on us, we were unable to get drink refills, and after waiting for a long time, we had to get up ourselves just to ask for the check. The restaurant also looked very different from the photos and reviews we had seen online, making it seem like the older reviews no longer reflect the current business. Overall, between the poor food quality and lack of service, this was a frustrating experience. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

Pollo Loko - North Charleston, SC…read more The wife and I stopped into Pollo Loko for a quick lunch, not expecting much... and wow, what a surprise this place turned out to be. First off, the customer service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel appreciated from the moment we walked in. You don't always get that kind of attention these days, so it really stood out. The restaurant itself was spotless, well-kept, and had a great vibe. You can tell they take pride in the place. Now let's talk about the food -- because this is where they really shine. We started with the empanadas, which were absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick things off. For our main, we ordered the Peruvian chicken, served with fries and rice, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired incredibly well with their signature sauces -- seriously, those sauces take everything to another level. Even the salad was fresh and tasty, which says a lot because that's usually an afterthought at most places. On top of that, they've got a great selection of sodas and other drinks, making it a perfect stop for a casual lunch. Bottom line: An unexpected gem with amazing food, top-tier service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. **Highly recommend -- 5 stars, 3 thumbs up from us.

This is a fast casual style restaurant and not a real fancy place. My picky colleague who's never had peruvian ordered the ribs. Quesadiladas - you get 2 in an order and these are different than Mexican ones since they have grilled bell peppers and onions. A bit pricy too...the rice and beans that come with this are just average. They only had 2 salsas for the table, a green ranch like one and a red spicy one similar to a spicy Mexican red sauce. I'm still looking for a peruvian restaurant that has the spicy green sauce that most all peruvian restaurants have in California.

The Service was outstanding, Ny was very pleasant and helpful for our party of 9. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. They have a full bar with plenty of bar seating in addition to the table seating throughout the restaurant. I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed an Arepa, an Empanada and a side odder of Scrambled rice with black beans. The name "La Vinotinto" is inspired by the Venezuelan national soccer team, whose official uniform is famously known as "La Vinotinto" (The Burgundy). From the second we walked in, we felt the vibe -- super clean, beautifully decorated, and full of that energy that tells you "yeah, this place is gonna hit." The food? Legit authentic. Not that watered-down tourist stuff. Everything had real flavor -- like someone's abuela was back there blessing each plate. My mom said the seasoning reminded her of her aunt's cooking back in Puerto Rico -- and that's saying something, because her aunt doesn't play. Drinks were next level. I ordered a margarita and they brought me what looked like a whole bucket of joy. I literally said out loud "¡Papi, bring me another!" Vacation mode was fully activated. The staff? Super friendly, super cool. Spoke Spanish with us, cracked jokes, made us feel at home like we were regulars even though it was our first time. Beautiful spot, authentic food, great people, and good vibes all around. My parents are already talking about coming back next weekend -- and we live 4 hours away.

I don't recall the Mt P one having lomo saltado or empanadas so I'm looking forward to trying more of the espansive menu here. I will say the only thing that bothered me was that the menu inside was on rotating screens. They took forever to go to the next screen so we used the QR code to look at the menu online. After we placed out order, I noticed that there were options on the menu screen that were not listed online and I maybe would have tried one of those options. Not a big deal, but definitely an annoyance when the menus don't match. For entrees we got the mostrito which offers so much food. You get a 1/4 chicken, fried rice, fries, and coleslaw. My entree was Arroz Chaufa with chicken which is less of a diverse dish being that it's all the same, but it's so good. I got mine with chicken in it and added some sauces because I love both of them. The spicy one is best but they are both delicious. It was a huge portion so I managed to save some of it for later and it heated up great too.

I got the bowl with everything, off yellow rice and black beans ( NO RICE AND GONDULES, not made here) roasted pork, salad and avocado and corn ( which I didn't want but was added, even though it was told...‍). Good thing I don't have an allergy to corn. Very nice girl at the counter but i guess was distracted. Although it's a nice size bowl which I couldn't finish in one sitting, I was disappointed with the pork. Yes it should be tender like pulled pork but not mushy. Not only that it could have used more flavor, in our culture we love to use numerous spices. Our food is definitely not bland. All I can think is that maybe at one time in the beginning the food was on point and over time it's lacking. The dining area is a nice size for eating indoors and they share the space with a Bolivian establishment which serves meat Pattie's and fresh juice drinks. The food is mediocre and not an option for me. I will continue my hunt for some Spanish food that will please my palette.
