Have been taking my cars to Post Parkway Garage, Milford, Ct. for years and will continue to do so…read more Why? because Tony (owner) and his mechanics are the best. I have never been disappointed with their service, knowledge, politeness, really interested in my auto problems as I am elderly and disabled. Price is always very reasonable, work top shelf. They do not do a lot of unnecessary things and charge you, if it is something that doesn't need to be done immediately he will say so and let you make the decision. Cannot always get response on phone because he is probably under, in, on top of your car. Keep trying he will get back to you. Am driving a 1999 Lincoln, asked him if I should trade it in and get a newer model, he said it is running fine now, in essence IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT. Other place namely LINCOLN DEALERSHIP gave me such a run around, made my window mechanism not work, told me they had some plastic, Will never take my car anywhere else. I would give them 10 RED STARS thank you R.M.Simone

Hell froze over... I found an honest mechanic. I know, I know, I can't believe it either. So check…read morethis out... About a month ago our car battery died. We called AAA to give us a jump, and they ended up telling us the battery was pretty much shot, we needed a new one. They hooked up the new battery, and when they turned the car on, no radio. Just dead silence. There was power coming into the head unit, everything appeared to work, there was just no sound coming out to the speakers. By this point, the AAA guy had left. Great, now what. We called AAA back, they sent another guy out who couldn't figure it out either. It was a fiasco. So we filed a claim with AAA. AAA tells us to take it to a car audio place to get a diagnostic done and submit the claim (but no guarantee they would cover the costs). So we know they're pretty much going to find a way to blame us, and any event, we prepped to be paying out of pocket. We took it to 2 audio places, and they both concluded it was a blown amp... something about when they connected the battery, it blew the amp. Anyway, estimate averaged about $600. $600, and no guarantee that we'd be reimbursed... really sucks. So about a month later we come across Penfields. My wife decides "what the hell, we got nothing to lose". Enter Bob. Bob says "I don't think it's your amp." What's that Bob? Do tell... Bob thinks it's a problem when they connected the battery, and wants to "reboot" the radio. He disconnects the battery, reconnects it, turns the car on with a reset to the radio and POOF, radio works. Best part is, Bob tells my wife "you don't owe me anything... I'm just here to help people". My father always used to say "Son, there's only 2 people that any man can't live without.... A good tailor, and an good, honest auto mechanic." I'm still looking for my tailor, but at least I found Bob.

Few weeks ago I went to Fetzer Tire in Southport . I asked the counter man how much is a rotation…read moreand balancing ,for my car. He said $85 . A few days later I made an appointment to get the rotation and balancing done . I go in at 8:00 AM the owners son asked me if he can help me so I say yes I'm here for a rotation and balance . He fills out the work order . I tell the employee who takes the car in don't bother with checking the tire pressure I've already done that. The cars done I pay about $89 with tax and leave . A day or two later I see a valve stem cover missing from the passenger side front tire . Maybe it fell off, not likely but possible . I go around the car and check the other 3 valve stem covers to find all three had to be tightened 1 1/2 turns to snug then up . I buy 4 new matching covers on Amazon for almost $6 , no big deal. About a week goes by and the service tire monitor light goes on , it happens . Sept 29, 2013 I go to Fetzer Tire and tell the owners son my experience , he had no reaction . He says we only balanced your tires . I said I asked for rotation and balancing he pulls the work order and it states balancing only . I'm mystified after asking or telling 3 employees rotation and balancing the rotation wasn't done .Its standard procedure to do both at the same time especially when you have the tires off the car already .I say lets get beyond this its not that important lets get on to fixing the tire monitor how much to put in a new tire pressure monitor . Howie says $125 . Asked if I need an appointment he said no just come in . I said OK. No I'm sorry for the misunderstanding , no here's $5 for the new valve stem cover . On the way home I'm asking myself do I really want to go back there since I got not even I'm sorry , maybe not . The only thing I got was the monitor is $125 each not for all four. I had the tire pressure monitor done today Sept 30, 2026 of $75 , so one call and I saved $50 and have more confidence in the new tire shop I tried today .
