Terrible service! They were unable to accommodate a larger party at one table so we were split into two tables, which isn't a big deal. But when asked if they could add one extra chair to a table, we were told no because it would disrupt the dining room (it was a Monday night and aside from one other table next to us, it was empty). Next, a waitress tending to the other table went up to them and apologized for our party being too loud and asked if they wanted to move. The only reason we were being "loud" was because we were trying to talk with each other across two tables. Once this happened, we decided to leave. No one at this place, not even the manager cared about us, nor treated our party with any kind of respect. There were 13 of us and they lost out on what Would have been a very large check. Sadly PL has declined greatly and it's shameful. When you can't serve up a yummy breakfast you know everything is going to as bad or worse. Oh and don't think of asking for any customization or subs of anything because the delicate genius inside the kitchen has declared it forbidden to veer off the exact menu. Wow, what a change from 20 years ago. The upstairs bar was full of stuffy, snobby people that took up the whole bar by putting one seat in between each of them. The happy hour clams had a strange taste to them. The drinks are all served in plastic cups. The bartenders were slow and standoffish. The resort was pretty empty so the bar wasn't busy at all. We came back later in the evening to have a few drinks after dinner (we were staying at the resort). We were stuck next to a large party of 25-30 that were blowing cigar smoke in our direction. They kept adding more tables to their party until they were right on top of our group (chairs were touching they were so close). They did have a good bucket special downstairs and the server was friendly and did take good care of us. The sign said they close at midnight, but last call was at 10:45 even though the downstairs bar area was quite crowded. Overall, this was not the resort experience that I remembered from past visits. read more

It's a really nice, new, clean, spotless place. When seated by the windows you have a wonderful view of the water and the boats in the marina. It has a large bar with plenty of seating and they do serve a rather good drink. The menu is complete but rather basic and the food is good but nothing exceptional or unique. This is the type of place one goes for the view and the atmosphere, not for the food, which tough very good is nothing unique or exceptional enough to make me a fan. read more

Went there for Easter, service was very slow we sat there a half hour waiting for waitress to take order, then at least 40 minutes for the dinner. Within that time we saw 4 tables order, get dinner and pay. When our food arrived it was not very good, I had ordered grouper stuffed with crabmeat. Grouper was dry and there was no crab in stuffing, roasted potatoes were cold and not done. The other lady had fish and it was dry, chicken dish was chewed. We then waited for waitress who I explained that I was very unhappy with the meal. Waited another 10 minutes for manager. The manager did not make me pay for the meal. We love this special place! Tucked back in a quiet spot on the waterfront with a marina and a hotel, with well-kept, lush tropical landscaping this restaurant has become a favorite of ours. Every guest we have taken to this spot appreciates it as much as we do. They serve breakfast on weekends, and lunch and dinner, but lunch and dinner only on weekdays. You can sit out or in, but you are perfectly covered if you choose to sit out. Great views and great food draw us back again and again. There is an outdoor bar and the staff is always pleasant and friendly. The entire grounds and restaurant are always clean with white tablecloths and comfortable seating. I love the cauliflower crust pizza, which tastes just like a traditional crust. Whether you want fish or chicken or a burger and fries, we have never had a bad meal. In fact I feel the food has gotten even better in the last few years. We love the atmosphere here and hope this place is around for a long time. read more

We never have a bad meal when we visit Pirates Loft. The food is consistently good and the service is always on point. It's always nice to take a stroll outside and look at the boats also. We came here for one of our last dinners on our vacation. We started with the nachos, calamari and fried shrimp. I forgot to take a picture of the shrimp but if you come here be sure to order it! They were huge and amazingly fried with a light batter served with a sweet and sour dipping sauce, sooooooo delish! They are very generous with their portions and never skimp on the seafood. This is a great place for drinks after work- happy hour 4-7pm menu! GET THE RUM BUCKET, you won't regret it. We ordered the fried jalapeños, risotto balls, loaded nachos, chicken wings, and conch soup! SO GOOD! Prices for HAPPY hour were excellent too. Best part? The waitress. She was extremely attentive, bringing us extra napkins and even a spoon when it fell and we didn't have to ask for it. I was beyond impressed with the food and service. We had reservations but despite that the elderly gentleman at the host desk told us he was very busy and to just sit outside....without even taking our name. We have been going here for the past six years as we are locals. One hour and fifteen minutes after we ordered our turkey dinners we were informed that they ran out of turkey. RAN OUT OF TURKEY! Needless to say this is what we came for. They brought out menus and there were several options all for an additional charge. After debating just leaving we decided to order steaks, seafood and ham. After another 30 minute delay our food was brought out. You could immediately see confusion and panic in the wait staff. Our orders were given accidentally to an adjacent table. So now some of us had meals that would suffice and some had to wait another 30 minutes. You could clearly tell the way the meals were prepared that they rushed the substitute orders. Vegetables were undercooked and rice was near raw. Meats were either over or under cooked. Our waitress did her best but she was rightfully upset with the entire situation. This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had and we will not go back. read more

Decided to try this restaurant out for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was an unexpected delight. I thought this was just going to be another typical harbor side restaurant but it had a very pleasant feel to it (linen table cloths for outside dining). Food was very good and the service was prompt and attentive. Prices weren't bad either (we had the pork dip and French dip sandwiches). I ate Lunch and Dinner here over a 2 day stay at the Resort. Great atmosphere overlooking the Marina. Lunch was the Caesar Salad with grilled Grouper added. (not on Menu) . We went there for dinner with some friend and ordered the surf and Turf Special (steak, stuffed shrimp, and scallops). We received out meal and took of bite of the steak and immediately spit it out. It was rancid. I had my friend taste his and same think. We notified out waitress and my friend said they wanted more shrimp instead for theirs. We waited a half hour and the waitress brought them some shrimp. We never got our steak. We stopped waitress and she said oh "I thought you wanted more shrimp". I said no they asked for shrimp. Well we never got out steak. She provided a round of drinks( beer and wine). Got our bill and Full price! My husband & I went one Friday at Noon and then two weeks later we went with four others. It was very good both times. We sat at the tables facing the marina, upstairs loft and undercover yet open to the water and breezes. The second time we went on a Sunday at 1:30, 2-20-22, which is the height of the season in South Florida. We still got a lovely table overlooking the marina. We shared appetizers of conch fritters (excellent) and guacamole and chips and fish dip with crackers. The guac wasn't as flavorful as it was the first time, but it was still good. All our main meals were very good: grilled shrimp on a large, mixed salad, mahi reuben (so excellent), French dip, a burger with bleu cheese crumbles that looked delicious and fried shrimp. After dinner we walked around the docks looking at the boats and watching the charter boats come in and clean their fresh catches. Then we joined many others at the ground level Tiki Bar, also facing the marina. Casual and friendly, just like the restaurant upstairs. We liked the singer-guitar player-flautist who was on the deck outside the Tiki bar. We sat at a table and enjoyed our drinks and some tempura shrimp and French fries. The shrimp were large, but a little greasy. We enjoyed the little gift shop next to the Tiki Bar. Bought a shirt and a child's book. Really my only complaint, both times, was the music in the restaurant dining room. It's a little too loud and a little too hard rock for me. Our servers, Brenda on first visit and Christy on second, were both excellent. Mel was a very friendly hostess. We live here in Stuart and definitely plan to return very soon. read more

Great place with good food and music all weekend ending at 7:00 p.m. on Sundays. Food is always delicious and fresh. Waitress Taylor got our first drinks and we had to ask for our second round. We were a table of twelve and she only had two other tables of 4 each. A tad inattentive ... at first...got a bit better afterwards. I had the 12 oz. strip steak. I was expecting a luscious and flavorful steak. Looked like a smaller sirloin and I asked Taylor if it was the strip or sirloin. She confirmed it was the strip. Decided to cruise our small boat from our Jupiter home up to the Manatee Pocket for Sun. AM breakfast at Pirate's Loft. Their opening time is 8am Sat. & Sun., which is excellent for us boaters. They suggested we dock next door at the public dock. EZ tie up and short 100 ft. walk to the Restaurant. It was a lovely 2 hour cruise which we enjoyed immensely as we've not done that trip in years. It was a cool morning, we wore jackets & had a fabulous cruise with awesome scenery. We really do live in paradise. The Loft's service, food quality and ambiance was superb. I enjoyed a fine veggie omelet with the best grits ever. 1st mate had the French Toast & really liked it. Portions were HUGE! Prices were very reasonable for waterfront with available dockage. We plan to return soon & bring others. It's a 5-6 hour trip for us Jupitarians. The Restaurant seems well run and the food was terrific. Be back soon.... read more

Place is in decline. Once a favorite spot to see friends and familiar faces. They had great bartenders who knew your name and what your drink of choice was. I always felt the food was just average but it was the bars there (both upstairs and down) that I went there for. I knew what bartenders worked what bar on what day. Then slowly like the show survivor bartenders started getting off "the island". They were replaced by unprofessional bartenders who would rather chat with their friends then make you another drink.! So all they have now is a place with a nice view, marina atmosphere that serves just average food and a has a bunch of unfriendly, unpersonable and unprofessional bartenders...I use to go there 3 times a week. Now I have been there 3 times in the past 4 months... Too many other options and from the faces I see there now I can tell I'm not the only one who feels this way. read more

The Mahi sandwich seemed like it has been frozen and then grilled. It just didn't seem fresh. The taste was fine, but the presentation of the fish just didn't seem up to par. I came here on a recent visit to FL. My dad lives in the area and raves about the view here. It does have a nice view, especially for the area, which I am not particularly fond of. I basically asked the waiter what he considered to be gluten free for any fish dish. He stated they could steam a piece of Halibut (after checking with the kitchen) and some vegetables to go alone side it. My dad ordered the tilapia encrusted with pistachios, which he said was delicious. Hubby ordered a dish with clams that he said was okay. My dish came out and was immediately sent back by the waiter as the kitchen realized they steamed my veggies with pasta water. Great catch! This is why they get 3 stars. When I saw that Groupon had a deal on the Pirate's Loft, I jumped on the offer because I had heard good things about the restaurant. After dinner there tonight, I am glad I purchased the half-price deal, because it would have been painful to have paid full price for our meals. We arrived a bit after 8 on a Friday night, so the restaurant was still fairly busy and we had to sit inside, which dampened our spirits a bit. I ordered a margarita and the two-piece crab cakes ($17; $22 for three). The complimentary bread before the meal was fine--nothing outstanding, but certainly edible. For some reason, we didn't get our drinks until after the food was delivered, with our server admitting she had to go to the bar herself to make my margarita. It was an average drink, with a bit too much frozen and not enough margarita for $5.90. To call what I received crab cakes was a bit generous--they more closely resembled crab muffins. We thought that they must be the best ones ever because of their diminutiveness, but they were, at best, average. For my side, I ordered the Yukon gold mashed potatoes; I am not sure why they are called that, because they tasted like ordinary mashed potatoes, but the serving did dwarf the crab cakes. Overall, I was disappointed with the food, the service, and the atmosphere (the band playing poor cover versions of 1970s songs didn't help--really, do the singer and the guitarist have to walk around the restaurant while performing?). We do have another Groupon for there, so next time I may try one of the pasta dishes. As for the crab cakes, here's a suggestion: head down to basin Seafood on Salerno Drive, pick up a couple there for $5 each (about twice the size, too), buy the Panko breading, go home and make them yourself. To be clear, I will never go here again, but I thought Pirate's Loft deserved two stars for a couple of reasons. I am a local, was in Port Salerno at 10pm on Friday and this was the only place that I could find with the lights still on and available parking spots (maybe that should have been my hint.) The service really was excellent. Even though the bar was very busy and loud when we walked in, someone helped us right away and she was friendly and smiling. In addition, Friday night is "Country Night" and apparently, they host country bands and teach line dancing. To me, this is absolutely atrocious. The band sounded SO BAD that my husband and I couldn't do anything but laugh and the line dancing was equally as entertaining. It did seem like the regular line dancing crowd was having an excellent time. If the food had been at least decent, I would have probably given a good review, but alas, it was not. We ordered the She Crab soup ($7.00 for a cup!) and really, to me, it was inedible. To think that they call it their house specialty is embarrassing. I think that the only two ingredients might have been cream and orange food coloring. For our entree, we split the Mahi Ruben which was $16 and came with one side. I won't waste your time or mine going into detail. This sandwich was beyond disgusting. Soggy and full of fried fish and coleslaw. We got mashed potatoes on the side and they were okay, though we were not offered any gravy with them and the texture was closer to paste than potatoes. Pirate's Loft was absolutely disgusting, expensive and provided laughably bad entertainment, but if you like line dancing...or watching line dancers, you might want to check it out. read more

Beside its location on the water, the food we've had at Pirate's Loft has been consistently delicious. Since we live nearby, we go there often. Some of the items we've tried and enjoyed include the Homemade Pigs in a Blanket, the Chicken Wings, the Loft Burger, the Mahi Mahi Catch, the Tropical Hog Snapper, the Shrimp Scampi, and the Jambalaya Pasta. So far, everything we've tried has been so tasty! There is still plenty on the menu that we want to try, so we'll be back! read more

Took 10 min to see a waitress (where we placed our whole order at once). However, 45 minutes later, we still didn't even have bread at our table. Almost 1 hour before we got our m raw appetizer. 1 hour for a raw appetizer is ridiculous . Then about 2 min later, they bring the salad and the Entrées all at the same time. I asked if they could remove the appetizer and the salad off my bill since I had to eat my warm entree that was brought at the same time as all our other food, including appetizer! The owner refused to help in any way. I would also like to add there were only 30 people max in a 100+ person capacity restaurant. This owner should not be in the SERVICE Industry. There are three better options one block away Shrimpers, Twisted Tuna, and Manatee. We will never be returning to this establishment. It blows my mind how the owner of a restaurant just disregarded our concerns, and refused to speak with us (sending a business card that isn't even hers in our final bill) as patrons on Valentine's Day. read more
