The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. The location sits on a cliff with a clear view of Connecticut about 15 miles across the Long Island sound. Wow! The interior is nicely updated and has a large U shaped hard wood bar with granite type top. We were seated at a water view booth overlooking miles of the Long Island Sound. We has a prime strip steak cooked to expectation. Maybe slightly salty, but u can get slightly overly salted steaks at the most premium steak houses. We also had a traditional wedge salad with steak add on. A huge portion of fillet. This was fabulous, i'd get this on my return. For apps we had calamari, it was decent, just not super. As a side we had a mushroom and roasted corn dish that had smoked bacon and lima beans, very good and unique. Our server was polite, knowledgable and professional. We were enjoying the view so much we ordered cappuccino's and an apple crisp type desert. Both delicious! I recommend this place and i will return. Overall the food is probably a 4 on the High End Steak House grading scale (not a bad grade, a good grade, just not super excellent). Love it or be gone. Arriving at 5:45, I hadn't inquired as to what time the first tee ball hits the air, turns out it's about 8:00am. So I practiced my sneaky bump and runs, flips and flops and Texas toe downs. And player worth his salt has to know a multitude of great escape shots. So I lead the field being put out as a single with twins and fours amassing behind me and being 2 years removed from the short grass (due to injuries) I was a bit nervy on the 1st tee, nobody knew who I was, everyone else knew each other. Fortunately I ripped a low 3 iron cut stinger and I was off, still walking and carrying my bag, adding layers and subtracting layers as it was nippy in the mountains. I love the classic shallow and square bunkering design originally popular with architecture from the 20's and 30's. The greens rolled true but I couldn't buy a putt, not much break out there and putting off the second collar is doable. The fairways were in the shape to be expected for early season golf, what I should have done was pay closer attention to the unseen creeks that protected some greens and ran out along the sides. But I was the first player and I needed to set a good pace out there. Overall, the course played extremely fair, I can't give the staff enough credit for such fine service for me, attentiveness and extremely friendly.

(though it comes with popcorn + candy). I feel like the movie viewing should be free. There's also an option for their "famous" breakfast buns that cost $7 per bun. Not an unreasonable cost, but since you're already paying a daily fee for food it seems like something like this should be included.

I wasn't bothered by the $3 nearly as much as the surprise charge with zero disclosure. Nothing on the cocktail menu. Nothing from the waiter. No indication whatsoever that asking for a large rock carried an additional charge. Charge whatever you want, but tell the customer before adding it to the bill. When I mentioned it, they graciously removed the charge, and I had a very pleasant conversation with a manager who understood the point and agreed it should be disclosed going forward. That's exactly how good hospitality should work. Excellent restaurant, excellent experience, and absolutely somewhere I'd return.
