Have had two meals in the past two weeks from Pippa's that have not been up to par. The other day I got fish and chips which was very greasy and did not come with the chips. Today we had two wraps. The boom boom shrimp has been my fav. Never been bad. Today the shrimp were over done and the wheat wrap old. My wife had her fav the California wrap which was just not good. I give it three stars because for sports bar fare it is outstanding. But the service is wretched. Stood there at the doorway for several minutes before a guy from the kitchen said sit wherever (contrary to the sign on the host station) and then about seven minutes before we got menus--FROM ANOTHER CUSTOMER. And then 10 min more before someone took our order. It was late in the lunch shift and they weren't busy at all, but you'd have thought our server was negotiating four ten-tops during the dinner rush. I felt like I was bothering them. Oh well. This place is rapidly declining in every aspect. It used to be a good place to go for a casual lunch with my wife and family. After my last experience, we will probably not return. Ordered wings, wedge salad and 8 oz. black and blue burger. Wings had so much sauce that they kept sliding out of our fingers and landing on the floor. "Wedge" salad was a bunch of broken-up, wilted lettuce served in a bowl with about a cup of blue cheese dressing dumped in the center. Much of the lettuce had brown ends or edges. We waited about 10 minutes for our server to return so I could tell her that my burger was missing the blue cheese and to ask for salt, pepper, catsup, etc. for the table. She returned about 15 minutes later with my burger, but by that time everyone else had finished their meals, so I took mine home in a box. The burgers used to be a hand shaped and a full-size 8 ounces. When I got this burger home, and after taking a closer look at it, it looked more like a frozen Bubba Burger so I decided to weigh it on our kitchen scale. It weighed in at 4.6 ounces. Granted, some weight is lost through the cooking process, but 3.4 ounces (42.5%)??? I don't think so! A similar thing happened the next morning at their breakfast place next door (Sweet Spot). Took my granddaughter, who was "starving." She had French Toast and home fries. I had an omelet and homefries. The French toast was dry and the home fries were too soggy to eat. I am trying to reach the owner to help him/her understand the significance of the decline in food quality and service. If I make contact and am satisfied with his/her answers I will give it another try, and if both improve I will re-post with (hopefully) a better review. read more

I was a guest at your restaurant on Saturday January 26, 2013 around 8:30pm; my family ordered your Crab Cake appetizer. This appetizer came with an added surprise; in bedded into and a portion sticking out of the crab cake was a plastic bar code. This was addressed with the wait staff; they did offer an apology and to remake the crab cakes at no charge. (Really no charge!) As I do find it unacceptable to find anything in the food I order; I think I am more understanding even if it's hair or lent from clothing. However a plastic bar code not what so ever can I accept this as accidental however carelessness of the kitchen staff. To top off my experience I was truly offended and taken back that a manager did not address this issue with us but left what appeared to be a very uncomfortable waitress to handle this matter. When it got to my table the salad was loaded with wilted lettuce; far from what they claimed to be fresh. The only explanation the "very young" server had was "they told me it was made to order"...hmm, interesting. Also, an off-duty server resting her bare feet on top of a dining table in the same area where patrons/customers eat doesn't exactly capture the idea of a casual environment. Food is a step above your typical bar fare BUT every time we have gone here, there has been something wrong. Even though some of these may not seem like big things since they have happened on separate occasions, they've added up to the point where we won't visit again: Sit at the bar with a view of the kitchen: see the staff grab french fries with their hands (no gloves) not utensils. Ask for a mug with my beer: it doesn't come. Ask for no cheese on a sandwich: it comes with cheese. Ask for mayo on the side: sandwich comes with mayo. Order nachos: cheese isn't melted Order take out: cashier keeps the coins when making change and only returns the bills. We have mentioned the issues to the owner because we want to see this business succeed, but this restaurant has lots to lose. We are hoping a new restaurant goes into Edison Square that can give the Skybrook/Highland Creek crowd a better option. Maybe some competition is what Pippa's needs. read more

Pippa's has pretty decent food. The service is almost always great. The beer selection is terrible! Craft beer is what's hot. If you're not serving it, you're just plain lazy. They could at least tap a local breweries keg and carry a few crafts in the can and bottle. I won't return for this reason alone. Eastfield Bar and Grill right down the street has a nice selection of craft beer and has great food. I would just go there. read more

Avoid this establishment at all costs, unless you enjoy horrible service. Sure, bingo night seems like a fun time, but how about the food? We wouldn't know, since we never got that far. Do they at least have refreshing drinks? Hard to say - we didn't get to that point either. Why were we in such a hurry? We weren't - it's just that we were never served. First, we were seated without menus. No one stopped by to take our drink order, even though we were sitting on the humid patio, the only space available. After waiting twenty minutes, we asked for menus from a passing server. She managed to scrounge up one menu for four of us. At that point, we asked if we could at least place a drink order. She promised to try to find "our" server. About a minute later, the hostess who originally seated us without menus asked us if we really needed the one menu that we were sharing. At that point, we said that we would not be needing the menu after all, since we would be leaving immediately, which we did. Were they extremely busy at this time? Does that excuse taking on additional clients, and then failing to serve them? In my opinion, it does not. Was this an isolated incident? Hard to say. If you want to be a guinea pig, then please check it out, and let us know how it goes. And don't go on bingo night (although, the bingo caller is, in fact, excellent, so if you eat before hand, and bring your own drinks, bingo could be a lot of fun, which is something). Buyer beware is appropriate at Pippa's. If you choose to eat here, make sure you review your bill before paying. No reason to look at the prices on the menu, because: surprise! the "computer" will add mysterious charges to your bill that you weren't expecting. Great staff and service! I orginally went there to watch the UFC fight because a friend told me they show it for free! Shocker! I figured I would get there an hour early assuming they would be slammed because of the fight! They weren't. They had a normal dinner rush crowd but I had no wait time. The wings are delicious! Wide variety of sauces. I wasn't sure of what to get but my server Ashley was more than helpful. She checked on me frequently and was really friendly.
