They are "creeks" separated by a wall but they both have a very similar feel. So similar in fact that I asked my girlfriend... "Do you think these shops might have the same owner?" The atmosphere is low lit and cozy and the collection of merchandise is eclectic. Definitely not something that you run into every day... I'm not sure how to describe the merchandise. Pine Creek offers some seasonal and smaller home furnishing. More leaning to home good. And some items on Harvest Creek you don't necessarily think of when you think Iowa. Some border what you think of when you think wiccan or occult (not in a bad way though)... If I had to guess the owners have their own personal tastes and interests and they stock the shops to align with what they like and hope the market finds them. We really enjoyed looking through both of these little shops and they are ones I would encourage anyone coming through the Winterset area to stop and check out both Harvest Creek and Pine Creek Ltd!

They are part general store, part board game seller, part restaurant plus a bunch of wholesomeness that you aren't going to find in any box store. Growing up, we frequented Aldi but the perception was only the "poor" shopped there (in reality, money savers did too). Our mini-van was probably the nicest vehicle you found in the parking lot back then. Aldi has done a wonderful job changing that perception. This Aldi received a face-lift and they did a really nice job! It was a bit of a pain when they were in the middle of the remodel and I didn't like that they were closed but, wow, the results are amazing! The store now starts with the produce section which creates more of a welcoming, open entrance. However, many people come for the great produce so it can get a bit congested there. I shop on weekdays so it's not been bad yet. The rest of the store has a new layout but everything is better organized in labeled sections. They seem to have more "seasonal"/limited supply items too. I love it! Checkout is always quick as they pay attention to how long lines can get and open up another checkout as needed. Since I always have at least one kid with me, I appreciate their attention to making it easier for me to unpack a cart and if an option, they'll use the same cart I came up with my kid sitting in. My Apple Pay always works here unlike some other stores and that always makes me smile. I have nothing bad to say about this location. Always a pleasant experience!

I said, I'm next in line, to which the person said, yes, he is and it doesn't matter. He grabbed the large bundle of matts scanned them then FLUNG THEM ACCROSS THE AREA, TO THE WALL ON THE OTHER SIDE. He saw me standing there, engaged with me about a cart another woman was trying to maneuver, and still decided to ignore me. BRIAN is rude, could have hit someone with the floor matts, and reflected his bad attitude by flinging these matts across the room. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I ordered egg rolls and ended up with appetizers straight out of a gas station freezer section. Uncooked on the inside too--crunchy outside, still questioning life on the inside. Beautiful.
