This place is a hillbilly haven. Located Right on the Main Street of Russell, you couldn't miss it if you tried. We can in on Sunday around noon for lunch. When you walk in it has a gas station meets diner sort of feel. I ordered the chicken salad and cheese balls with a blue moon. The best, most unexpected part was going through the little saloon doors to the back. There's seating available with Amish made wooden furniture and lots of rustic, vintagey decor. What.a.gem. The back room has a door to a patio with more seating, a huge fenced in back yard space where you can sit around a fire, there's a place for a band to play, the coolness continues. Only in a small town could you get away with having legit barrel fire pits. I haven't experienced this place in its prime- late night, bands playing, fires burning, tires spinning but I hope to.
The food is comparable to dinner food both in quality and in price. Two take away notables from the locals, the fried chicken dinner night is not to be missed as is the free chicken wings with a purchase of a bucket of beer. read more
