My job tasks for that night were to not leave his side, I'm not certified AT ALL in CNA EXPERIENCE. I am ONLY there for his SAFETY, I advocate for him. I had to leave his room and search for a nurse, who then told me to ask one of the CNA's and the front desk on their second floor. They told me I had to wait for other CNA's to come in. Another 10 minutes go by, this CNA "Jinoris Robinson" or however you spell it comes into his room and asks what the problem is. I tell her he needs his diaper changed and she VERY RUDELY says "Isn't that your job?" WHO are you talking to? Of course I keep it calm and collect because this lady is NOT going to take my outta my character, I tell her "Um, I'm not sure, this is my first time here". She leaves and says she'll be back, during that time I call MY company that I work for and ask them who's job it is to change this poor man's diaper, they said the CNA's. 10 or 15 more minutes go by AGAIN, so I make my way out of his room up to the desk on the second floor. I see this lady "Jinoris Robinson" keke'ing (laughing it up) with her other coworker's. I stand there and stare at her waiting for her to notice, she sees me and begins to walk past me so I speak up. I tell her I called MY office and they said it's YOUR JOB Miss. She immediately interrupted ME before I finished and said something slick IN FRONT OF THE OTHER CNAS!! WALKED PAST ME WITH HER LOUD CART WHILE I WAS STILL ADDRESSING HER! ( I was STILL being nice to this lady.) One of the CNA's says that she'll be in his room shortly, why couldn't she say it? Too angry huh? So I sit outside of his room waiting for this unprofessional CNA to come change this diaper. At this point the man yelling for help. She finally comes around the corner, walks into his room and SLAMS the door. She's in there for about 8 minutes, she comes out and I said, "It took you SO long to do something that could've been done AN HOUR AGO". She says, "You ugly bitch", of course I defend myself DIDNT even have to curse at this evil woman to embarrass her. She says, "I get off at 7, meet me outside", oh so now you want to fight me because you had to do YOUR JOB? I tell her, " If you don't like your job why are you here?" She calls me a jealous bitch (what is there to be jealous of? you look 75) look at me and look at you. NURSE IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND and she made sure to keep her voice low in fear of losing her JOB. She says a couple more things before I told her to go and "change some more diapers", Why are you in my face arguing with me. You changed his diaper, AS YOU SHOULD, and you're still mad? She walks away, walks past a couple more times saying things under her breath, which I ignored COMPLETELY. An hour passes and the nurse who was nowhere to be found asks me about what happened and I told her, here comes Mr. Loud Mouth "Jinoris Robinson" giving IT'S unwanted/unneeded input. IT LIES to the nurses face and DENIES EVERYTHING I said to the nurse. Calls me a LIAR, what do I have to gain by lying? Be honest with me. What am I gaining by "lying" on you?! Maybe she was ultimately upset because she knows I make more money than her ?? I don't know. But that ANGER AND RAGE does not belong in a facility like this, that behavior in a place with these obviously fragile people IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL. AT HER BIG AGE. This lady does not belong in ANY healthcare field, maybe she should try Amazon or UPS.

Some CNAs are just lazy and not professionally trained well that when I need them to come and clean my poops bucket, they did not want to rinse the poops bucket, instead they just empty it by dumping the poops into the toilet bowl without at least rinse the dirty and smelly bucket first, and the black female CNAs just put a plastic bag as a liner over the bucket???!!! Very disgusting and unsanitized behavior and unprofessional with an attitude when you ask her to do the right way of cleaning the bucket, she gave me the excuse of saying she is not a maid??!! I was so shocked, trust me even if I need a maid that I wouldn't even consider her as an candidate!!! Oh. NO, NEVER!!!! The food here is very disgusting and nasty most of the times!!! The exterior and landscaping is not well maintained. Underneath the awning is disgusting just filthy and the fixtures look like they have never been cleaned. Lots of dirt/debris and insects there in that area. Work orders are not done in a timely manner. The building does not seem to be a professionally cleaned they need staff hired to properly maintain the buildings. Stains on carpets in the hall that have not been cleaned for years. There are TWO doors for the Seniors to enter the building. The Handicap door opener has not been working for over two months which means those using their walkers, canes, or wheelchairs have extreme difficulty getting inside. There seems to be a rodent issue in the building I am speaking of mice. The appliances are very old, don't function the best and the elevators are questionable. Repairs require multiple calls to fix the issues so they probably need a larger staff for that size building the guy I see does his best. My love one has had to use the stairs due to the elevator not working. Please see the dead squirrel in front. When the small grocery store got there the Management should have made sure that they were not allowed to over charge the seniors. I don't like the fact that the store is benefiting from the seniors with the the installation of the gambling machines causing the seniors to fall prey to potential gambling addictions.

I chose PGSC because of its marketing brochure, especially "Your First Choice for Affordable Luxury Living for Seniors". It sounded perfect since I was looking for an Independent Luxury Living Community in an outstanding location with great city views and amenities. I didn't know at the time that this once vibrant black-owned talk of Bronzeville with its lush landscapes was rapidly deteriorating, going into serious disrepair and becoming an eye sore. Tenants have and are moving out at an alarming rate because of neglect, nasty dock area inside and outside, exterior dock door area where metal is falling apart, drugs, tenants complaints against management, elevators down, just plaster and paint walls by elevators, worn carpet, repairs not made in a timely manner, sanitation, security and safety concerns. PGSC is no longer the talk of Bronzeville from 1975 , people are also moving out at an alarming rate because of City of Chicago lawsuits and code violations against PGSC, scaffolding installed over 7 years ago without work being performed on the building is unsafe, blocking security cameras and hiding illegal activities, crumbling facade around the exterior of the building that is getting worse not better from years of neglect. There are more than 40 vacancies between both Towers. The maintenance staff is insufficient for 420 apartments and lacks licensed electricians and licensed tradesmen. I blame the building management, some have been with the company from 25 to 45 years for "failure to maintain" this once beautiful 49 year old, black-owned senior building causing it to go into serious disrepair with the above issues that were preventable. Management uses scare tactics of eviction on seniors which is against the Landlord/Tenant Ordinance. There was 24 hour security when I moved into the building, now no 24 hour security. Security leaves early and 1st responders, vendors, delivery drivers, healthcare professionals, caregivers, etc are at the mercy of residents entering or exiting the building to get into the building until the office opens, if they can't reach the resident. Our once reliable security companies have been replaced by a 2 star security company with mostly young individuals who sleep, watch tv, on phone, disappear, don't watch guests or residents entering and exiting the building, security monitors and more now than before, don't show up for work, especially 3rd shift leaving residents unprotected and 1st responders only option is to break the door to enter the building. There have been 4 robberies in the Medical Center/Pharmacy located in the building this year. 4 months later, the glass still hasn't been replaced. I have had packages stolen from in front of my apartment door. There is no longer 24 hour gated security. Gates that used to be locked at 8pm and unlocked at 6am are left wide open 24 hours. The residents outside seating area benches are old and need TLC, removed but not replaced The amenities that affected my decision to move into PGSC are gone: Residents can no longer go to the store through the building, computer lab is closed, arts and crafts studio closed, outdoor patio on 2nd fl and fitness center under repair and others closed due to code violations. The living in PGSC is not bold, beautiful and bountiful. There are over 40 vacancies in both Tower. The building is not a "luxury senior residence" as per the marketing brochure. I know luxury and this ain't it, but can be. "Out with the Old" and "In with the New"

From our intake nurse (Barb), our visiting nurse (Brianna), the amazing John (JT) who delivered and set up and then came to take away, all equipment we used, our social worker (Lauren) and Chaplain (Ken), and CNA (Anna), we were ALL attended to with dignity, respect and friendly assurances. When we needed something, meds or equipment, or information... it all arrived quickly. Hospice in your home can be a daunting experience, always on call, setting many aspects of life aside, but for our 3 month experience we had wonderful support and remain appreciative.
