Nurses are extremely efficient and caring. I like how the nurses pay particular attention to make sure medication is being taken by the patient.

So I was sent here by my company as a overnight caregiver for a nice elderly man. He pressed his…read morecall button numerous times for his diaper change and no one came to his aid. My job tasks for that night were to not leave his side, I'm not certified AT ALL in CNA EXPERIENCE. I am ONLY there for his SAFETY, I advocate for him. I had to leave his room and search for a nurse, who then told me to ask one of the CNA's and the front desk on their second floor. They told me I had to wait for other CNA's to come in. Another 10 minutes go by, this CNA "Jinoris Robinson" or however you spell it comes into his room and asks what the problem is. I tell her he needs his diaper changed and she VERY RUDELY says "Isn't that your job?" WHO are you talking to? Of course I keep it calm and collect because this lady is NOT going to take my outta my character, I tell her "Um, I'm not sure, this is my first time here". She leaves and says she'll be back, during that time I call MY company that I work for and ask them who's job it is to change this poor man's diaper, they said the CNA's. 10 or 15 more minutes go by AGAIN, so I make my way out of his room up to the desk on the second floor. I see this lady "Jinoris Robinson" keke'ing (laughing it up) with her other coworker's. I stand there and stare at her waiting for her to notice, she sees me and begins to walk past me so I speak up. I tell her I called MY office and they said it's YOUR JOB Miss. She immediately interrupted ME before I finished and said something slick IN FRONT OF THE OTHER CNAS!! WALKED PAST ME WITH HER LOUD CART WHILE I WAS STILL ADDRESSING HER! ( I was STILL being nice to this lady.) One of the CNA's says that she'll be in his room shortly, why couldn't she say it? Too angry huh? So I sit outside of his room waiting for this unprofessional CNA to come change this diaper. At this point the man yelling for help. She finally comes around the corner, walks into his room and SLAMS the door. She's in there for about 8 minutes, she comes out and I said, "It took you SO long to do something that could've been done AN HOUR AGO". She says, "You ugly bitch", of course I defend myself DIDNT even have to curse at this evil woman to embarrass her. She says, "I get off at 7, meet me outside", oh so now you want to fight me because you had to do YOUR JOB? I tell her, " If you don't like your job why are you here?" She calls me a jealous bitch (what is there to be jealous of? you look 75) look at me and look at you. NURSE IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND and she made sure to keep her voice low in fear of losing her JOB. She says a couple more things before I told her to go and "change some more diapers", Why are you in my face arguing with me. You changed his diaper, AS YOU SHOULD, and you're still mad? She walks away, walks past a couple more times saying things under her breath, which I ignored COMPLETELY. An hour passes and the nurse who was nowhere to be found asks me about what happened and I told her, here comes Mr. Loud Mouth "Jinoris Robinson" giving IT'S unwanted/unneeded input. IT LIES to the nurses face and DENIES EVERYTHING I said to the nurse. Calls me a LIAR, what do I have to gain by lying? Be honest with me. What am I gaining by "lying" on you?! Maybe she was ultimately upset because she knows I make more money than her ?? I don't know. But that ANGER AND RAGE does not belong in a facility like this, that behavior in a place with these obviously fragile people IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL. AT HER BIG AGE. This lady does not belong in ANY healthcare field, maybe she should try Amazon or UPS.

If you don't order from the general menu, the kitchen will automatically send you Amy's brand frozen gluten free entrees that I personally don't like at all. You can find these at local supermarkets and try them ahead of time if you want. Basically they just put the whole cardboard container, lazy as I see it, in the microwave and heat it up. Waalaah! Breakfast or Dinner is served! If you order from the general menu itself, you must do so before the time that meal session begins as noted on the front cover of the menu. Or else your automatic gluten free entree is already being processed and on its way to your room.

I arrived at 5:30 AM and met with the research assistants and the nurse that would be dealing with me, Colleen. She was professional and supportive. The room was small and clean, with a tv and comfy chair. I got breakfast at 9:30 and it was ok. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I have stingy veins, so there were multiple attempts at finding one that would work. They were apologetic and I took it in stride. The worst was going to the bathroom, having to take the IV stand with me, and 'collecting' the urine for analysis. She reminded me cheerfully and asked if I was ok multiple times. The only glitch was I went to have another test done, so I ordered lunch in advance, but due to a new catering company or something there was a big delay (45 min) because I came back earlier than anticipated. I had planned to have lunch at home and I kind of wish I had done that.

The surgeon I have is such a d head. But he's good. His office is a mess though. Like worst communication ever. But my surgery day experience was good. The ER is your typical urban ER. Overcrowded with overworked staff. First ER via ambulance I was brought right to a bed in a hallway. Anyway despite waiting an almost hour screaming in pain before they dealt with slow AF shift change was I finally taken care of. CT scan done. They had to try placing my NG tube because they didn't get it right the first time. Cognizant placement of this tube is torture. So having it done twice - ugh. Having a blockage in the ER sucks. Meeting trauma team was fine once they finally came. So then there's my emergency surgery experience which was actually pretty smooth compared to my ER experience. You get your own private room at the hospital which is great. Had a great care team but I pretty much came back to the hospital (again after a magic carpet ride). They tell you once you are discharged to call this certain number if you have issues. It's hard to wait for a call back when you are screaming in pain again. So they were annoyed I came back "without calling". Anyway my second ambulance ride sent me to the waiting room. It's a lot of fun to sit in a wheelchair in pain in a cold waiting room. Then I was put in my own room once brought back instead of a hallway. In room most of day until they admitted me. Second stay was fine. Hospital food here isn't the worst. I really like my outpatient experience. I am in the resident clinic for my primary care and I like my baby doctor. I feel like my doctors are better listeners here than my previous hospital in Boston. I have an interesting medical history so I appreciate this. I'm glad we don't drive. Parking looks painful. My sister and husband enjoy the sky lobby space. The staff are relatively kind here. Not my worst hospital experience.
