My mom had a medical condition while there that was ignored I visited that day and informed the nurse she was annoyed and said the ambulance would take 90 minutes. note we visited my mom daily because she mattered. A daily Broadcast Of pertinent information was set in place; from how to correctly wear masks to checking temperatures in and out daily. The actual rooms are run down and dreary. His stay has been riddled with a constant stream of little oversights, delays, inconveniences. Obviously some of this due to COVID, with increased safety requirements and decreased staff. But there are violations. Not everyone wears masks in the common areas, and many who do wear them have their noses exposed. I do not feel safe there and I worry for my husband's safety. It is also uncomfortably hot in the daylight and cold at night. I visited the other day, and my body temp on their check-in machine went from 97 to 99 just from an hour's visit. No, I'm not sick. It was the room, which felt like about 80 degrees when it was 55 outside. None of this is the staff's fault. Everyone there is trying really hard under less-than-optimal circumstances. I do wish they would enforce the handicapped parking. There is almost always a car without plates or placard hogging one or more of the few they have.

The surgeon I have is such a d head. But he's good. His office is a mess though. Like worst communication ever. But my surgery day experience was good. The ER is your typical urban ER. Overcrowded with overworked staff. First ER via ambulance I was brought right to a bed in a hallway. Anyway despite waiting an almost hour screaming in pain before they dealt with slow AF shift change was I finally taken care of. CT scan done. They had to try placing my NG tube because they didn't get it right the first time. Cognizant placement of this tube is torture. So having it done twice - ugh. Having a blockage in the ER sucks. Meeting trauma team was fine once they finally came. So then there's my emergency surgery experience which was actually pretty smooth compared to my ER experience. You get your own private room at the hospital which is great. Had a great care team but I pretty much came back to the hospital (again after a magic carpet ride). They tell you once you are discharged to call this certain number if you have issues. It's hard to wait for a call back when you are screaming in pain again. So they were annoyed I came back "without calling". Anyway my second ambulance ride sent me to the waiting room. It's a lot of fun to sit in a wheelchair in pain in a cold waiting room. Then I was put in my own room once brought back instead of a hallway. In room most of day until they admitted me. Second stay was fine. Hospital food here isn't the worst. I really like my outpatient experience. I am in the resident clinic for my primary care and I like my baby doctor. I feel like my doctors are better listeners here than my previous hospital in Boston. I have an interesting medical history so I appreciate this. I'm glad we don't drive. Parking looks painful. My sister and husband enjoy the sky lobby space. The staff are relatively kind here. Not my worst hospital experience.
