This dog park is a big open field covered in dirt and wood chips. At the end of a visit, doggy is sure to be covered in mud. And the problem with that is, there is no running water at this park. So not only is it impossible to rinse your pup off after a romp in the mud, there is also no water supply for drinking. Lesson learned on the first trip. But after the first visit, I learned all these things. Now I know what weather I can go to this park and enjoy it, and also that I need to bring my own water for my dog! I would visit this dog park often, and every time we went, my Paizley always found playmates and always had a great time! This is a HUGE park. There are so many amenities, from…read more athletic fields of so many types, to a playground and splash pad for kids, and even multiple off leash dog areas. There are open fields and wooded areas if you want to walk around different areas. If you want to have a picnic, there are tables and benches, or even set up a blanket on a grassy area. There are also picnic shelters if you're worried about the weather. The shelters can also be reserved for private events. The only bathroom here is near the splash pad, but it's well supplied with soap and running water. There are multiple parking lots. One lot has EV chargers, but I couldn't figure out if they were working or not. Even on days when the car parks are pretty full, the park is large enough that you don't really feel crowded at all. This is a thoughtfully planned, wonderful multi-use park.

The first time was awesome. We loved the atmosphere, the beer, the kind man who was serving us, and the space (which has clearly been invested in). Earlier today, my partner, arrived with our dog, Toast, and Rachel, the owner, was there with her German Shepherd, Oliver. My partner asked if Oliver was good with small dogs, and she replied, "95% of the time", which in hindsight should have been a red flag. However, Oliver was playing nicely with a small dog that was in daycare on the other side of the 2 sectioned area so he thought it was fair to ask. Rachel actually discouraged introducing them at first due to her dog having a pacemaker. However, a few minutes later, she asked if Oliver and Toast could meet. She brought Oliver over on leash, handed him his (emotional support) pineapple, and then unclipped him. The second Oliver went through the gate and interacted with Toast, he dropped the pineapple, and bit Toast on the neck. Thankfully my partner reacted immediately and was able to separate them before things further escalated. Rachel immediately put Oliver in a crate and apologized. We checked Toast and he seemed okay, mostly spooked that a large dog approached him aggressively. Unfortunately, we didn't realize Toast had actually been injured until we got home. We took another look and found a puncture wound on his neck. Luckily it wasn't severe and did not fully break through his skin but Oliver still left a mark on my dog (photo attached). What frustrates me is that if you own a dog-friendly taproom (and are a certified trainer), you have a responsibility to provide a safe environment for everyone else's dogs. If your own dog is reactive or unpredictable--even if it's only "5% of the time"--it shouldn't be around customers' dogs. We're glad this wasn't a more serious incident. I wouldn't necessarily tell people to avoid this place altogether because we have had a positive experience previously. That said, I'd be very cautious if the owner's German Shepherd is out. For us personally, this experience has made us lose confidence in the business and we've lost interest in returning. Hopefully the owner takes corrective action on this going forward.

So when I heard there was a new indoor dog park on the Eastside, I was thrilled! Thus, we come to Ruff Draft. My friends and I came here for an informal pug meetup as Ruff Draft recently opened in Woodinville. It's a great space that offers tons of room for the dogs to run around in and play while the humans can hang out with a pint or two. Before going to Ruff Draft, updated vaccines are required for your dog, which you can easily upload on an online profile that you create, which makes checking in easier. The profile also allows you to save your credit card for payment, which is $12 per day for the dog park. They also offer boarding and daycare services. There's a space for shy, smaller dogs and a larger space for more energetic dogs. Additionally, there's a bar with local taps, including wine, cider and seltzer if you don't want beer, along with some snacks, like bags of chips. You can however bring your own food as they don't have a kitchen. They take reservations if you want to plan your own party, which they charge $50 per hour an additional $20 for every hour after that. Glad Ruff Draft is open, which is a great place to take my dog on those rainy days.

The simulators were kind of glitchy at first but I think it was mostly kid operator error - too many kids throwing diff balls at once, etc. Austin was patient with us and got everything working. We have 2 bigger dogs and it was our first time there, the community and staff was great with them…read more At first we were nervous because we have a Belgian mix as well as a boxer mix however everyone was really friendly, respectful, and very helpful. One thing we noticed was a couple of smaller dogs wanting to instigate, but the staff was very proactive on noticing the behaviors and acting on them. Our belgian is a newly added rescue family member of ours and is still adjusting, everyone we told that to completely understood. this is a great place for dog people.

There are a handful of parking spots and a porta-potty available. There is a cement ramp that leads down to the off leash area as well as two access gates. There does not appear to be running water at this site, though there are many gallon jugs of water available for your pup. There is a pop up shelter for shade and a couple patio chairs for seating. The ground is hard packed dirt and is great for pups who love to run and fetch. There is not a separate "shy dog" area at this particular off-leash park. Judging from the number of dogs we saw coming and going, this place is pretty popular with the locals, so may be crowded on sunny days.
